Looks like I need to get out my journal for a thoughts dump later. Thank you!

Today I chose to deal a card from my Daily Stoic Challenge Deck. I have attached pic of the Deck, the challenge key and the card I drew. Today’s card is red in the ACTION category, it depicts the action you take followed up with the quote of the day:

Today, speak with someone who you don’t agree with. Go outside of your bubble. Practice empathy. See things from another point of view. Open-mindedness, seeking the truth, having the humility to accept you might be wrong is how we move forward. Like any worthy pursuit, it requires practice.

“If someone is able to show me that what I think or do is not right, I will
change, for I seek the truth, by which no one ever was truly harmed. — Marcus Aurelius

I have been thinking of doing posts on this deck daily in the single draws thread, or creating a new Daily Challenge thread. Thoughts?

Good morning

I felt like doing a card pull this morning so I shuffled my ogham deck and pulled Koad. This fid is actually called something entirely different than what the card has on it :unamused: which I mean
that’s part of the reason I don’t always feel connected to this deck.

Anyway, this fid is actually called Ebad. Here is an excerpt from Weaving Word Wisdom about this fid

Tree: elecampane, woodbine, aspen
MM: snĂĄmchaĂn feda: fair-swimming letter, best swimming letter
MO: cosc lobair: admonishing of an infirm person, correction of a sick man, desire of an invalid, feast of an invalid
CC: caĂnem Ă©co: fairest fish, most lovely of salmon
Other word ogams for this fid: most bouyant of wood, “that it is a kenning for the great bratan, for Ă© (salmon) is a name for bratan (salmon)”
Meanings: carrier of wisdom, vehicle of inspiration, spiritual nourishment

Since this fid doesn’t have a usual meaning, there isn’t much more than this. So, I can take this card to mean that someone (as this reading was done for someone here who needs to hear it) needs to pay attention to who they’re listening to. Not everyone who seems wise is actually so. Listen to the wise and pay no mind to fools.

It’s hard to distinguish the wise from the fools, for sure. I feel like the fools are much like the wanna be rich, they act rich, look rich, hang out with rich, but it’s all a facade in the end, they can’t show anyone the money :moneybag:, lol. Same with fools, it takes a discerning eye, ear, third eye, and heart to notice. I can’t think of anyone giving me advice or wisdom except for doctors right now, so this mustn’t be meant towards me, but I just wanted to give input on the whole fool versus wise person perspective.:magic_wand:

@jan_TheGreenWitch placing your draws in this thread is what it’s here for! Everyone can use this thread for their daily draws & it keeps the forum organized. Every 3 months the thread will close & a new one will open for the next 3 months.

Thank you for sharing your draw today & I hope you are feeling a bit better after yesterday :people_hugging: Your draw actually went extremely well with my 3 card reading this morning AND it happens to be something I am working on personally in a way. I really like this one!

@MeganB thank you for sharing your draw also! This also coincides with my 3 card reading this morning from my Light Seer’s Deck!

Thank you everyone for sharing your single draws! :two_hearts:

Excellent - I will continue to post even non tarot/oracle draws here, perfect! Less pressure than having a thread all to itself for sure! :black_joker:

@jan_TheGreenWitch the nature of the single draw doesn’t matter
it can be any kind of rune, stone, card, whatever it is that you are doing :hugs: Different types of draws are more than welcome. I just listed the most common. You could even post affirmations if you would like

Oracles of the Morrigan

By: Feral Magic

    • I shuffled the deck & took off the top 3 cards then drew:

Passage

Life & Death are held in a sacred balance in that which creates a Passage between them. This is the secret of the Mother & the Divine power of the Grandmothers. Seek this knowledge by grounding your work in the root of the body. The creative power is present when body touches body & when body touches Earth. Tie up your hair in the moonlight, place a sprig of mistletoe beneath your feet. Give a red gift to the old Mothers, a copper coin to the Grandmothers, & you will open the passage of wisdom & strength. May they grant you a seat around the fire.

Side Note: I finally finished knitting the pouch for my Oracles of the Morrigan cards & guidebook:

I put 2 black buttons on either side & then on the left side is a single Raven :raven: charm. I’m on the fence about adding a Triquetra :triquetra: to the other side or the same side, so when I have my daughter home today (she has an appointment & a lunch date) I will see what she thinks.

Your input is much appreciated  and you’re right. It can be really difficult to tell the difference between a wise person and a fool. Often the fool things they’re wiser than they are, too!

@Susurrus – that’s an interesting card, for sure  I can’t look at it for too long because it makes my head hurt but I like the message that goes along with it  And I also love that you made your deck bag in colors to match!

I agree the card is difficult to focus on for me too, but the message I can relate to also. My last few readings/draws of different kinds are all around the same theme for the day. I love  when that happens!

Thank you for your kind words about the pouch :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I try to go with colors that make me think of the deck I am wrapping. The Morrigan :raven: is very much associated with Red & Black, I added the white to give it some pop with the other colors.

Before my daughter leaves on her excursion I am going to ask her to pick a charm for the Inner Child Oracle deck pouch that I made yesterday or at least think of a type or a charm itself (she’s been through the bag of charms more than I have :joy:) I crocheted that one with a slip stitch for the body of the bag then varying single, double, triple, slip stitches for the flap that goes over it with single button closure. (I have way too many charms & buttons )

Did you see the addition to my Brigid Oracle pouch that I added this morning?

That’s funny that she knows more of the charms than you do  but I mean, if she likes the pretty shiny things then it makes sense!

I think I did see the addition to your Brigid Oracle pouch. I think I just commented on them, actually!

She pays attention when I get new ones & goes through them before I add them to my overall charm bag. Then she spreads them out with me & it’s like she’s trying out clothes in the mirror
she holds them up, then up against the pouches, then with the deck itself. She will attach a piece of yarn & tell me if it should dangle or just be put on the pouch
I enjoy her input & she seems to like having a say in it too.

She was watching me crochet the Inner Child Oracle pouch last night (she picked the yarn :yarn: for that one) & got kind of bored or antsy or both
I wound up with braids on both sides of my head before I was finished with it. Then she says, why don’t we bring all of the yarn upstairs! I was like, Baby
I only have so many decks
I’d have way too much yarn up here & no room, but I will find something else to make
it’s that time of year when I make people gifts.

Daily Affirmation from Moon Omens by Shawn Fontaine

  • "What’s meant for me is here.
My gut feelings and my intuition
led me to this place in life for a
reason, and I am embracing it all!
This new month holds so much
for me to be excited about."

Today I am drawing from The Enchanted Map Oracle Cards by Colette Baron-Reid.
I drew TALISMAN

“A lesson truly learned is crystallized as eared wisdom. You have all you need for the success you seek.”

Wisdom allows you to recognize traps on the road and familiar patterns that you want to avoid. It also enables you to quickly gather information about where you are on your journey. It helps you recognize your allies and know how to find the best routes along the way. Now you’re at a place where you know the right things to do and the best choices to make. You really can’t commit a mistake. Whatever your inquiry, great fortune awaits you, for you have the wisdom to arrive at the right decision. You’ve learned your lessons and earned the right to your success.
— from the Guidebook

The theme in what I’ve been drawing is about wisdom and I look at it juxtaposed with other draws here that appear like we are in for a ride in September and that makes me believe that even though we will get a run for our money in the next 30 days, we have the experience and earned wisdom to prevail. :green_heart:

Inner Child Oracle

  • (By: Amanda Lynn Hails)
  • I shuffled 3 times, removed the top 3 cards & flipped over the top card:

Go On An Adventure

Today is the day to try something new, explore just for fun & be a bit more daring. Practice living in the momentum, do something spontaneous & be okay with not having anything or everything planned. Do not let apprehension keep you from your new adventure, that feeling will fade but the wonder that is to be found will surely not.

I finally got the pouch finished for this deck yesterday:

Oracles of the Morrigan

By: Feral Magic

    • I shuffled the deck & took off the top 3 cards then drew:

The Morrigan

Morrigan :triquetra:, great & terrible sovereign, thrice formed raven :raven: of battle, the strength in every sword :sword_tarot: & harvest of every field, be here with us now. May your raven’s eye see only peace :peace_symbol: at our meeting. It is she who calls to the spirit under the mountains :mountain:, & to the mouth of the rivers to sing. The land flows forth with honey & the trees :tree_of_life: bend with the weight of their harvest at her passing. The cow bears her calf fat & strong by the skill of her herdsman. The warrior’s spear flies true by the strength of her song. Speak to us from the mounds & the pillars, teach us & strengthen us with your wisdom & cunning words. Let there be peace under the sky, for the people, forever.

  • I feel like this card’s message could also be used as a type of invocation for The Morrigan also

Perfection
Action reversed- time for rest & relaxation

Mine was from the online app today:

Looks like an apropos reading for many of us here!!
Six of Wands - reversed
When the card is reversed, it suggests that you might find
yourself doubting all of your abilities as well as your overall
potential to achieve any kind of success. You might be
feeling particularly negative about your entire self as if you
have failed others as well as yourself. This is a symbol that
means that vou lack the confidence and drive you need to
achieve your goals. You need the overall support as well as
the recognition of third parties in order to pick you up, to
emotionally provide you with some much-needed
strength.
