Thank you everyone, for the healing energies sent to Eric and I. The day was long and exhausting, starting with rising at 3:30 am to enable us to feed cats, get ready and get to the hospital for a 5 am check in.
Then it was a case of hurry up and wait. The actual surgery was over by about 9:30, but we didn’t get released until 5 pm. Eric had to come out of the anesthesia, which always seems slow for him, and then had to practice walking. He was so shaky and unsteady the first time I wondered if he would make it.
But I had taken a little spell bag I had prepared (it was the same as the spell pouch I created in this spell ) and found it comforting to hold as I waited and watched his efforts to stand and walk.
One thing I forgot to take with me was my little Spirit Bear, but I felt he was beside me in spirit anyway.
Eric was up before me this morning (I managed to get 11 hours of sleep on my CPAP machine!!) and I heard him in the kitchen making coffee. So he’s doing well, he’s able to move around with the walker they provided and isn’t in pain.
Thank the Goddess! All is well.
This is certainly the best news possible! Pain free and moving around a day after the procedure is pretty awesome!
Glad that all is well. Sending continued healing energies his way. ![]()
Wonderful news I know they get you moving straight away. Will he be going for physio as I know here they give you 12 weeks if they don’t and you think he needs it you could make enquires. Happy you had a good rest you with your machine. He sounds in good spirits getting about in the kitchen. Little spirt bear was with you.
Sending you both restorative sleep and healing blessings ![]()

Not really physical therapy, as they do with knee replacement, but just basically make sure to get up at least hourly and walk for 10-15 minutes.
He came with a slew of post operative instructions that I have only glanced at. He is determined to make a success of this and get back to his martial arts, and I believe he will, even at 73
I’m so glad everything went well! It seems like he bounced back quickly once he was awake. And I bet you slept for a long time; you needed it!
A positive mental attitude goes a long way aiding recovery as he has the willpower to go beyond some pain to achieve his goals and of your course doing the things you both enjoy. You are both young at heart and that really does help. You are both in my thoughts and prayers and pass on my regards to Eric ![]()
