Fun Friday (Part 3)

I will definitely check it out. Thanks, my friend! :heart_hands: :sparkling_heart:

It’s non-competitive. No one loses. Perfect for psych offices and ice breakers. No speed, no pre-defined ending, no pressure to answer if a question is too personal, and you can even think up your own questions at times, but only if you want to.

More fun questions! Yay!

  1. As a child I loved Christmas cookies, as an adult I have to say: none. I“m not a cookie crumbler  My weakness are soft, juicy cakes.

  2. I guess dogs. Maybe because while I was travelling across Europe doing street art my two dogs were always with me.

  3. Strong NO. It“s proven by now that actually no energy gets saved at all (especially since energy saving LED lights are used). It just confuses my biorhythm.

  4. Elephant…I like Elephants. But IĀ“d rather be friends with an Elephant, they are very intelligent, social beings and empathetic towards people, they have a bond with.

  5. Ah, this is funny…I donĀ“t like games. Like…none. IĀ“ve tried several, but none of them were really interesting and some of them take ages to finish and also…I hate to say it, but IĀ“m so introverted, I really canĀ“t enjoy being around other people that much. My social battery is drained once IĀ“m done with work for the week.

Have a nice weekend everyone! :purple_heart:

That’s a great pic! And dogs are all-around great animals!

I have never played Monopoly. The Game of Life was the big game in our house as a kid.

I might have liked it then. Thanks!

Elephants are great! They are just amazing creatures. They have funerals for their dead and everything.

Can’t argue with that! :face_savoring_food:

My main weakness is for egg custard, pretty much any way you want to serve it to me.

That’s definitely an adventure! :dog:

They are amazing animals, in so many ways. :elephant:

Nothing wrong with being self-aware! Of course the games are secondary to being around other players, so this makes perfect sense. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@Amethyst - I could watch that happy little goat all day! Love love love!!!

I played that one a lot too! And Operation.

The Game of Life got me ready for real life, because I almost always ended up in debt. Operation gave me my first panic attack. That buzzer was loud!

With the Game of Life, I was always scared about having kids lol! That buzzer scared me too every time I touched a side lol!

I’d lose my peg children, and Mom and Dad would tease me about calling CPS. LOL!

It was loud! There was no way to sneakily get anything pulled out if you touched those sides.

I think I still have flashbacks wherever I see a red light and a pair of tweezers in the same place!

I’m wondering if we had the Game of Life in the UK when I was growing up. I don’t remember it at all. But then, we weren’t really a board-game-playing family, so who knows.

It was like a big map with a spin wheel in it. And the pieces were little cars with pink and blue peg people. And you’d land on paying taxes, the roof leaked, or an unexpected baby girl. Or the lottery if you were very lucky.

Seriously, I have no idea why I liked that game when I was young.

Well, looky here -not just another round of Fun Friday, but another Friday the 13th! It’s a good thing we’ve already examined that and say a collective: humbug!

Are we ready for a new Fun Friday? Let’s go!

  1. What’s your favorite fried food?

  2. How close is Spring in your part of the world?

  3. What animal best represents the Earth to you?

  4. Are you afraid of heights?

  5. Have you ever had a yoyo? If so, could you ā€œwalk the dog?ā€

I’ll go first today!

My fave fried food is potatoes - also known as French fries! Hot, crispy and with just the right balance of salt and grease, they are delectable and somehow icky at the same time, but so good I don’t care. :winking_face_with_tongue:

Spring teased us last week with wonderful warm temperatures and lots of sun. :sun: This is what we call a ā€œfool’s springā€ period, since you already know it won’t last. We’re in the middle of a nasty wind advisory at the moment, gale-force gusts with some rain. My backyard friends are struggling to cling to the feeders! :bird: :leaf_fluttering_in_wind:

The animal that best represents the Earth to me is…the Bear. Bears can walk on two legs if they need to, but also are fast and graceful when they drop to all fours, close to the ground. Also, the whole notion of a Winter hibernation is fascinating to me! They literally curl up and are protected by the Earth while they hibernate - there’s a trust there. I love this.

I’m not afraid of heights in general. I think the closest I came to getting a bit freaked out was during a hike in the North Rim of the Grand Canyon. We came to a section of the trail that left the woodsy part, came out and went around an enormous rock outcropping. It was barely two feet wide, and the Park Service had pounded in some short hand holds - not a full scale rail, just something to grab onto every few yards, and it was a loooong way down that rock face! :open_mouth: So let’s just say, I * respect* height and am careful when I have to be!

My older brother had a few yo-yos and he could walk the dog for a couple of feet before it fell over. All I could master was going up and down a few times. It was something that definitely required some practice and, even though I liked them, I wasn’t going to spend the time needed to do tricks. But they’re pretty cool to watch when someone is good with them! :yoyo:

I’ll be back later to check in with everyone - have a beautiful Friday, lovelies! :sparkling_heart:

Chicken was the first thing to pop into my mind, but fish and shrimp are right up there. I buy fried chicken in bulk and freeze it, separated into meals, for later- once a week after strenuous exercise.

Clouds don’t seem to drop temps as much anymore. Our normal winds have not hit as yet, so we shall see. We had a windy day, day before yesterday, but it was only 30 mph, which is a light breeze around here at this time of year. Forecasts state we are expecting clouds for the next 3 days, but I’m skeptical at this point. Lately, a full day forecast turns out to be partly cloudy. No meatballs, yet! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

The earth shaking elephant. They have special burial grounds, grieve their lost family and friends, can be tender and gentle as well as strong and defensive, and they don’t forget who treated them well or poorly.

Side trivia: Mom always said that my first words were elephant and flamingo. She refused to use ā€œbaby talkā€ in the household and followed Dr Leonard’s books on baby development. Does that date me? I’ve seen CGI parrots tell police women their expiration dates are up. If it were a male of the human race, he would have been arrested or slugged.

Hmm. After looking straight down the side of a mountain out the car window at 3 while driving through the colors of a rainbow, looking straight down over the Grand Canyon’s south rim, calling a dump truck in Meteor Crater a toy at the age of 4, and asking why there was a pencil over the water while flying over the Golden Gate Bridge at the age of 6, I shouldn’t be. Yet I am. As long as I have something to hold onto, I’m ok; but don’t ask me to cross a log! I will crawl. Mom was always terrified of heights and it seems she taught me her fear.

How dost one keep the cord from being rolled up onto the yoyo when walking the dog? I always ended up bent over, catching the yoyo ready for the next fling… yet I could never get the plastic to come back to my hand! :joy: I think I still have one in my mini bag of toys for positive magical energy.

Woohoo! Yes, I“m ready! :sparkles:

Every once in a while I“ll be having a Wiener Schnitzel with potato salad.
It certainly is not healthy but it is soooo good! :face_savoring_food:

We had warm, sunny days and the trees are already having teeny tiny leaves (so cute), so I would say: pretty close! Of course the weather can change back to cooler temps any day, this is just the time of year.

The earthworm, actually. I mean, they live in the soil, they eat and digest it, and they contribute very much to the health and richness of it.

Number 4…IĀ“m a typical taurus, so I prefer to have my feet on stable ground. IĀ“m not afraid in the sense that I couldnĀ“t cross a bridge or climb a ladder…but IĀ“m certainly not looking for activities that would include heights.

I“ve had a yoyo as a child, but I have to admit that I found it boring. Same goes for diabolos or other juggling utensils.

  • What’s your favorite fried food?
Hamburgers, steaks, wings - it is situational - for example, a perfect hamburger can ace a less than perfect steak. Generally we don’t eat a lot of fried food but half the time we do have something., We use our air fryer quite a bit.

  • How close is Spring in your part of the world?
Spring is a neurotic season. We had snow day before yesterday, 19F. 50F yesterday. 40F now. A week ago it was 70F. How close? I would say solid Spring weather will be in April. Although we’ve had snow in April, it is usually minor.

  • What animal best represents the Earth to you?
    Ouroboros? Jƶrmungandr?

  • Are you afraid of heights?
I’m cautious. When I was young and immortal I worked on bridges in the Summer. Painted water towers, etc. If I’m not exposed to heights for a while, I have to settle my mind and get rid of the nerves - which may have been the birth of my meditation gig.

  • Have you ever had a yoyo? If so, could you ā€œwalk the dog?ā€
    Yep. I could walk the dog and use the yoyo. - but not at the same time. ;-}

Yep. Same as us. Winter advisory for the weekend. Driving snow, winds, ice… Near record high temps one week and near record lows the next. It’s March!

Hmm, deep-fried is French Fries. Fast Food French Fries, that are all hot and salty! Yum! Pan-fried would be simple grilled chicken.

Well, it’s trying to get warmer, and I saw my first robin! But I see no flowers or shoots springing up, and the trees haven’t even thought about budding yet. So it’ll be a couple of weeks. Sigh.

Hmm, I think of ground creatures, like moles. Rabbits, even foxes, all burrow into the ground. Badgers. But I think the mole is on the top of my list.

Halfway. I am afraid of edges and falling off them. Even driving close to the edge of a narrow road can get me. But I’ve been up on tall buildings, and it’s not bothered me. But that was enclosed in glass.

Sort of. I used to be able to go for about six feet and then my Yo-yo dog died. Poor yo-yo.

I promise, I didn’t peel before I answered! Really!

Oh! Good choice!

Nice one! They do dust baths, too, don’t they? I think they do.

Nice! I like it when the trees are all fuzzy looking!

LOL! Good one!

Y’all, I just realized something! The next Full Moon? It’s on April 1st! :winking_face_with_tongue:
