Let’s talk about meridian points and how tones affect them.
The human meridian points of Chinese Medicine date back to around 206 BCE. They are like nerve highways in the human body that allows for the flow of Qi (energy). Although there are 361 meridians in all, there are only twelve main meridians used in acupuncture to affect change in the body.
The Twelve Principal Meridians
- · Stomach
- · Spleen
- · Small Intestine
- · Heart
- · Bladder
- · Kidney
- · Pericardium
- · Triple Warmer
- · Gall Bladder
- · Liver
- · Lung
- · Large Intestine
There are also two centerline meridians: the conception vessel and the governing vessel.
“The conceptions vessel receives Qi from the yin meridians before distributing it to the yang meridians.” It moves the Qi throughout the body.
“The governing vessel controls the yang meridians and the Guardian Qi.” It’s the body’s warming mechanism.
The chakra points of Hindu Medicine date back to around 1500 – 500 BCE. There are 114 chakras and 72,000 Nadis in the human body, quite a few more than the basic seven we are used to working with.

We usually consider the chakras to be energy points in the body that correspond to specific bundles of nerves, major organs, and areas of our energetic bodies. But that’s too simplified of a concept for the chakra system. The system is in two parts, the Nadis, and the Chakras.
“Nadis are the pathways of the life energies and chakras are the purification and distribution centers of the life energies in our body.” – Sri Amit Ray
The Chakras are then divided into 7 major, 21 minor, and 86 micro points on the human body.
The Seven Principal Chakras
- · Muladhara (root)
- · Svadhishthana (sacral)
- · Manipura (solar plexus)
- · Anahata – (heart)
- · Vishuddha (throat)
- · Anja (3rd Eye)
- · Shastrara – (crown)
So, you may be asking, how does this affect my body, and mostly, how does this affect my Craftwork? That brings us back to frequencies and tones. When certain frequencies and/or tones are applied via listening (tones) or physical contact (frequencies) with their specific corresponding meridian or chakra points, it creates an energy event at those points.
Now we get into a little anatomy of the human body. Our entire nervous system can be affected by our vagus nerve. We have twelve cranial nerves in the body which come in pairs and link parts of the brain with the body. Cranial nerves can have sensory functions, motor functions, or both functions. The vagus nerve is one of the latter. And whereas it has a very important part to play in the everyday function of the body, it also controls mood and can increase the capacity to regulate stress responses.
“It can be influenced by breathing, its increase through meditation and yoga likely contribute to resilience and the mitigation of mood and anxiety symptoms.”

The vagus nerve can be positively affected simply through vocalizations such as singing, humming, chanting, or even gargling with cold water. The reason I include this information is simple; the vagus nerve is a part of the meridian and chakra systems. Keeping it toned and working is key in working with your energy signature.
When we hear specific tones, or make them ourselves, the vibrations travel along the vagus nerve, the meridians, and the chakras and “open” them to increased positive energies. Many instruments can accomplish this. If you’ve ever sat down to listen to certain classical pieces and found yourself feeling a little verklempt and weepy over its beauty, then you’ve experienced the power of tones on the body.
Now if you direct tones to the concise energy points either aurally or physically, you control the accompanying emotion and set your entire body to vibrate at that specific frequency or energy.
The most beneficial methods of using tones and vibrations are your voice, singing bowls, tone generators, and tuning forks.
When using your voice to activate chakras, it is quite helpful to learn the exact Hindu words and notes used throughout time.
- · Root – LAM
- · Sacral – VAM
- · Solar – RAM
- · Heart – YAM
- · Throat – HAM
- · 3rd Eye – AUM
- · Crown – SILENCE
Simply changing the Hindu Sanskrit alphabet is known to activate the chakra system positively.
And as TheTravelWitch_Bry mentioned, every note we speak, or sing vibrates at a certain frequency. So yes, we want to make not just music, but singing a very big part of our casting work, along with frequency tuning in our individual casting “pre-game” rituals.
For working with meridians and chakras, the application of the frequency via tuning forks or acupuncture needles is most useful. I don’t do the needles, so I won’t speak on that. But I do use tuning forks and yes, they work incredibly.
Although sound travels best through the air, frequency travels best through the skin. Therefore, we apply needles and forks to the body for healing with tones. There are other unorthodox methods, but we’ll get to those when discussing how to practice frequency tuning and chakra activation.
Back to how this affects our Craftwork. Example: you’re settling in to cast a love spell, but some little negative piece of anger in the back of your mind, hidden out of your sight, is interfering with your vibration. No matter how much you set your mind to the task at hand, you will not be able to cast as strong of a spell because of that little frequency interruption. Or let’s say you’ve been asked to cast a spell for another person, they need a healing spell to recover from personal trauma. But when you go to cast, you are firm on your intent, but your energy is not centered in your root chakra. Again, this can weaken the Craftwork as the Caster isn’t vibrating at the same frequency as the spell’s intention.
On top of the idea of casting from an energy point with full vibrational power, keeping these energetic pathways healthy and functioning also strengthens our physical bodies and keeps us in tune with the world around us. We become more sensitive to the vibrations of the others in our lives, from our spouses and children to the person who bags our groceries. We become more intentional creatures and less reactionary overall.
And the wonderful side-effect is stronger spells, more focused casting, and more power.
So, does anyone feel interested in the total anatomy of all this (I have a very detailed anatomy class I can share from), or would you all rather get down to the nitty-gritty of how to actually DIY the heck out of self-frequency work?
I’m game for either or both!
