Fun Friday (Part 2)

I definitely prefer Fun Friday
Almost yielded and ordered a latex dress I couldn’t afford, but caught myself at the last second

I faintly remember dreaming a black and white dream or two, but mostly they have been in color  And sometimes the colors can be quite psychedelic :face_with_spiral_eyes: :rainbow_heart:

That’s an excellent question!
Alarm clock would be the first culprit. Then whatever plans I might have for the day. I’ve become quite skilled in resisting hunger for breakfast, sleep with me and I’ll very likely be the last one getting up, especially if there are cuddles involved

Who? :owl: :first_quarter_moon_face:

I just had regular springs that I disassembled from my parents’ ballpoint pens and electrical switches… You know the small rectangular kind they have in control rooms in old action and war movies, that have a tiny light bulb inside to show something’s active. Think the ones I took apart actually came from a console in an ATC tower. Pretty cool, huh? :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

What did I do with them? Used in my Lego projects, making buttons and switches of my own, and traps for miniature obstacle courses :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

Sneaky answer: whatever cancels the noise of my footsteps :joy:

Practical answer: something that I wouldn’t get tired of hearing the millionth time… is there such a song? Pirates of the Caribbean theme? How long until it started affecting both me and the people around me in a way that I would end up with a ship and a crew. Wouldn’t be the worst possible outcome :face_with_hand_over_mouth: :pirate_flag:

ā€œA song that best describes meā€ answer: Think this one :grinning_cat_with_smiling_eyes:

Yes! Last night I dreamed of a giant orange and brown blizzard. Or I was tiny, and I was regular-sized. Either way, it was in color!

Umm, having to go potty.

I’m my body likes to be a night owl, but my brain likes to be a morning person. So I just stumble through the day, and in the afternoons I’m usually good.

Three days, tops. Maybe more if it were a plastic slinky. I was always trying to turn my metal slinkies into something from sci-fi.

Ooh! That’s a difficult one. Hmm. I want to say Iron by Within Temptation. But to tell the truth, White and Nerdy by Weird Al fits me better.

See, I destroyed my own. It was a belt buckle like for the Tomorrow People (the good 70s’ series), or a force field like on Star Trek. A magic rope. I didn’t have but like two steps going up to my porch, so the whole going up and down stairs was overrated for me.

Nice choice!

Great idea! I never thought of that one!

I was waiting for these!! And the answers are…(drumroll please)

I do dream in color. I sometimes will have dreams that I’m not sure are real life or a dream until I wake up. I once had a repeating black and white dream, but besides that one, I always dream in color.

During the week, me needing money. On the weekends, sometimes the need to be social, if not, I don’t get out of bed.

Lol, @Feathertip I’d have to fully copy your answer because until I saw yours, I didn’t even think about it that way, but we live the same life. Though I would say that I’m 51% a night owl because if I’m doom scrolling on my phone, I can do that until the sun comes up and not even know it and wouldn’t have been tired the whole time doing it.

I had a couple and they were always rainbow color. I can’t say for certain how long I would have them for. My last one was with me for a while because I am kind of a pack rat when it comes to toys that I don’t have outgrow, and I would find myself playing with it even in college. I would have to guess that my mother threw out once I moved out the house, so wow, a long time then.

Lol, I’m going to have to say that it is either between the intro song from the show ā€˜Vikings’ when it comes to me being in teacher mode and my students see me or the intro song to ā€˜Bob’s Burgers’ because I don’t know what’s going to happen, but it might be funny and ordinary.

Absolutely. Color, sound, flavor when appropriate, scent, feelings, touch, all the senses.

Gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now.

I’m always up long before Albus, but that doesn’t mean I don’t nap during our share time.

I am an early bird. Yet… I do get up in the middle of the night and watch videos. My rhythm seems to be 3-4 hours of sleep at a time. If I’m feeling my best, I may get lucky and sleep 6 hours in a row and then no nap.

I had a plastic one and a metal one. No idea what to do with them (both stairwells were unfinished, behind closed doors), so I gave them away intact.

ooh. That could get annoying really fast. It did happen recently, though. I had a CD playing which I had found on the free table: a mixtape of Rachel Platten, Katy Perry, and a few unknowns with a self esteem theme. Every time I passed my bedroom door, I heard ā€œYou’ll Never Be Alone.ā€

Aww! Let me put my head close to his tummy. Get some claws in my scalp.

  • Do you dream in color?
Yep. A friend told me when I was a kid that not everyone did. However, I just looked it up and apparently it is not unusual.

  • What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Our dog. She gets up… we all get up. Fortunately, she isn’t an early bird… she sleeps in often enough and looks like she has a hangover for the first 30 minutes.

  • Are you a night owl or a morning person?
If I’m up at 5 am, it is because I was up all night. Definitely not a morning person

  • Did you have a Slinky as a kid? If so, how long did you have it before you ruined it?
Oh, yes. I had it a while - then I found you could make a radio antenna out of one and it became a victim of one of my many experiments.

  • If you could have a song play every time you entered a room, what would it be?
This is hard. I’m gonna cheat. I’ll vote for it to be situational. and I want to use the soundtrack from Gunpowder Milkshake <— proof I’m a geek.

*sneaks in the back door

Let’s see how many of these I can answer before K needs me :see_no_evil_monkey: on my mark, get set, go!

Fave holiday probably Christmas, just because of the feels, the whole goodwill towards all humans which, for most humans, only seems to last on the day itself so I try to savour it!

Yes I love bread, it is fantastic and I could live on it because sandwiches make the possibilities endless! I can sit indoors and snack on a piece of Kingsmill 50/50 bread and be very happy.

Fave time is whenever I’m unconscious because for those few, precious, delicious moments I am not thinking, I am not cleaning, I am not mummying, I’m not doing anything except breathing.

Fave thing to cook… these days, anything quick with the minimal cleanup possible.

Maybe you should be asking, ā€˜when is the last time I ordered a hot dog sandwich?’

Aside from my daughter, the best gift was probably the art of creative cursing. A boyfriend once told someone to kiss his tailpipe, and my mind was blown. I particularly enjoy cursing in desserts and medieval curses.

Putting myself last.

Okay, now I’m asking…what has Feather been smoking? I bet you were that kid in school telling other kids to eat glue to ā€œsee what happensā€:see_no_evil_monkey::rofl:

I turn the taco - turning my neck usually results in a symphony of cricks and cracks lol. And neverrrr - I don’t pack my taco to the edge, much less likely to fall out

Mary Poppins plus Sister Mary Clarence = Me.

Reading minds would suck.

Purple all day everyday!

Whatever meal I was able to eat while still hot and without K trying to poke at it, feed me, or otherwise get my attention!

Nah, I sang for decades and never once in the shower, it wasn’t a thing in our house because we’re all singers lol.

Errrrrm… probably sage, smells like home but I don’t know why because we never ever had sage in my house growing up.

Brb

Round 2…

Ohhh so many fave memories woman, you want me to pick one?! Probably the split second between seeing my daughter being handed to me for the first time and holding her for the first time. One minute I’m thinking ā€˜this is my human and she’s so small I’m gonna break her how do I operate this thing’ to ā€˜ohhh myyy goshhh you’re awesome’

Again, so many choices! I wanted to be a hacker once upon a time… don’t ask lol.

I used play several instruments - piano, violin, guitar, bass guitar, drums, accordion - but the one that really fascinated me was the harp. They were too big for me!

Okay I draw the line here… I cannot choose one, that would be disloyal to the others!

Why am I carrying pigeons… can’t they fly? They should be carrying me! I’ll take 10 to carry me and 8 for K - I’d order more than necessary just in case.

Usually yes, when I dream it’s in colour.

My daughter, either figuratively or literally.

If I had the choice, I would stay up at night because the world is a little less noisy than usual. But usually by the time I’ve got K to sleep I’m 30 seconds from falling asleep myself!

I never ruined a Slinky in my life lol, I loved mine. Have you ever heard that joke - slinky are like most people; good for nothing until you push them down a flight of stairs :see_no_evil_monkey:

Choices choices! Sometimes I’m in the mood of the intro from BeyoncĆ©s Crazy In Love, sometimes I’m in a Rollin’ (Limp Biskit) kinda mood, sometimes anything by Sean Paul will do it, and there’s something about Whitney Houston’s SuperBowl performance of the Star Spangled Banner which just gives me the feels, and no I am not American but she smashed the shizzle out of a national anthem, made me wish it had verses lol.

Love, hugs and sparkles to all!

Think you broke a record, well done! :sparkling_heart:

Genius! I need to pick this up too. Though I kinda do that already. My favorites are ā€œfudgecakesā€ and ā€œborschtā€

I want to know too

Strange how no one’s picked up on this yet

Me too, until I figured that being a witch is even cooler, and less likely to land me in jail

That’s so dark  :smiling_face_with_horns:

You’re fun~ :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :purple_heart:

You have always struck me as having excellent taste.

But we all know you would have rocked it!

That sounds awesome, really.

Cool!!!

Wow! It doesn’t seem like it was a nightmare, kinda fun and dramatic!

:joy:

I love it when I have my recurring dream! I can’t remember if it’s in color, I haven’t had it for awhile now.

You just nailed it for me, too, sister! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I never had one of the rainbow ones - they look so pretty! We always had the silver ones. I bet the rainbow ones look awesome walking down the steps.

Great answer!

Yay, Nikki! I’m so happy K gave you some time to come play with us!

See, you made my argument better than I ever could. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Nevah! And I never ate glue (or sniffed it, for that matter). That’s my story and I’m sticking (see what I did there) to it!

Beautiful.

 I’ve not heard it before and now, I’m not likely to forget it!

Hugz! :people_hugging:

Fantastic!

There are plenty of adults who thrive on four-hour stints of sleep at a time, so you’re not alone! Six hours must feel like a luxury of sleep time for you!

Well, good on you to give them away since you couldn’t get to the stairs. They’re really at their best when you can get them to flip over and over (walk) down steps!

 That’s my kind of dog!

Somehow, this totally fits! I see you started experimenting at a young age.

It IS a hard question! But we can get away with cheating here at Fun Friday, so your answer is just fine.

I love that joke! I used to call a hated co-worker Slinky. I don’t think he got it.

I liked to play with glue. Maybe that explains some things about me! LOL! I’d always put glue on my hands, dry it off, and then peel it. I could waste half a bottle doing that. I was easily amused.

  • Do you dream in color?
Hmmm - I honestly can’t say I’ve really thought about it. BUT - having said that, I think I would be more likely to notice if my dreams were in black and white. So I will say that I do dream in color.
  • What gets you out of bed in the morning?
Usually a cat demanding to be fed or, worse, hearing a cat puking on the carpet
  • Are you a night owl or a morning person?
More of a morning person than a night owl. I get up hours before Eric does, and I’m usually falling asleep by 10 – but I’m often awake in the middle of the night, playing solitaire or scrolling on my phone until I can get back to sleep.
  • Did you have a Slinky as a kid? If so, how long did you have it before you ruined it?
I had a deprived childhood - and never had a slinky! LOL j/k about the deprived part.
  • If you could have a song play every time you entered a room, what would it be?
I would prefer to slink into a room unnoticed than have a fanfare everytime I entered, so I’ll just leave this one.

That’s a good point! I know I dream in color because I tend to remember seeing red items, depending on the dream. I agree, we’d notice more if we never saw anything.

That’s a bad way to start the day! I’ve been there, too!

That’s fair. BUT - you could also consider a quiet, unassuming piece of music, something gentle with a harp, or a string quartet! :harp: :musical_notes:

I’ll admit, the only thing that came to mind at first was ManEater by Hall and Oates! Probably not the best choice…

In my early modeling days (10-12 yrs), my friends and I built balsa airplanes. The glue was VERY stinky - later taken off the market - and it would make a thin film of plastic on your fingers. There was something satisfying about peeling it off.

I grew up when the first V series was popular. So whoever played the aliens during lunch usually got to glue their face and pull their ā€œskinā€ off later. Fun times!

Here are this week’s questions:

  1. What type of art or crafting do you like to play with? Share some pictures and let us see your creations! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Photography first. I also do drawing/painting in both digital and physical formats. While I can do water colors, I like to do airbrush. It takes a while to get it going but it is satisfying.

(airbrush)

(digital drawing)

(photography)

(mixed media and collage)

  1. What is your favorite flightless bird?

Emu - TV commercials have locked it into my mind

  1. When you put on your socks, do you start with the left or the right side?

I don’t wear socks much but I would probably start with my right… or is that the order I take them off?

  1. Do you switch this order for your shoes?

Probably.

  1. What was the last tool or item you bought for your altar or practice?

100 tea bags. (really) They are great for holding herbs and scents. The original purchase was to make lavender bags for our pillows.
