Hello! Nice to meet everyone! My name is Mikko and it’s been a long time coming. I love that I finally found a safe space where I can be myself with other witches who understand one another on various levels. I never had any friends who practiced the craft, in fact, I’ve lost friends when I opened up about it.
About me, I’m a single mom who escaped domestic abuse in Japan. My son and I relocated back to my hometown in the SF Bay Area. I have only one child who is AuDHD, and a senior cat who doesn’t like anyone else but myself and my son haha. I do photography both as a profession and as a hobby. I’m starting to get back into macrame after a huge hiatus as well as candle making and wire wrapping crystal jewelry. I also write poetry and have built up the courage to finally research publishing a small collection of poems.
I have had precognitive dreams since childhood, and those dreams remain as vivid as they came to me as far back as 30 years ago. I want to strengthen my abilities in that and also in clairvoyance. I want to learn palmistry and tea reading.
I would say I am eclectic, my journey is not new but due to limitations in my life (strict Christian upbringing, mental health, abuse, etc.), I withdrew for a long time. So I’m treating this journey as a huge step forward and understanding it as a new beginning rather than starting all over.
Sorry if this was a bit long, I’m a bit of a chatterbox even through text haha.
Hope to get to know you all and learn from everyone!

Thank you so much for sharing all of this. What you’ve walked through, and what you’ve survived, speaks to so much strength, resilience, and heart. Finding a safe space after losing friends and escaping abuse is no small thing, and I’m really glad you and your son are here, grounded and rebuilding in your own way.
I’m Stephanie, or Eira of the Living Hearth, an eclectic witch from California, and I want you to know how deeply welcome you are. Your path doesn’t read as “starting over” at all, it feels like a powerful return to yourself, with more wisdom and confidence than before. That kind of beginning is sacred!

Welcome, @ashley3 and Merry Meet! It does take courage to walk away from your upbringing, knowing that it did not define you, and leave it all behind. You’re in the right place now, for any discussions or questions you may have. You belong here!
I’m Feathertip, from SE Michigan. I’m a lifelong Pagan and am learning every day, and having fun expanding my practice.
@BryWisteria will also be along to welcome you, as one of the Moderators here, and she may want to give you your own welcome thread, and suggest areas of the forum that may interest you.
I’m looking forward to seeing you around the forum and getting to know you. Don’t hesitate to ask questions about anything as you look around the place. Enjoy your time here- this is a safe place! Blessings.
Hi! And thank you so much. I have been going through some of the courses already and excited to continue them. Looking forward to learning from others as well!
Thank you for having the courage to share this! It takes a lot of strength to speak your truth, especially after coming from a strict religious background and surviving abuse. You’re absolutely right: the Craft is so often misunderstood, and it can be painful when people label what brings us healing as something dark or wrong.
I’m Stephanie, or Eira of the Living Hearth, an eclectic witch from California, and I want you to know you’re not alone here. Many of us have walked similar paths, leaving unsafe situations, protecting our children, and slowly reclaiming ourselves after trauma. Finding your way back to your intuition and spirituality after all that is an act of deep courage.
It’s okay if this is your first post, and it’s okay if you don’t have witchy friends offline. This space exists for connection, understanding, and gentle support. You’re welcome exactly as you are, and I’m really glad you’re here.
Sending love and light to you and your son as you continue forward.
Blessed Be!
This is a great place to find like minded people. So nice to see you posting. Keep going. Digital friends are friends in most of the ways physical friends are. They can help you settle on your path and also be supporting and understanding.
I’m Dan, and I study Belief Systems. My path falls loosely under the Chaos umbrella. Jump in and enjoy!
Hi Ashley! Welcome to the forum too - it’s very nice to meet you Please feel free to explore around and make yourself at home. You’re welcome to join any open discussions that call to you, make an official introduction post by creating a new topic here in the Introductions category, and/or check out current activities. There’s a weekly news post every Monday called the MMM that’s a good place to take a look at current happenings.
Looking forward to chatting with you more around the forum! Blessed be
