Well that timing could not have been more perfect! Part I has come to a close with much fanfare, and Part II is starting in a fresh new space. Seems like an auspicious sign!

Looking forward to Fun Friday Part II! :tada:

That’s what I said! It literally could not have been planned any better… feels like the Universe agrees with our decision!

Well bless my soul - it’s Friday! Time to kick off our Fun Friday series with me as your new host. (Blows kisses and tosses daisies at @Nikki-Phoenix)

Without further delay, I bring you to:

  1. What’s your favorite dinosaur?

  2. When were you the most proud of yourself?

  3. If you could combine two animals into a pet, what would they be? And what would you call your new animal creation?

  4. Which is better - creamy or crunchy peanut butter?

  5. What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid?

My answers:

  1. I love the Brontosaurus! He was an herbivorous fella, so likely not busy ripping apart his neighbors. I love his graceful long neck and tail. Plus, he was the first dinosaur skeleton I saw as a kid and I bonded with him.

  2. I was proud of myself when I learned how to develop my own film. It’s empowering to be able to get your own negatives at home.

  3. I would like a squirrel combined with a cat. The Catirrel would be friendly, inquisitive, and climb the highest trees without needing to call the fire dept. rescue squad. It would also develop an annoying habit of dropping acorns into the litterbox, but otherwise be a wonderful friend.

For fun (and because @dan3 is influencing me here) I created this image:

Who wouldn’t want one as a pet?!? :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

  1. Crunchy peanut butter for a PB & J - but creamy for smoothing on an apple or banana.

  2. My favorite Halloween costume was a bridal gown my mom concocted for me - all white satin and flowy, and I had some kind of veil, too. I was still little enough to love getting dressed up all girly! Of course, we still went out door to door for Halloween in those days, and by the time I got home, that pretty little thing was trashed.

I’ll be back later to read some replies - hope you have fun with these, lovelies! Happy Friday! :sparkles: :feather:

Yay! Thank you Feathertip for taking this on. I like FFs and always look forward to them.. Thanks to @Nikki-Phoenix for starting this. You both rock!

I want a Catirrel.

  • What’s your favorite dinosaur?
I shudder when thinking about dinosaurs. Our daughter loves them. I guess I’ll go with Velociraptor - it is cute.

  • When were you the most proud of yourself?
When I realized that, as flawed as I am, I could be successful leading people. Not in a great way but in a functional way that belied my horrible starts when I was young.

  • If you could combine two animals into a pet, what would they be? And what would you call your new animal creation?
A cat and a dog. I love the attributes of both but I am allergic to cats. Let’s call it a Chimipaw – a chimera with soft paws and loyal heart

  • Which is better - creamy or crunchy peanut butter?
I love both. Creamy for spreadability and crunchy for the mouth feel in a sandwich. We have both but the creamy always gets used up first. If no one has tried it, put mixed nuts on top of creamy peanut butter in a banana, peanut butter, and jelly sandwich.

  • What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid.
Clown. My big sister would smear cold cream all over my face and then paint me with lipstick and other junk. It took days to get it all off but it was fun.

I liked the stegosaurus. The plates on his back were cool. Now that I’ve grown up, I like the idea of the pterodactyl - it doesn’t exist and never really did: someone took pieces from this and that and made something they wanted to see.

I was in the Who’s Who of American Students in 1986. Mom couldn’t afford to buy the book. It wasn’t until 2024 that I found out the whole thing was a scam to get money.

The activity, music, and intelligence of a bird with the size and cuddle factor of a cat so I don’t roll over and smother it in my sleep. Can’t call it a catbird. That name’s taken. Purrsong? That sounds good.

I’ve gone through phases of each. Now, I can’t do either, though I keep trying, this time of year.

I enjoyed dressing up in saddle shoes, a (unicorn) poodle skirt, and an attempt at a ponytail. I wasn’t allowed to let my hair grow because I was too much of a tomboy to brush my hair.

If the 1950’s was out, then the Civil War style was my go-to. I enjoyed climbing trees in dresses and imagining myself as Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella. Too much cleaning, not enough ball, though I never could dance.

Meow! I want to be part of this before I go, I’ve enjoyed the Fun Fridays a lot, and I’m happy to see them continue :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

What an adorable creature! :smiling_cat_with_heart_eyes: And as a catgirl with ADHD I can also relate :squinting_face_with_tongue:

The iconic Tyrannosaurus Rex. They’re intense, and bite hard. Also relatable :joy: :t_rex:

Every time I’ve been able to be there for someone, and help them with deep and raw issues. When I can help anyone love themselves more and see beauty in the world. :face_holding_back_tears: :pink_heart:

A horse sized duck… wait, Goddess no

Maybe a cat-snake. A fluffy long creature with a cat head that would curl around your arm and purr there :smiling_cat_with_heart_eyes: :snake: I’d have to think of a cute and punny name for it. Cataconda? Purrsel? Snektopuss? :joy: :growing_heart:

I’m allergic, so that’s like asking which flavor of death I like better :joy: :skull: Pass on both.

Halloween wasn’t really a thing where and when I grew up, sadly. Maybe some kind of a sexy witch :face_with_hand_over_mouth: :witch_hat: :heart_on_fire:

I’m loving the replies! You all are making me laugh!

Of course you do. Every home should have one! I do like your Chimipaw, though.

I didn’t know you had a fear/distaste for dinosaurs, Dan! But at least you can find one you think is cute.

A clown costume…? See, I would have been the kid screaming and running from you - my coulrophobia is well documented.

@georgia: I love Purrsong! That’s an awesome animal combination! I love the Civil War style idea for Halloween!

I’d have climbed trees with you - always the tomboy.

@CelestiaMoon - I’m so glad you stuck around to play!

Somehow I knew you’d like the Catirrel. ooo - I like the idea of the Cataconda - sounds soft and ferocious!

Sorry about your allergies… and no Halloween costumes for you… :zipper_mouth_face: I hope I do better by you next time! :hugs: But you would make a great sexy witch! :witch_moon:

  1. What’s your favorite dinosaur?
It would have to be the Plesiosaur – Nessie to you and me
  2. When were you the most proud of yourself?
The miraculous time, way back in 1992, when I entered into my first ever equestrian “one day event” with my horse, Annapolis, and actually won first place in my grade.
  3. If you could combine two animals into a pet, what would they be? And what would you call your new animal creation?
Growing up we always had one or more guinea pigs as pets. So I think a guinea-squirrel might be cute.

  4. Which is better - creamy or crunchy peanut butter?
    Crunchy, all the way
  5. What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid?
We didn’t really do Halloween costumes in England back in the 60’s, but at a Brownie’s fancy dress contest, my mum made me a “harem girl” outfit, of harem pants and a bra top made from two little paper plates that mum painted and glued glitter on, with straps made of elastic. (I was about 8 at the time, so flat plates worked great, lol) thankfully, no photos remain, or at least I hope they haven’t

That’s awesome that you won 1st place! I’ve been lucky to have had 2 horses in my life, and I loved the bond I shared with each of them. But I never showed - that is a lot of work. Congrats to you all these years later!

The Guinea-squirrel is adorable.

Yay! Friday!

It’s pretty much a tie for me between the Triceratops and the Stegosaurus. And yes, I had to look up how to spell them.

When I go out and talk to my doctors, especially if it’s a new one or one I don’t deal with often. I have a difficult time talking to people that I don’t see around much, and it’s always hard for me.

I’m tempted to say a Cabbit. Or a Jackalope. But I think I’d love a cross between a bat and a cat. A black cat with bat wings! What witch wouldn’t love one of those? Although I don’t know what they’d be called. Bcat doesn’t look right. There are not enough letters to make a new name.

I love Creamy. Look up Lewis Black’s thing on Crunchy _ Peanut Butter, and you’ll see why.

Casper the Friendly Ghost. It was a year that it was predicted to be cold and rainy. Well, my Dad couldn’t have me missing out on candy. So he took me to Ron’s Trick Shop downtown, back when downtown was popular enough to have a magic shop. And by magic, I mean magic tricks and novelty items.

I got one of those boxed costumes of Casper. The next day, my Mom took me to Kmart, and I got a white poncho for kids, white gloves, and a white sweatshirt and pants. I was about the only kid out Trick-or-Treating that year. It was pouring the rain, but I could be seen by cars, and the people giving out candy felt sorry for me and gave out handfuls.

I liked Casper at the time, but as I got older, I realized that my parents had done that to make sure I didn’t miss out on Halloween. So that’ll always be my favorite costume.

I want a Catirrel now! And I love the image! And can you imagine the hairballs coming from the trees? That would be hilarious!

Yeah, but it went out with a good cause! Because I bet you got a lot of candy that year!

Aww! What a great sister! And didn’t the cold cream help get the lipstick off?

Is that a Poodle skirt but with a unicorn on it? Because that would be awesome!

I like that one! And I think that Snaketopuss was a bad SyFy movie.

That’s a great costume! Very original. My mom once made me a Maid outfit, and the hat was made out of a bleach bottle. Moms can be very creative!

I have to say, that was the only time we won first place, lol. I have a few blue ribbons for dressage, but that was the only one for eventing, which makes it all the more special.

We all did, lovely. You’re just big enough to say it aloud.

I get it. :people_hugging:

I love it! “The Winged Cat-bat!”

The Casper story is wonderful. Your parents wanted to make sure you had a good Halloween. :jack_o_lantern:

Eye liner and shadow, gross amounts of lipstick, a big ball on my nose. It doesn’t come off for a while. I kept getting crap from school until I stopped looking like an embarrassed Jack Sparrow.

Awww, so am I, and that the fun continues thanks to you :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

So cute and fluffy, what’s not to love? :smiling_cat_with_heart_eyes: :chipmunk:

It’s okay, the catirrel and other cute critters more than made up for it  :hugs: I hope I’ll see another Fun Friday, depends on how many days I still have left of my subscription.

To Spells8, not life… that would be dark! :black_heart:

Awww, I was hoping you’d say that! :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes: :growing_heart:

Adorable! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I like Bcat :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes: Though someone might mistake it for :honeybee: :black_cat: instead of :bat: :black_cat: by the name :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Are we talking :octopus: :snake: or some kind of a slithery succubus? :face_with_hand_over_mouth: Either way I think I had tentacles in the brain when thinking of this one – happens! :jellyfish:

Oh, my! That’s definitely a big one to win!

I’m sure you miss not riding anymore as much as I do. I’d love to do it, but would probably end up in traction. :joy:

Yes I do miss it, but I would need to be hoisted in and out of the saddle these days!
