Hi, I’m Katie from Charleston, SC, USA. I am thrilled to have come across this amazing site. I began my journey several years ago. I started with tarot and the use of pendulums. I had to put my journey to side for work a doing overseas. I came home and as I was getting back into my craft; I met a guy and again everything hit pause again. Now 6 years later I am fully devoted to learning everything I can. Again, thank you for this amazing resource.
My name is Megan and I’m one of the moderators here on the forum it’s nice to meet you!
Ahh, the ever-happening waxing and waning of a practice. You’re definitely not alone! I started my journey when I was a young teenager. I’ve picked it up and put it down so many times over the years there were many different reasons for the changes, the practice in the backseat, etc. But ya know what? I’m here, I’m doing what I can for where my life is right now I’m sure you’re doing just the same!
It’s so nice to meet you, Katie, I’m Marsha, an Eclectic Solitary Witch, from Colorado. I also read tarot cards and use pendulums. This is a great place to get back into your craft. Have you found the courses?
There are lots of friendly and helpful people here so if you have any questions, just ask! Q&A I am looking forward to getting to know you better. We are here for you, Katie, welcome to the family.
Hi @katie23! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia. Welcome to the forum!
I think nearly everyone here has gone through times when they’ve had to put their practice aside, as @MeganB said, that seems to be a theme. LOL! We’re glad you’re here!
If you have any questions ask and someone will be around to help you. I look forward to getting to know you!
Welcome @katie23! I’m Siofra_Strega a moderator here in the forum from Cape Cod.
I also agree with this! I had started in my teens & well, life happened & just recently came back to my practice fully in 2020 & found Spells8 that July. Since then… I haven’t been happier & have learned so much more than I dreamed I would. There have even been times within those 2+ years that I have had to completely restart, refigure, step back for a variety of reasons. As with the anything, life tends to wax & wane & go through cycles. Perfectly fine though! We will always be here for you!
As @marsha had mentioned the courses… I also agree that those are a great start. There is a lot of great information, even if you already have worked with or “know” the information, it’s a great refresher & oodles of topics to choose from!
@Amethyst & @marsha are also correct, everyone here is very helpful & friendly… so if you have any questions feel free to ask & someone will be along to get you pointed in the right direction. Also feel free to jump in on any open topic or start your own if you have something to share with us! We love to learn things!
Wishing you a very warm welcome! I’m Bry, another moderator here in the forum and an Eclectic Witch who also does some traveling May I ask where you had your overseas adventure?
Like others have said, the Craft can wax and wane in our lives like the phases of the moon- it’s something many of us experience! It sounds like you have some great energy and motivation going for you now- I am cheering you on and wishing you all the best on your magickal journey!
Whether it is tarot, pendulum, or other areas of magick, I hope you are finding all the resources you are looking for in your studies. If you ever can’t find something, have any questions, or just want to chat, know that your coven is here for you!
Hi @katie23!! I love Charleston - I lived there for about 3.5 years when I was in the Navy. I lived in Goose Creek area near the weapons station. I miss it so much - especially this time of year when I’m back home in PA literally batting down the hatches in preparation for the next massive snow storm. I miss the giant oaks and the Spanish moss - maybe I need to plan a vacation soon!
