Greetings from the PNW

Hello! I’m new. First off, a few tidbits about me: I’m an artist (Traditional and Digital mediums as well as Fiber arts, mainly crochet). I enjoy reading (Thrillers, horror, fantasy and historical fiction) and taking care of my collection of over 40 house plants (Succulents and Tropicals - separated of course!) as well as my outdoor herb and flower garden.

I consider myself a Green Witch (what gave that away, lol!). Although I have called myself a Witch for some time, I am always still learning and improving my craft. I felt called at a very young age (13? 15? Thereabouts!) to Wicca and have never looked back.

What am I doing here? Well, a bit of a short story. Recently I just had a horrible online experience with someone who turned out to be not so wholesome. It was a very emotionally and mentally draining experience. Anyways, I happened to mention this to my aunt, who suggested what she considered a good online community app. Well, it turned out to be Christian based (Not quite what I had in mind) so I went down an internet rabbit hole searching for a Wiccan based community, and here I am!

I’ve been reading the forums, and from what I can tell you all seem to be a lovely bunch. I’m hoping to learn a lot here to improve my craft and hopefully, hopefully make a friend or two. Thank you for having me!

Welcome, @nocturnebliss and Merry Meet! We’re glad you went down that internet rabbit hole and found us. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’m so sorry for your recent online experience. It’s hard - people can be anyone they want to be when they’re hiding behind that keyboard. Glad that experience led you here, though.

As a Green witch, you’re in good company here! We all follow different paths, but we support each other. This is a safe place.

I’m Feathertip, from SE Michigan. I’m a lifelong Pagan, close to Nature and interacting with all her critters. I have a garden and like to grow my own herbs, too. Love my indoor plants as well! I practice Yogic meditation and use Lenormand cards for divination.

I hope you share pictures of all your plants, they sound wonderful. And any art you’d like to share - we’d love to see all of it (lots of fellow artists here too!).

Please don’t hesitate to ask questions about anything. Enjoy your time here, lovely. :sparkles: :feather:

Hi, @nocturnebliss! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia. Welcome to the forum! :infinite_roots:

I am in envy of your green thumb! I could kill plastic plants given half the chance. LOL! I bet your home looks so beautiful! I’m a big reader too, mysteries, thrillers, fantasy, that sort of thing. And of course pagan books. My wish list on Amazon is scary long!

Anyhow, I’m glad you found us! I’ve been here just over six years now, and there hasn’t been much drama, just a lot of friendship and support, so I think you’ll like it here! If you have any questions or anything, just ask, and someone will pop up and give you a hand. I look forward to getting to know you!

Greetings from New Mexico!

Welcome @nocturnebliss! Cool name, btw.

I’m sorry this happened to you. I used to be of the opinion that if someone shared my beliefs, they ought to be good friendship material until I met a pair of fakers. It happens in every system. Well, we have both learned to be a bit more careful.

Thank you (curtsey).

And thank you for choosing to spend your time here with us! I’m looking forward to learning from and with you!

Sensational Saturday N.Bliss,

Welcome to our pack :wolf:. We have many witches with green thumbs :potted_plant:!!

I love reading myself, I have a “frequent flyer” card at the library. Here in Vegas I guess you could call it a “players card”. The casinos are trying to give cards to everyone. I am a techno/bigbrother, “o-phile”. I do not want my info in a computer for them…can’t I have a little privacy!!!
So, starting the practice in your teens, how long have you been at it? I was introduced to the Craft when I was about 8, but only picked up seriously a couple years ago. I’m 61.

Please join us for group events. We have a Wed group participation and Fun Fridays. We also have Coven Daily Draw, Lenormand, and Tarot daily for anyone to join, please pop in!!

Have a great look around. Looking forward to learning more about you.

To answer your question, I read about Wicca for years before starting my practice, like you. My first husband (who turned out to be not a good person) forbade me from practicing. My current husband (10 year anniversary in February 2027!) encourages it fully (he even bought me a nice(er) table for my altar as an early birthday gift). Ive been seriously practicing since I got together with my husband. Also, I will be 38 July 29th.

Edit: This was in response to Leilani. Still learning the forums and I am slightly unsure how to reply to specific people.

It’s okay! Just tap on the little black curving arrow on the bottom right of an individual post to reply directly to that poster.

Feathertip has you partly covered on answering posts.

You can also highlight the comment you wish to answer. A pop up asks if you want to quote or save to clipboard. Hit quote, and your comment will be sent to their email. If there are many quotes to comment upon, there is a pair of arrows which point downward so you can switch between writing and reading and a box below your reading so you can write again.

Or you can tap the at- sign. A drop down menu mentions names of posters you can choose from. If you don’t see the name you want, type the first letter or two. When you tap the name you want, the comment is sent to the person’s email, too. This way, you can put many comments to many people into one post and avoid the 5 minute limit.

If you went past the first post and don’t want to scroll back up to hit the black arrow, there is also the blue box- white arrow below it for a general response.

I know, this is a big place, and it can be tricky to start out. Don’t worry, you’ll catch on. See if This tutorial will help you. If not enough, there are more tutorials Here.

Hello @nocturnebliss (love the name!)

Welcome to the forum, we’re blessed to have you here! I’m Bry, an Eclectic Witch and one of the moderators. Just wanted to stop by to say hi. It’s very nice to meet you

Sorry about the tough experience. People can be harsh both online and in person, but there is something about the anonymity of the web that can bring out the worst in some folks. This is a pretty small and cozy community here and best of all, we all love magick! So please know you’re among friends and fellow practitioners. I hope you make yourself right at home

I’m looking forward to chatting with you more around the forum! Blessed be :sparkles:
