What is Numerology?

Numerology (also known as arithmancy ) is the study of an occult, divine or mystical relationship between a number and one or more coinciding events. It is also the study of the numerical value, via an alphanumeric system, of the letters in words and names. When numerology is applied to a person’s name, it is a form of onomancy. It is often associated with the paranormal, alongside astrology and similar to divinatory arts.

In Numerology, things such as calendar dates and even words such as your name can be broken down and examined to uncover messages, meanings, and even foretellings of the future

To help you get started, here are few of the most common terms you might hear while studying Numerology:

I’ll have a think on this one, the number 3 (its always been kind of a sacred number to me, things happen in 3’s {whether good or not so good}, one of my deities is associated with the number 3, Celtic paganism & culture has a lot to do with 3 & certain repeating number times will catch me… 11:11, 12:12, 3:33, 1:11… so I’ll come up with a something

Fastest I’ve submitted a challenge entry! I’ve been researching numbers and how they relate to dragons.

George R.R. Martin, the author of A Song of Ice and Fire has said that he prefers dragons with two legs and two wings, like a wyvern, because no birds, mammals, or reptiles have evolved six limbs (four legs and two wings). However, dragons are beings that exist in and travel through the different realms/planes, so they aren’t limited to this, um, I’ll call it the rule of four… limbs?

Six is considered a perfect number in math. That means it is equal to the numbers that it can be divided by… one, two, and three. Adding these numbers together equals six.

The Ouroboros, a snake or dragon eating its own tail, has become a symbol for the cycle of birth, life, death, and rebirth. Sometimes, the Ouroboros resembles an eight instead of a circle. The symbol for infinity is a horizontal eight.

In Chinese mythology, the Dragon King, the god of water and the weather and the zoomorphic representation of Yang, is said to have nine sons.

According to author D.J. Conway, there are five levels of initiation to high dragon magick. Time to dust off my Kindle and buy one of her books!

I’m glad you posted some information here. I believe I said in one other post that I play this dragon game and there’s one of my dragons that eats its tail and I couldn’t imagine why he does that. So you gave me something new I learned today thank you for that.

Oakey dokey artichokey. So I’ve had a bit of a looky loo, I knew my Life Path Number was 6, I didn’t know about my Destiny Number which I now know is 9. Seeing 11:11 or 1:11 seems to be an almost daily occurrence for me at the moment and it’s been happening for months. Clearly I have not been paying attention to a message that is meant for me to understand.

Master Number 11

I’ve been researching numbers and how they relate to dragons.

This is awesome- you did a lot of great exploring here, Kasandra! Everything is interesting (and it seems like so many of the base numbers relate to dragons across history and cultures, which is thought-provoking in and of itself!) and I really like your note about Ouroboros. The endless cycle dragon often appears in a loop (0) or the (8), which ties those numbers together for me. It makes me think of the number 108, which I remember is a sacred number in Buddhism:

this number is reached by multiplying the senses smell, touch, taste, hearing, sight, and consciousness by whether they are painful, pleasant or neutral, and then again by whether these are internally generated or externally occurring, and yet again by past, present and future, finally we get 108 feelings. 6 × 3 × 2 × 3 = 108.

This has been me. So many 11:11 or 1:11 the last couple of weeks.

• Side Note: The Morrigan is hanging around & making herself quite at home with me over that same time & she is associated with 3… may have to dive more into this for the challenge.

I did a very basic numerology thingy dingy too a while back… but all I remember are the actual numbers from the report, not their meanings or placements not sure what to call them but they are 6,7,5,2, & 5. Not to mention that the only reason I remember them is that I use them as a lock code on my tablet. No one is going to guess my numerology report numbers I’d have a better chance of someone remembering my wedding anniversary from August which is the lock code on my thermostat

So, hopefully, I can maybe look through my binders & find the report & find something that puts them with 3 & 1:11 & 11:11. Man, for someone that isn’t good with math I have a lot of numbers to look up

Numerology Challenge Entry

So thinking about @Kasandra & @jessica72 & their entries for this challenge, made me think of a few things about numerology that I have explored in the past. So I started with my Life Path, Destiny, Soul, Personality, Maturity, & Balance numbers & meanings. Also, they slightly changed when I ran the report this time but I also had to enter different basic information… yay for updates!

• Your Life Path Number is 6

So that’s a bit different than the original report I did way back when! I will say that all the numbers & meanings really do make a lot of sense with how they relate to who I am, so whatever updates were made… Right on!

• I decided to explore this 11:11 & 1:11 I’ve been noticing for a couple of weeks now from: Willow Soul

Simply put 11:11, 1111 is to be the best human you can possibly be & that the world is grateful to have you!

Reasons for seeing 11:11/1111 the number 1 repeating:

• Pay attention to your thoughts as an Opportunity Portal is Opening for You
• Everything is a result of your thoughts & feelings
• A deceased loved one is sending you a message
• You are on the path of Awakening as you “Re-member” yourself
• Set an intention {Make a Wish!} & take action

Well, all of those make sense! It sounds weird but I have been sensing or realizing the presence of my Mom who passed in August 2003. Things that used to happen more often when she first passed away started happening more often in the last week or so, but honestly, all 5 of the reasons make sense to me

I decided to look into this number 3 thing I have going on, for as long as I can remember. I can’t tell you the number of times someone said to me, “It’s in your head & just a coincidence”. I would just shrug my shoulders & say well it’s some kind of karmic number for me. Although now I would probably say Sacred.

I started really learning & practicing Celtic Culture based Paganism/Life & found that the number 3 is a large part of Celtic Culture… also my ancestry & current family can be traced back to Ireland in Cork & Kerry & that area with a few others that are mentioned throughout different history & mythological stories & legends:

In the Celtic tree of life the Celts favored that everything in this world came in threes.

• (Which is what I have always believed since childhood)

For example:

• Three stages of life: life, death, and rebirth
• Three elements: Earth, Sea (Water), & Sky (Air)
• Three domains: past, present, & future.

As I said I always have been followed by the number 3:

All things good or bad or indifferent happen in 3s for me. Or a combination of good, bad, & indifferent. It’s always happened that way. So if 2 things happen that are “bad”… there will be 1 more thing then it will switch to 3 “good &/or indifferent” things. Or sometimes, not often 3 more “bad” things.

I’ve always been drawn to Celtic symbols & the 2 that are right off my head are the Triskele & the Triquetra , my deities are both referred to as some form of a Triple Goddess. The Morrigan is associated heavily with the number 3 on her own as well as a form of a Triple Goddess. Also, I find it interesting that Brighid is considered a “light” goddess & the Morrigan is considered a “dark goddess”… so there’s balance in my life too!

So after kind of looking at these things a bit more closely rather than making notes & forgetting to see if there is anything special… this challenge came at the right time for me to finally explore what it is that is going on with me & my numbers.

Side Note: Now I have to change my lock code on my Fire tablet to my current numerology numbers… they are no longer 6, 7, 5, 2, 5 Updates are fun sometimes. I probably won’t change it, unless I write it down somewhere for at least a couple of days. I could always make it the lock code for my phone too, so I’m using them more than when I read at night if I make it that far in my night before falling asleep

Alright, Bri you’re just torturing me now.
Geez! I took 1 day of algebra and quit.
I just couldn’t get past 1+1= 2 & A+A= What! No! No! No! It just didn’t make sense!
A whole different misconception is; 'The ‘Birds and bees’
These two species have very little in common, except flying.
The fact is that they Are biologically sterile, they cannot mate with each other. So teaching the kids about the “birds and bees” meant… Nothing.
Apples and oranges? What is that about?
So when they say, That girl’s not right? Of course not, our whole perspective is skewed.
The education system is coo-coo.
O.K. Now that I’ve got off the math soapbox.

Numerology.
Sometimes one must face their fears to defeat them.
In my research, I found that numerology is uniquely different. The information I absorbed spoke of
recurring numbers. My Dad spoke often about how many times the #3 appeared in everything from his license plate, to his credit card account. I was a kid, so I didn’t pay too much attention. But I came to better understand what he meant through numerology.

My angel numbers,
Looking at everyday numbers, I put together my birthdate, phone #, address, and zip code. I was quite startled to find that I had 00000,111, 222, and 33333. Upon investigation of these numbers
(I was researching what they called Angel numbers.) I found some interesting facts.

Zero is associated with new opportunities. this could signify a fresh start. You’re at the very beginning of a brand new cycle, which means you can create whatever your heart desires. Don’t be afraid to make big, bold decisions at this point in your journey.

I have decided to do a year reading spread and have drawn the cards for each momth for the year ahead and recorded them in my book of ostara which is tirning into a collection of anything working on at this time. Which im ok with. I have just got to write out what each card means and reflect on how that might relate to that month and as each month comes n goesi can reflect on the card again. So i have started the reading i jist got to finish it off. Well expand on the meanings of each number according to the little book that comes with tgr cards. Sorry i cant think of its name. But then im so exhausted even after sleep my brain still not workinh. Im sure it has a name. But then last night id forgotten my own phone number that had for years n was one of two i had memorised … and almost brushed my teeth with makeup remover. I knew then i had better just get to bed n not operate any machinery lol so its not surprising a simple wordis lost on me now. But i wanted to note my progress on using the numerology guidamce cards in a reading.
