Yes, they can be. I don’t blame you for avoiding them. I use them only as a rest from other activities, but I can get lost in their world and find 3 hours have vanished.

They one near us still has the park and order through the speaker (only about 8 or 10 places). However, they get used quite a bit. I like their milkshakes and their breakfast burritos. Before their last price rise, I used to buy burritos 6 at a time and freeze them.

Oh, wow! That sounds like you’re a gamesmaster! I always was awful at games. Plus we didn’t buy Clue for at home, so I tried to play it at school but it was hard since most of the weapons were missing.

July was an interesting month. No, things did NOT go as planned, starting with the power outage on July 3rd - right before the 4th of July holiday weekend. In my little city, July 4th is a big deal. They hold a little parade, plant US flags in everyone’s yard (no small feat!), and shoot off fireworks from the golf course. The storms and power outage put a damper on quite a bit of that, as people were dealing with fallen trees, debris everywhere, and storing all the extra food purchased for out of town visitors. A mess! Power came back after three days, after the holiday was over and food was mostly ruined.
Also heard back from the wayward landscaper this month, who had the nerve to suggest that I had somehow left her hanging. I quoted our last discussion to her to remind her of reality, and then asked for a quote - which after 5 months, I still was waiting for. Haven’t heard a word from her since! 
It’s been weird. I’ve moved on.
Also dealt with heavy smoke from the Canadian wildfires, just as our temperatures lowered from heat waves, and things seemed back to normal. Couldn’t catch a break with July’s weather! The last week was nice, and I was still able to care for butterflies, birds, my garden - and made a new friend, the Mama wild turkey with her 3 chicks.
I grew up with dogs. We also had a cat, parakeets (budgies), a gerbil, and other assorted critters. My mom tended to like terriers the best, so I’d say most of the dogs were purebreds.
As an adult, I adopted a Pug from a friend who was divorced, and moving into a place where he couldn’t take Odin. I’d known Odin since he was a puppy, so I was fine with taking him.
He was quite a character, and every day brought a laugh from his mischievous personality.
Note: I did NOT put this thing on him - he was visiting my sister in law, who thought it was a cute idea. Not sure how much he appreciated this indignity, but he sat for a picture.
And yes- that tongue always hung out of the side of his mouth. Always. When he slept, it dried out in the air and looked like a shriveled piece of bacon. He was a mess, shed like crazy and chased away every mailman who dared approach our door. He lived long for a Pug - 16. Still miss that boy.
I did very little to celebrate Lammas! Worked outside most of the day, staked sunflowers, re-potted some herbs. We ended up not cooking at all - ordered in some delicious Mediterranean food. I had pita bread with baba ganoush and a lamb kebab. Does that count? 
A kid thing - we played a lot of Monopoly! I was usually the first one out, being the youngest and easily taken advantage of. My mom loved Yahtzee, dice and score keeping, which was fun. As an adult I’m not much on board games - we have a backgammon set around here somewhere but haven’t played for a long time.
A lot! I have a window over my kitchen sink, so while washing or prepping food nearby, I can keep an eye on the back yard and my bird feeders. I like to sit in my sun room with the sliding glass doors and look outside, too. I watch the birds and butterflies quite a bit. This past week, I loved watching Mama turkey and the chicks running around.

My driver doesn’t do lamb, so I miss gyros the most.
I’d like to think I would, too. More than likely, I’d be keeping myself busy indoors, though. Even with glasses, I spent most of my time writing. Ever since my glasses broke during Covid, I just don’t wear them anymore, even with new ones last fall. I guess I taught myself to use the equipment I was given rather than try to improve it. Glasses don’t improve the loss of 3D vision, and that seems to have been the only reason I was prescribed corrective eye ware: I couldn’t see the tennis ball approaching me when Mom wanted me out of the house for summer break.

I don’t either, but I wanna see Godzilla Minus Zero later on this year, so I’d rather it didn’t happen. Plus, I don’t wanna make Sally or Jessie clean up my crap.

As your City was badly affected the Officials might surprise you all in next year’s 4th July weekend to make up for the loss of this Year you never know.
Yes it is the best way to be and you will find a better Landscaping Company who will not let you down so badly. I would look at it as a blessing in disguise as if it was not as you wanted it would be extremely hard to put it right.

I think that most families had Monopoly everyone I knew did.
My Boot/Utility Room Window looks out to my back garden. I always look when I am either feeding my dogs or putting my laundry on. I must say that I don’t have ducks or Mama Turkey and young, other visitors like you. It must be lovely to watch what they do normally I would be watching for longer than a few minutes.

There comes a time when all we can do is realize we have done our best and leave the rest. I’m to that point, at the moment. It’s not a mess, just life.
We use a certain amount of stuff every day, which will never go away. The trick is to simplify while we can and leave the rest as a reminder that we existed. No matter how temporary the reminder is, it is our own form of pyramid or statue in our honor. Within that “stuff” is represented our life purpose, all the care we put into the people with whom we shared our time, the things we learned along the way, the lessons we leave behind for those who “follow,” and the questions we didn’t get to.
It is not up to us to ensure those who clean receive these messages: some will, and some won’t. That’s on them. We left behind what we could to encourage others just because we needed encouragement from those items, too.
Hmmm. Watching a cat in the wild would be interesting in that they are not as influenced by human interaction. We do tend to spoil our cohabitants, creating the very attitude we use to define them. If they are wild, do they still have the attitude? Some are not able to handle our forms of care and spoiling; others are unable to keep up the same lifestyle and change to reflect the lives they have.

Happy Friday, lovelies! 
It is with severe regret that I must inform you that there will be no Fun Friday this week. I’m leaving this morning to go pick up my mom and we’re heading out for a long weekend to visit my niece in Northern Michigan.
The Great Lakes are natural wonders and must be seen to be really appreciated. Their size and beauty - and the fact that they’re fresh water (descendants of the former Ice Age glaciers) is amazing.
I’m going to make this as fun for Mom as possible. She’s 99 and this is likely to be her last major trip.
