Fun Friday (Part 2)

Thank you, babe!

I got a notification from Space-dot-com today - a little late, but the site was sending out a Valentine’s Day rose to everyone on the planet - from the Universe!

I give you the Rosette Nebula:

Isn’t it amazing? :dizzy: :star: :night_with_stars:

I love seeing things like this!

  1. Eric and I always get cards for each other, that’s really about it. We used to go out to dinner but now prefer to avoid the crowds and eat at home. If Valentine’s is on a weekend, we will have some wine, but otherwise we don’t.

  2. I toss and turn like I’m on a rotisserie all night – not easy to do wearing a CPAP mask, let me tell you, but I manage it!

  3. I honestly couldn’t say, it’s really not something I have ever thought about. I know, I’m boring.

  4. I don’t eat avocados a lot, but I do like them - either in guacamole or sliced on to a sandwich etc.

  5. As far as I can remember, Friday 13th hasn’t been unlucky for me. Of course, every year there’s the “uh oh, it’s Friday the 13th next week!” conversation, followed by a spooky story. But I don’t recall anything bad ever actually happening.

That’s so pretty! Space is so amazing looking.

I don’t blame you! How special is it to spend the day in a room full of other couples, all trying to one-up each other? Have your own Valentine’s Day on a weekend, when you have more time to have fun!

Same here! We frequented a very nice restaurant in Atlanta some years ago, and the manager told us that V-Day was the second-worst time to go out to dinner. Crowds, hustling folks to move along, yuck! We definitely prefer to stay in.

Oh, and the absolute worst day to go out to dinner is Mother’s day! :joy:

Poor girl! I guess that’s something you learn to cope with, not really get used to. Hopefully you’ll get some other treatment options from your recent tests.

Exactly! Somehow it’s a “thing”, and I still haven’t heard anyone say they personally had a spooky event!

I was going to update my answer. The SO decided to make a nice dinner. We also had a bacon wrapped filet and lobster tail. Asparagus (baked with reduced balsamic vinegar) and a half baked potato with the usual on it. It wasn’t a big meal but it was really satisfying. No stretch marks or food coma like November and December.

That sounds delicious! I like the idea of the classic surf & turf, but for whatever reason we haven’t done it.

And yes, we were definitely trying to avoid the food coma, too! :joy:

Things worked out well. She gave me tongue baths, but nothing damaging. I was surprised she was so calm after tearing holes in the linoleum a couple times last week.

How beautiful!

Our dinner went well but we got too lazy to make brownies lol. We had some cookies and creme ice cream instead. I’m like a hermit these days. Lost inside myself because I’m just so tired I cannot think straight. We have two major storms roaring through California right now. We were under flash flood warning earlier this morning. It was coming down!

Sorry that you pooped out, but hey! Ice cream is just as good! And I hear ya with being tired. I’ll be doing okay, and then all of a sudden I’ll get tired and fall asleep in my computer chair. Not a good place to nap at!

I hope the storms don’t hit you too hard! Stay safe!

I’m happy the dinner went well! That ice cream sounds delicious. :face_savoring_food:

Sorry you’re going through this down cycle, Sister. :hugs: Hearing about flash flooding when it’s pouring outside will rattle anyone’s nerves - especially in your neck of the woods. I hope it clears out soon!

We made it through the biggest storm. We have two more coming our way this week, but they’re not supposed to be as bad. I’m doing better. My daughter and I started a at home workout program today and I got myself a mini elliptical machine for under my desk so I can do seated bicycle rides. I ride the bike at therapy, and it helps strengthen my back, abs, and legs. Going to dive into divination tomorrow. Trying to develop a doable daily schedule that works for me. Still waiting on my referrals.

Glad you made it! I saw some pics of California today and was worried about you. I hope you get through the next two okay!

It sounds as if you’re keeping busy as heck! Good luck!

I’m so glad you made it through that storm, Sis - it looked pretty bad out your way. Hopefully the next couple will just glide byband not feel so scary.

I always had to start my P.T. sessions on a stationary bike, and I kinda liked it! I hope your home workout program is enjoyable - if it’s fun, it’s easier to keep going.

Hope you hear something soon about the referrals. I miss you and want you to feel better! :people_hugging: :dizzy:

@Jeannie1 are you OK, too?

Yes nothing happened where I live we just been inside the house! Except my friend said she wanted to go to the jacuzzi, we sat inn the hot steaming water :sweat_droplets:. It felt so good cause I was so sore from working hard to get a new job and clean the house. I’ve been filling out many applications so we can get a habitat home.
Guess what my friends daughter is the hiring manager for a place where I’m going to apply to! I did a ritual last night and put some intentions next to my pillow!

Thank you for asking Georgia! Thankfully I had a friend that cared to get me to work out:hugs: we need each other! I’m glad you asked because this world can be something really but yeah I am trying to take care of myself the best I can.

I put my intentions out last night and I just love  this website because it really keeps me going!

Good Friday to all of you lovelies! It’s that time of week - Friday, at last.

Here are this week’s questions:

  1. Did you ride a bike when you were a kid? If so, what did you name it?

  2. What’s your most prized possession and why?

  3. How do you enjoy spending your “me” time?

  4. What animal best represents serenity to you?

  5. What’s your favorite kind of rice?

I can give my answers right now (for a change!).

I rode my bike a lot when I was a kid. I never named my bike, though a couple of my friends did, and my brother did. One of my friends had a pink bike, and she wanted to pretend it was a pony so she named it “Pink Flame.”

When we got older, we were in choir together (singing in school) and we decided Pink Flame would be our band’s name when we hit the stage together (which never happened.)

My most prized possession…these kinds of questions should be answered with a certain amount of frivolity, otherwise a person might get weepy over the kids or oxygen or the morning sun. I’ll say, right now I’m grateful to have a repaired, newly painted ceiling. It’s been bugging me for years. Now it’s fixed - huzzah!

I like reading most of the time, although if I have a good art project already going, I’ll be focused on that.

Animal representing serenity - ducks! I have a regular pair or two who visit my back yard every spring, and just hang out for weeks. I’m so lucky to have gotten to watch them and toss cracked corn. They’ll sit quietly under a bush for several hours, only occasionally getting up. So peaceful and quiet.

(My photo taken in my back yard.)

I love a lot of different kinds of rice, but Mexican or Spanish yellow rice is my favorite!

I’ll be back later to catch up - have fun!
