My path has taken me on the pantheon of the Yorube religion. One that as a child of Cuban parents, was very prevalent in my family. However, when my grandmother decided to transform the family and lean on the ‘reformed Christian’ beliefs and put behind the teachings of old; there was a big struggle between both in my family… to the point of my being taught that what I felt/knew/understood (in the most organic of ways) was “evil”.
Well you can imagine… many years I spent afraid, inquisitive, but unwilling to budge because of the fear.
I always felt the magick and would somehow fall into ‘ways’ that although foreign seemed very familiar to me. Covid gave me the moment in time to face all of these falsehoods and showed me how to trust myself and the magick in all things and that there was no need to be ‘afraid’.
I’m much into divination and practicing the rituals taught by my ancestors.
I have been lead to learning about runes and even crafted my own to help me further opening up in all of this.
I look forward to getting to know all better and learning more as we all journey together.

I’m glad you found your way, especially if you were scared straight at first. It must be interesting to look into your ancestral pantheon. It sounds interesting! I didn’t know that Cuba followed that religion behind the scenes.

Good morning @jan_TheGreenWitch and thank you! Love the synchronicity of it all; at the moment, I am gathering tools, cleansing and dedicating my altar(s), reviewing all the information I can - I’m already at the 2nd course for ‘us newbies’ lol! Ultimately my aim is to have my craft and daily life have that wonderful balance that will allow for the flow of life/world/universe. This would not only help me and my loved ones but all those universe will lead me to. How that will all be; Goddess and Lord will provide.

@isabel Hi there! I found my path by studying comparative religion for many years starting with Christianity, then branching out to other world religions, faiths, practices and then different times with myths — as I travelled I learned more and more about how as different as we all are, we are intrinsically the same with many if not all of the same mythology and traditions spanning each time, religion and region.
I believe in a universal ‘source’ which we are all ultimately a part of and my pagan path has been one of honoring the land, resources and plants and animals.
I honor all faiths, beliefs and ways of worship and do not believe that any one way works for all but that everyone’s path to their own truth is one which they must seek for themselves and determine in their own time what they believe and decide to use in their day to day life.
That’s a quick summary !!! I hope you are enjoying it here in the forum and look forward to hearing more from you! Light and love, Jan
