Learning Magick?

Hi Guys,
I’ve read all your papers and am so impressed with your strength and developement. As I follow my own messages, I see , and hear great power but unfocused. like the old *He Man comics, * > I HAD THE POWER. And it filled me with my own self worth… but what I really was? Full of was :poop:! I was drunk on myself.

I laugh at my arrogance, I thought I was a Witch, extroidenare. What I was, was smoke and mirrors. I bought into all the hype and accoutrements. I had stones, candles, bells, incense and Tarot decks, all the other stuff I thought needed.
But with age, came wisdom.
And the most important lesson? You don’t need all the stuff, what one must have is a goal (what are you trying to do), an intent (Why) and most of all a will.

I cannot turn lead to gold, I cannot change the world alone and
I cannot turn my ex husband into a toad… he already was one.

What I learned? you approach Magick with a clear conscience, A clean body and heart (You cleanse your heart along with your body)
Spells can be as easy or complicated as you want.
You can make a spell as elaborte and expensive as needed…or… you can raise your hands and heart to your God/Goddess and simply ask.
The most they can say is ‘no’. Believe me, they hear you. Never in the whole of time has a prayer not been heard and answered one way or the other.
I’m neither prophet or preacher, just an old woman who has learned her lessons the hard way. I send you all patience, tolerance and endurance. May your practices grow in strength every day,
As it has been, may it always continue.
Blessed Be
Garnet, the old bat…Witch :dragon_blue:

I highlighted three sections of this to quote before I realized the entire piece is quote-worthy, so I’ll just comment on the whole masterpiece!

Thank you for sharing both your wisdom and your encouragement, @Garnet. Seeing your posts always brings a smile to my face! Hope you’re doing well

This message alone was a great lesson for all those princesses out there!

You’re wise and good, so I’ll let you roost in my belfrey.

Seriously, though, this post is full of great advice for our baby witches as well as our more advanced practitioners. Thank you for sharing your wisdom.

That is both a great post and a funny one. My path doesn’t use all the accoutrements even though I collected them initially. So I have a big box of stuff that I can use for decoration. I still appreciate the cool altars that some have made. Our strength comes from within and for me, the world is my altar.

Agreed! The mind is a powerful tool. Before I ever cast a spell, I was already creating magic. Many-a-time I had to erase an errant thought and proclaim “No, no, no! I didn’t mean that!” for fear of it becoming reality.
