Wow. I am very excited to be here! My name is Emily and I’m a mom to 4 kiddos. I first embraced this spiritual path very early on life. I couldn’t have been older than 11 or 12 when this path first called to me. My cousin dabbled with tarot at the time and while doing a reading he told me a story about my grandmother. While she was a devout catholic her whole life in New Mexico, there were rare occasions when she would turn into an owl and fly off into the night. Even though i was fairly convinced that he was only appealing to my over active imagination, that thought has never left my mind.
Magic exists in everybody and in everything. Life is full of beautiful mysteries and surprises. I strayed from my spiritual path when i married into a fanatical Christian family. Not at first, it took several years, but ultimately I caved and adopted their beliefs. Which left me damaged and emotionally scarred from their restrictive practices.
Now, fully divorced, I’m healing and I’m going back to my spiritual roots. I feel alive for the first time in many years. I can’t wait to hear the stories and collective wisdom from this group. Thanks for having me!

I practiced when I was younger, then it went by the wayside until 2020. In 2020 I found Spells8 & I have been a member since! My practice has evolved so much. I just now just say I’m a witch. I started out back on the Wiccan path & that evolved to eclectic, then to a more Celtic path, & I settled into my own with an Irish Pagan path. I work with Irish deities & their tribe/families. (Brigid & The Morrigan)
I do have 3 children, 2 are adults, 1 is in high school. My oldest has a son so in 2024, they gave me my first grandchild
Speaking of cousins, I have 1 that practiced & I can remember him saying that he was a wizard. He had a handfasting for his wedding to his significant other. I went to that when my oldest was 1 or 2 & I remember being fascinated with the ceremony.

My path has been vaguely similar to yours. I was raised by one who was spiritually lax, but she wanted me to be accepted in a fanatical Catholic Church. The laxness allowed me to create my own system early on. I, also, was damaged by the experience with Christians. Since I lost my father at such a young age, the church never accepted me. I left the humans of the church in 1990. They keep trying to pull me back, but hey, been there, done that: not again. Now is a great time to build up boundaries. I’m glad you are feeling good! And I’m glad you’re here. Looking forward to learning from and with you.
