Howdy, from Texas!

Hey Witches  :glowing_star:
:black_moon_lilith:Lilu here :new_moon:
A little about me… I have been practicing for over a decade and have gravitated toward the craft since I was very little. Being raised in a Christian household, this was a confusing experience for me. I always felt this dense shame toward the person I am supposed to be but have grown into loving my fierce energy… some would say “intimidating” (I am sure most of you are familiar with that term!).
I am seeking a community to embrace my gifts, to learn, grow, and share with others. I want to explore and expand my knowledge of The Craft together. :purple_heart:
I am open and I receive friendship, community, blessings, and wisdom.
Protect our peace, Blessed be :peace_symbol: :pentagram:

(SIDE NOTE: I copied and pasted my profile bio.
I am incredibly excited to grow with each of you. I am curious… what are your wackiest energy cleansing methods? I’ll go first, I believe it is most effective fully nude wrapped in a silk shawl, (of course cleanse with salt water, sage, incense, etc.- the USUAL), after smoke cleansing, ring a bell three times in every corner of the room while dancing (really move them hips!). I like to clap and or chant as I am dancing to break the stagnant energy, not just in the room but in my physical self! Sounds chaotic, but let your spirit free in your safe space and feel the energy you’re meant to hold. Thank you for your responses, I look forward to hearing your crazy cleansing methods! :sun_with_face:)

Hi @LiluMora333 and welcome to the forum!
I´m Katharina, an art-witch and art therapist from Vienna, Austria! I´m practicing magick very much through art making! I love altar craft, candle making, poppet work, spell boxes, jars and all kinds of creative magic shenanignas. Working in my Book of Shadows is a big part of my pratice. I love all things tarot and practice this art since many moons.
I would say, that I´m a rather quiet and introverted person, so my cleansing methods align with this energy. My favorite method is physically cleaning everything, a nice simmer pot, some herbs for washing down my doors and windows and of course for the floor. I love to play cleansing frequency music, use my singing bowl and bells and I love creating my own herbal incense blends! Most of my magic is non-verbal or whispered. I feel that whispering into a candle flame has something powerful to it.

The forum is huge and it takes time to get to know everything. The people here are very sweet and helpful, so just make yourself known if there´s any questions, someone will certainly show up to help you.

I´m looking forward to getting to know you and chatting with you!
Brightest blessings! :dizzy:

Welcome, @LiluMora333 and Merry Meet! I’m Feathertip, from SE Michigan. I’m a lifelong Pagan, and I work closely with Nature and all her critters.

I can certainly relate to this. I was raised in a Baptist, church every Sunday and sometimes weekday kind of household. It does cause confusion and dampen one’s soul, doesn’t it? (Although I was told I was a fighter, that’s virtually saying intimidating - ha!)

Energy cleansing…I agree that a hard dance is pretty good! If I have to keep the noise level down, I will go the opposite route and play something from a meditation app I have - there are cleansing frequencies but I also love the nature sounds while meditating.

Take your time looking around, and please don’t hesitate to ask questions about anything. I hope to see you more around the forum. Have fun, and know that this is a safe space to be completely yourself. :sparkles: :feather:

Hi Katharina, I appreciate your response!
I enjoyed reading your post, as you like to be hands-on with your magick. I wish I was able to look into candle making and many other things, I am sure your craft supply is dense! One of the things I have struggled with most is making my Grimoire, as I have one but it doesn’t have any sort of “vibe” more of notes, spells, and outcomes. I am sure yours has all the bells and whistles
Thank you for your warm welcome! I look forward to creating a relationship with you as well.

Hello Feathertip! Thank you for your response.
I read some of your comments from other posts and you are so warm and welcoming! Thank you for your dedication and love to Mother Earth <3

I appreciate you opening up about your past with me. EVERY Sunday and EVERY Wednesday (if you went to youth) sure can dampen the soul… there is definitely an explanation for that.

Definitely need to be considerate when dancing and jumping around, I should work with frequencies more but I have this belief that phones/technology while practicing can interfere with your personal energy. It is a feeling I cannot quite describe, so I am looking into singing bowls. Would that be effective for you as well, or would that cause tension with any neighbors?
I appreciate your acceptance, it means a lot truly.

Actually, I think this is a wonderful idea! I don’t have any singing bowls but I don’t think they’re hard to find. And it would eliminate the extra touch of technology.

No, I live in a small bungalow so no danger of anyone banging on the ceiling. :joy:

You’ve inspired me to explore something new - thank you for this gift, lovely! :sparkling_heart:

Hi, @LiluMora333! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia. Welcome to the forum! :infinite_roots:

Man, we must have a sale going on for the site down in Texas! Nice to meet you!

And I’ve got to say, I’ve never been that weird while cleansing my area. I usually use Dr. Teal’s shower gel for purifying showers. I’m too lazy to pick out herbs from my tub, and I can’t get my bum down there anyhow. And if I did get in it, I’d probably be stuck, and there aren’t many hunky firefighters in my area.

I usually just use sound. Sometimes something nice and soothing, like Awake Nation on YouTube, and sometimes Meat Loaf. It’s all good!

Nice question to break the ice there! I’m looking forward to meeting you!

Hi @LiluMora333 and welcome to the Infinite Roots coven at Spells 8. We are glad that you have joined us. I am Jayne, an eclectic witch originally from the UK, but have lived in Texas most of my life. My witch name, Greenbriar, was chosen as I feel it closely aligns with my practice which leans towards earth and nature magic.

Since I have three cats I am hesitant to use smoke for cleansing so I usually sound cleanse with a small bell.

Feel free to jump in to any conversation that interests you and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

Blessed be!

I started making candles because I didn´t want to let any wax go to waste. All my friends and family collect their left over candle wax and will give it to me to resuse it. It´s such a precious resource! And then little by little I bought different candle molds…and it became a new hobby.

I´m afraid you´re absolutely right. My drawers and shelves are filled to the gills with art supplies. But to compensate I only own like four pair of shoes. Does that count?

I´ve tried to make everything nice and orderly but I have to admit I´m more of a chaos witch than I´d want to admit. My Grimoire is a happy mess of print outs, coloring pages, handwritten notes, paintings and drawings, tarot pulls, pictures or articles I found somewhere, printed photos of my altars and actual spellwork. I don´t know of a certain vibe, but it caught my attention that the long I´m working in that book, the more magical it feels and spells that I tuck into it tend to manifest faster and better…so, I´m wondering if books collect magical energy…

I´m always happy to make new witchy friends! :purple_heart:

Greetings from New Mexico! We’re neighbors!

Welcome @LiluMora333!

I live in a first floor apartment with wooden slats for blinds. They don’t cover the windows well, so I don’t go streaking in my own space. I think my craziest is to kick bird food back toward the bird who threw it! Visualizing a spray over negativity sure helps, even if I look like a chicken scratching for a meal! Chicken Dance anyone?

We are fortunate to have you. Looking forward to learning from and with you!

Saves space for more craft supplies! If I count slippers, I have 5 pair, two of which are old enough to be thrown away, but I want to keep them for dirty work.

They absolutely do! I reread mine every few years and sense that energy come flying out at me! Enjoy!

Whatever works for you to get in your “zen-zone” go for it! I will have to check out Awake Nation and Meat Loaf… What should I expect on the Meat Loaf part?? HAHA!
I appreciate your time, looking forward to meeting you as well.

Merry Meet Greenbriar!!
Thank you for welcoming me into Infinite Roots coven, I am glad to find a family from all over the world to experience and practice our beliefs together. We are practically neighbors!!
I see you are a Nature Witch, I would love to know more about planting and any spells that may promote the healing and lives of my current plants. I am getting the hang of it (I am practicing with green onions from Kroger!! So far they are doing very well) Any tips??

I heard candle making is not only expensive but its incredibly messy so unless you have a space for that its almost impossible to make your own, but I never thought about obtaining wax from other people! Just be careful because a lot of candles are harmful. I wonder how expensive beeswax is.. probably a hefty penny, but I could be wrong cause I do not know!

When you said that about your art drawers are “filled to the gills” it reminded me of when I was little I LOVED getting into my nana’s paint and drawing stuff. Needless to say, that sounds very comforting to me, and there is nothing wrong with having four pairs of shoes… its all about balance am i right??

When I said yours has all the bells and whistles, by no means did I expect it to be organized!! I love how personal it is to you and I believe the more chaotic, the better. Also, the only VIBE it needs to be is your own :nail_polish: I wish I was a collector, maybe I will have to pick up a new hobby…
Books TOTALLY hold energy, everything is energy! The love you feel from this message is because our energy is connected! That book was once a living being and probably hundreds of years old- very wise. You create connections to these things by speaking that special connection into itself. Consistency is LOVE, and what you do for your Book of Shadows is consistent for sure.

Message anytime Katharina!! You have a witchy friend in me

Hello Georgia, Merry Meet!
Oh dont go streaking unless your absolutely comfortable with it!!
I enjoyed “kick the bird food back toward the bird who threw it”… definitely needed that little sentence to make something click to me personally, how affective has that method been for you??
Thank you for welcoming me into your family. I look forward to learning from you as well :purple_heart:

Aww, thanks! You’re sweet!

Meat Loaf was a former Texan! Not sure of your age, but he’s pretty much Classic Rock with a bit of Symphonic Metal. You’ve probably either heard Two Out of Three Ain’t Bad or Anything for Love. He’s got some great music, even if he kinda tipped over to the, um, kookie, there at the end of his life. I love Classic Rock and Symphonic Metal. Which I surprise most people with because I am the most unlikely metal head you’ve ever seen!

Hi, Lilu!

Welcome to Spells8. I think you will find a lot of people with similar backgrounds here. I loved your intro.

I’m Dan and I study belief systems. My path loosely falls under the Chaos label. Have fun!

Hello. My name is Colin and I’m a wizard from Canada. I used to do incense cleansing a lot but I haven’t had a need for it much at my new location. I like the idea of ringing the bell three times. Speaking of which, I could sure make use of a nice of bells.

I’ve been practicing for about 6 years and I believe that life always gets better.

Merry Meet, Lilu. :crescent_moon::sparkles:

I love the energy in your introduction, that journey from early confusion and shame into owning your fierce, radiant self is something many of us recognize deeply. That intensity some people call “intimidating” is often just unapologetic presence, and it’s beautiful that you’ve grown into loving it rather than dimming it.

I’m Stephanie or Eira of the Living Hearth, an eclectic witch from California, and I’m really glad you’re here. My practice centers on hearth and green witchery, divination (tarot, runes, oracle, Lenormand), ancestry and shadow work, and weaving self-care into everyday magic. I always appreciate meeting witches who carry strong energy and want to share, learn, and expand together.

And honestly? Your cleansing method made me smile, movement, sound, body, and intention all working together is actually very old magic, not chaotic at all. Dance, bells, clapping, chanting… those are classic ways humans have shifted energy for thousands of years. The fact that you include your body fully just makes it more embodied and powerful.

If I’m sharing a “wacky” one back: I’ll sometimes open every window and door I can, ring a bell or chime while walking the thresholds, then sweep the air itself with a broom toward the exit, literally sweeping out stale energy, followed by tea or herbal steam to reset the space gently. It looks dramatic but feels incredibly grounding. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

You’re very welcome here, Lilu. I think you’ll find plenty of kindred spirits who appreciate both the fierce and the playful sides of practice.

Protect your peace and welcome to the coven.
Blessed Be. :herb: :dizzy:
