Fun Friday (Part 2)

I have always wondered why they vanished from England but are still thriving in Australia… totally jealous because I loved Woolworths growing up, the pick n mix was awesome!

I sound like a dude. Seriously, I really don’t like my talking voice lol! But I may have a look for it, for old times’ sake  Good to see you too sweetie, I’m in the middle of a new battle but always try to make time to pop in, don’t always succeed though lol :waving_hand:

Happy Friday, O Fabrous Witches! I’ve been busy all day, errands, cleaning, and at the moment have my favorite witchy simmer pot going in the kitchen. :witch_cauldron: It smells amazing!

I hope everyone is ready for the weekend! :sparkling_heart:

Here are this week’s questions:

  1. Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? How?

  2. What’s your favorite sleeping position?

  3. What animal best represents inspiration to you?

  4. Do you like avocados? Plain, or in guacamole?

  5. Has a Friday the 13th ever been unlucky for you?

I’ll be back later to check in! Have a beautiful rest of the day!

Not really. I’m not interested in relationships, and my Dad passed away on the 13th, so it’s not a good holiday for me. Add in the one and only Valentine’s Day Dance I went to they played Islands in the Stream for over two hours, and I’m traumatized.

I like to sleep on my left side. Only my shoulder doesn’t like it anymore. So I’m sleeping on my back. When my hands get cold, I try to tuck them under my bum. It makes waking up quickly to go pee fun!

The first thing that came to mind was an ant. There’s an old song that has this as just part of the lyrics:

Just what makes that little old ant
Think he’ll move that rubber tree plant
Anyone knows an ant, can’t
Move a rubber tree plant

But he’s got high hopes
He’s got high hopes
He’s got high apple pie
In the sky hopes.

So any time your feelin’ low stead of lettin’ go
Just remember that ant
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant
Oops there goes another rubber tree plant.

Ants don’t stop. Anyone who has stepped into a fire ant mound can tell you that. They can lift much more than you’d think, and they all work together as a team. They can even figure out how to make rafts to cross streams and rivers sometimes. Very cool.

NOPE! Never really liked the texture or the smell. I gag just thinking of tasting it. Urgh.

Not really. Monday the 13ths have always gotten me. I’m always backwards, it seems.

  • Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? How?
Not really. I did sneak out today and got a couple of bunches of flowers. The SO just saw them and asked who the second bunch was for.

  • What’s your favorite sleeping position?
On my left side. No matter how I fall asleep, I wake up on my left side

  • What animal best represents inspiration to you?
Spiritually a baby dragon. Otherwise, puppies playing always inspire - I always want to be that carefree. .

    (AI)

  • Do you like avocados? Plain, or in guacamole?
Guacamole - I’m still trying to figure out avocado toast. I think it is a scam.

  • Has a Friday the 13th ever been unlucky for you?
I’m not saying. I don’t want to jinx myself!

I would have left after 30 minutes… maybe 15 minutes!

My parents were in the PTA and had signed up to work the dance. I was stuck there. ALL NIGHT LONG.

I buy myself a unicorn heart. Need the chocolate to medicate depression. Sometimes I watch movies. Tomorrow, I’m going to the Chinese New Year’s dance at the local multinational grocery store. This should be a rare good day for Valentine’s Day. Hoping to find seaweed crackers, which no one seems to carry anymore. I’ll share seaweed with my driver’s grandson, too.

Fetal, right side down. I begin the night on the left side so I can read, and switch to the right side for deeper sleep. Must have feet uncovered, but must wear at least a sheet over the rest of me, even in the hottest of summer.

Unicorn. We are having issues, lately, though.

I used to believe I could write anywhere until I moved out of Indiana. Somehow, the inspiration dried up pretty quickly. It suggests that abuse was my inspiration.

Salted. Sometimes I put slices on a sandwich, but I usually regret it because they tend to slip out! :joy: Which reminds me, the avocados I picked up at the store Wednesday were softer than usual: I’ll have to pay closer attention to them. Thanks for the reminder!

No. I’m pretty easy on expectations. The worst I had was no experience at all, when I’d hoped for a modicum of chaos.

I’ve watched others freak out, though. Just got a phone call that my driver has to dog sit tomorrow and she was upset that I’d cancel going to the dance just so I wouldn’t have to spend time with that particular dog. She’s been a wild child since she got spayed, causing lots of damage so she cannot be left alone anymore while the family is at work or school. I have no problems with her at the moment, though she is known to scratch people badly. I’ll simply keep my arms covered as best I can and use my loudest, lowest pitch voice to get her attention. Be Alpha, whereas the rest of the family lets her go with barely a flick on the nose- mainly because she’s too fast to flick. Who says someone can’t be everywhere at once? That dog can!

Torture! Cruel and unusual punishment! Didn’t they know any other love songs?!? Sure, that one was popular, but sheesh!

Inspiration. It is fickle. It can come back and it doesn’t have to be from trauma. Let it simmer and take advantage of sparks as they come… and they surely will.

Thanks. It’s been since 2007, now, the longest dry spell in my life, but I’m used to it, now. Every once in a while, I attempt to invite inspiration, just to find out if there is a chance it’s over, yet. I don’t let it pass undetected or let the muses feel unwanted.

:face_with_peeking_eye: Well, who wouldn’t be?!? That’s a special weird kind of torture! Maybe they wanted to get everyone out quickly.

I remember this song! :musical_notes:  It’s so sweet and positive, and easy to sing.

And now you’ve given me an earworm, girl! :worm:

Aww, that sounds sweet - sounds like you’re trying to celebrate just a little bit.

I didn’t even think about dragons being inspirational - but I can see baby dragons, sort of. Puppies I can totally understand!

It’s also a mess! Don’t ask how I know. :joy:

It sounds like fun! I hope you have a good time!

I agree with @dan3, sometimes a major change will kind of still the creative spark. Little baby steps, like affirmations, might be all you need for awhile.

You’re most welcome! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I hope the dog is on best behavior! Go have fun!

That sounds like fun! I hope you have a great day!

Around here, they get into repeating the same song, over and over. I believe they had Billie Jean on repeat for several hours. And I once had to withstand 6 hours of an 8-hour shift with nothing but Achy Breaky Heart. And people wonder why I’m agoraphobic.

I wish I could say I was joking about the above things, but I’m totally not. If Billy Ray Cyrus had walked into Gino’s that day, I would have attacked him with a dull pizza cutter.

Like I said, they seem to do that around here. I can listen to a song maybe two or three times. Tops. Then I have to move on, no matter how much I love the song.

Oops! Sorry! But it’s a very easy song to remember!

And one of Old Blue Eyes’ better films.

That’s it exactly! Funny, I have no recollection of Frank Sinatra being the sad Dad in this film, though I remember the character singing the sing with his son. It’s a happy kind of tearjerker, as I recall. Thanks for the memory! :sparkling_heart:

You know, I totally believe you. There are people who don’t mind having songs on a continuous loop, but I’m with you! The best way to ruin something I really like is to hear it overplayed. And if it’s not a favorite…? Then it turns into a blaring horn from hell! :joy:

Yeah, same here. I think that’s why earworms get me; I drive myself crazy. Weird Al songs are good for stopping earworms. Weasel Stomping Day is a good one for that!

I know I am fabulously late. It’s been a busy week.

:herb: For the most part. This year, my daughter made me a couple homemade cards, and we will make brownies and our special dinner later. It takes me a minute to get motivated these days.

:herb: I move all over the place normally but since my OSA diagnosis, I have been sleeping on my left side. I hold on to a pillow and stuff a pillow behind me, so I don’t slip on to my back which is the worst position for the OSA. I’m waiting for my referrals to come in so I can get the treatment I need.

:herb:Out of all my favorite animals, I’d have to say dolphins are the most inspiring to me. They are so loving, intelligent, and amaze me every time I see one. They are such resilient creatures, and their smiles could light up the hardest heart!

:herb: I love avocados! I can eat them with everything! I miss having my own tree! I have 6 sitting in my fridge right now!

:herb: I love Friday the 13th! It’s always been a lucky day for me. The number 13 is my favorite number because it is an oddball and has such a bad reputation lol!

And always worth the wait! :hugs:

This sounds very special, and I hope you both enjoy the dinner and brownies! :face_savoring_food:

I hope it’s soon, Sis.

Agreed! I love this choice! :dolphin:

You know, I think you’ve mentioned this before! 13 is your lucky number! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

As usual lately, I forgot to come answer my own questions!

~Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day? How?

Not a celebration per se, like a birthday or anniversary. We did have a wonderful dinner, since the outside temperatures were kind and let hubby fire up the grill - a rare event in February! We had bacon-wrapped filet mignon, roasted red potatoes and a salad. Oh, and red wine. :wine_glass: But no chocolate! :frowning:

~What’s your favorite sleeping position?

Start off on my left side. Apparently a lot of us do, from what I’m reading! Usually wake up on the right side.

~What animal best represents inspiration to you?

Snakes! :snake: Who else literally gets to shed their skins regularly, to start again with a brand new skin? I love this living metaphor and feel inspiration from it.

Do you like avocados? Plain, or in guacamole?

I love avocados any way you want to make them! I love them plain, in a taco or a sandwich, and love guacamole.

Has a Friday the 13th ever been unlucky for you?

Nope - other than having people comment on it or share folklore, it’s never affected me in a negative way.
