How many challenges can I do this week?

If you are feeling particularly adventurous this week and want to do more than just the usual one challenge, you can do:

Up to THREE CHALLENGES

This limit exists to encourage mindfulness on each challenge- please remember that, although some challenges have similar themes, every challenge requires its own unique entry in order to receive the corresponding badge :medal_sports:

But I want to earn all of the badges!

That is awesome- I am so happy that you enjoy the badges so much!

At the end of the day, badges are just a small token- the challenges are really here to help you improve and enhance your magickal practice. So please try to take your time with your exploration of the theme(s) you choose- they are here to help you help yourself! :sparkles:

(On an administrative note, the limit also exists to save your challenge moderator from a potential ocean of badge-giving for all the various challenges at once! :ocean:)

But for challenge enthusiasts and badge collectors- no fear! You can rest assured that another chance to join in on any additional missed challenges will come again soon. Expect another Catch-Up Challenge and chance to earn old badges every ten challenges :+1:

Not sure which challenges you already participated in? :ballot_box_with_check:

Click here to learn how to check which badges you already have

If you can’t remember if you completed a challenge or not, no worries! You can go to the challenge page and check the entries to see if you submitted.

Additionally, you can go to your Badges page to see a collection of all the titles you previously earned.

Here is how to check your badges:

  1. Click on your avatar/picture icon at the top right-hand side of any page in the forum.
  2. Click on the person icon and select “Summary”.
  3. Next, click on “Badges”

Here you can see all the badges you have earned during your time exploring the forums!

STEP 2: Share Your Entry(ies) to the Challenge :writing_hand:

Click here for notes about challenge inclusivity

Everyone is welcome to join the challenge by practicing magick in line with the current theme. For lurkers and those who don’t feel comfortable sharing, it is absolutely okay to follow along with the challenge but keep your entry personal. Feel free to join in spirit and do what feels most comfortable for you!

That being said, please know that if you would like to receive a prize and a public shout-out, it is required that you share your experience.

Getting Your Credit :white_check_mark:

:exclamation: IMPORTANT : Please don’t forget to include the name of the chosen challenge and/or the badge you want somewhere in your post as well!

If you do not include a challenge or badge name with your entry, I will have to use my best guess and you may not get the title you were hoping for- so please be sure to mention it!

After you have chosen an old challenge (or two, or three!), completed your task, and are ready to share- all you have to do is write/share about your experience and label it as your challenge entry. There is a lot of chatting here (which is awesome- chatting and discussion are very welcome!) so please please PLEASE clearly write that it is your entry so that I know to count it!

Where Should I Share My Entry?

Click here for instructions on where to share your entry

You are welcome to post it right here- just click “reply” :repeat: to this post and write your experience in the text box that pops up!

Alternatively, you could create a new thread in the forum (doing so keeps your entry separate and is a good option if you have a lot to share)

Note : If you do choose to create a new thread, please add the “challenge-entry” tag and/or add a hyperlink back to this post so that it can be easily found- thank you! :bowing_woman:

Deadline :spiral_calendar:

:exclamation: This challenge will close in 6 DAYS :exclamation:

To join in, please share your experience by:

Tuesday, April 18 at 7:00 AM CET (Central European Time)
( Time Converter: 2023-04-18T05:00:00Z)

(Note that the time zone is CET- if you don’t see your time displayed above, you can use this time zone calculator to check for your time zone!)

Prizes :gift:

For their efforts, all participants will receive a special shout-out and a small prize! :gift:

Acknowledgments will be given in a Props and Presents Post that will appear in the forums on Tuesday.

After the challenge closes, you are still very welcome to post but please be aware that no additional prizes will be given. This discussion will remain open for about a week after the challenge finishes.

:gift_heart: :gift: :gift_heart:

A warm reminder that the challenges are designed to be very open- everyone is encouraged to participate in a way that honors and reflects their unique practice :open_book:

I was about 20 minutes late to the original challenge, I had my entry written and everything, now I can post it!

Challenge Entry 1: Sleep & Dream Magick

So I used dream magick to battle the Coronavirus that had made itself comfortable in my body :smirk_cat:

I tried this one with my half asleep state, gathering up light around me. It took me some time, I felt the ball of light get brighter and brighter, as the environment got darker and darker. I placed it on my chest, and I could feel tingling, and the inflammation would ease up. My nose that was also completely blocked, opened up. I aimed it at my throat next, and I could feel the pain there dissolve away.

Next I visualized a pillar of light that covered me completely, flowing right from the Source. I felt all my muscle tension ease up and soon I was feeling free of any tension and pain, basking in the light in pure bliss. I stayed there for a while, and after I opened my eyes all the effects stayed with me.

I have @Solasta_Amore to thank for this one, and her post about physical healing in a lucid dream (that I’m going to link here when I get on my computer). :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: And Goddess herself for the timing, I read Solasta’s post when I was half asleep, so it was easy to fall into a lucid state and do the magick  :sparkles:

In aftermath, I can say that it was a turning point, while I still needed a lot of rest, I had no more fever and I could find taste in my food again. I kinda have the virus to thank too, for showing me how I’ve been treating my body that I love, when it comes to food. It’s been a blind spot for me for a long time.

Keep up those healing practices, they can work wonders! :dizzy:

Yes! My dear @CelestiaMoon, I wanna say I am more than happy in becoming your inspiration for this lucid work! And you actually succeeded in physical healing via lucidity, I have to say, you are a shimmering ball of loving magick! :sparkling_heart: The love you provided to your body and defeated the virus, I am as always in awe of this particular one, love! I dunno how to say this… but YOU are a blessing for this coven…you better love yourself and love your body, coz if not, I will come to your place astrally! :dizzy:   :kissing_heart: :kissing_heart: :kissing_heart:

@Solasta_Amore I will, I promise, but you’re still welcome to drop by if you’re in the same astral neighborhood! :heartpulse: I really appreciate all your love and sweetness, you’re a blessing to this coven too sweetheart :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: :pink_heart: :kissing_heart: :revolving_hearts:

Challenge Entry One - Technologic & Modern Magick

This one is super easy for me because it’s actually something I did recently! I don’t know why I didn’t think of it before, but I created a sigil to use on my YouTube channel that’s purpose is to help my videos find my intended audience and bring them to my channel. This is done using the little image in the bottom right corner of videos that creators have the option to change. It pops open when you hover over it as a reminder to subscribe to the channel.

Screenshot →
image

You can barely see it in the screenshot, and that’s on purpose. I don’t want the image to take away from the video itself, so it’s just something small that can be seen if you look hard enough. Here’s a full-size image of the sigil.

What’s funny is that I know the purpose of the sigil, but if you were to ask me the phrase I used to create it I wouldn’t be able to tell you. I already forgot! :joy: But that’s half the battle of making the sigil – and the work is already being done.

I actually only have one challenge I can do for this catch up— Creative Crafting :hocho:—and then I’ll have all the badges! :exploding_head: Wow, what an accomplishment!

Just need to decide what to do. Maybe I’ll do some drawing or some coloring.

40 Weekly Witch Challenge – Catch up
Challenge entry. Garnet
040. All about altars. - reverent witch
It is my belief, that prehistorically, the “altar” came to be as a place to worship. I assume that they would find a special place to make their ‘altars’. A lovely glen or a special tree, where they would commune with their gods.
In ancient times temples became a building or shelters.
I want to bring attention to some historical temples. To name them all would be a long writing, so I’ll go by country and just the oldest known.

  • The oldest temple in the world so far is the Gbekli Tepe om S.E. Turkey. Built
between 11,500-12,000 BCE In Egypt, temples abounded, from the
  • Temple of Hatshepsut. 1479 BCE Emense and elaborate, this is a beautiful
    Temple to Hathor
  • In Mesopotamia, temples were in most houses, and administrative centers.
In modern-day Isreal, they had 'the Temple in Judaism, called Beit Hamikdash, and The first temple of Solomon 833 BCE
  • In Greece, temples were popular and frequent. To name a few, The temples to Demeter at Eleusis,530 B.C., the Temple of Artemis at Ephesus, and the famous Parthenon to Athena, 550 BC. All contained altars, statues, and pictographs
  • In China, Temples weren’t always to the Devine, an example? The Confucian
Temple in the city of Qufu. 478 BCE
  • India is famous for its Temples and buildings as is Indonesia. India has many temples that revere their gods.
  • Japan, Shinto temples honor spirits of the area
  • Rome boasted the Pantheon (113-125 CE) a temple to their gods. It was only
preserved by Christians because they made it a church

Each of these temples contained an ‘Altar’.
This was a very short list of ancient temples.
My thanks to: Temple - World History Encyclopedia
So, Temples aren’t new, nor are places of worship to include Altars.
But, what is an altar?
A structure or flat surface where prayers, sacrifices, or some religious purpose.
They can be as elaborate as The Ghent Altarpiece, (Almost burned by Calvinists, it has been censored & stolen by Napoleon and Hitler, and in 1931, 1 part of the 12 was stolen and never recovered.) As simple as a pentagram, a colored candle, incense & cup. Or a mini travel Altar It is your choice. It is essentially your place of worship.

My current temple is a little fussy but so am I. It contains a mini chalice, and
Aladdin-type lamp (cause’ it’s cute). A mini Candleabra which holds birthday
candles. A statue of Gaia and a Cobalt bell & Star. This is devoted to Goddess.
Lots of small spheres…
My 2nd altar is dedicated to Bast. I have a lovely statue of the Bastet with
wings on Her, Candles. A sphere stands with some pretty spheres on it. It’s a
work in progress.
Thanks, Garnet

140 Catch Up = this is # 11 - Books, Tomes, and Tales ](📖 Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE- Books, Tomes, and Tales)
Challenge entry – Garnet

Books are so easily gotten on the internet. You can download both
free and purchased books. There are books and subjects that I shy away from.

Gerald Gardner.
After listening to several interviews on youtube I wasn’t too impressed by him or his detractors. Was Mr. Gardner excentric? Absolutely. He was also a person who exhibited behavior, that at the time was considered vulgar and done for impact value. He seemed rather obsessed with nudity. His hair was wild, standing on end. Just an odd individual. He seemed to enjoy looking sinister.
History of Modern Witchcraft | An Aussie Wytch's Book of Correspondencesmodern-witchcraft/

Aleister Crowley
Aleister Crowley was known by many names, 'the wickedest man in
the world, ” King of the Occult”, and “Master Of Darkness.” He was described as a man who was actually banned from Mussolini’s Italy for acts of extreme depravity, and who also rubbed elbows with the most respected writers of the 20th century while penning textbooks on tantric sex magic.

Sylvia Browne
The late Sylvia Browne claimed to be a medium with psychic abilities. I’ve read and or listened to many of her books and as with any prophecies, you take them with a grain of salt. Although she did foresee the Corona Virus in 2020. She was also the one who convinced me that if there was a God, How could there not be a Goddess? She was funny, you should watch one of her videos on youtube.

Deborah Blake
The Goddess Is in the Details, is a good book. Agreed with almost all
of the book. Would recommend it.

140 - Catch up - 3rd entry —

013 Foretelling the Future - Seer Apprentice
CHALLENGE ENTRY - GARNET
There are so many types of divination that I cannot name them
all.
Alphabetically?
Alectryomancy – divination through the study of birds, reptiles and insects.
Arachnomancy – Using spiders to foretell omens
Aeromancy – weather observation for divination.
Apantomancy – Chance encounters with animals. i.e. a black cat crossing your path.
Anthropomancy – the study of entrails
Cromniomancy - Fortune-telling with Onions
Belomancy – Divination with arrows. This one was new to me.
Throw 2 arrows into the air and make note of how they fell. The
position of the arrows would indicate a yes/no answer. Crossed
arrows meant no. They also used axes and swords. Not too different
from throwing a coin into the air and calling heads for yes and
tails for no.
Maculomancy – How about the divination of birthmarks? The study of
birthmarks and moles eventually spread into Europe. The
Gypsies were noted to use birthmarks along with their color, size, and placement.
I got it from an Encyclopedia Britannica dated 1960:
These were the most unusual and interesting ancient divination
practices. Today it would more likely be the use of Tarot, Scrying,
Smoke, pendulums Dousing, etc. would be used in divination. Sorry
Siofra, I forgot Runes!
I found this subject fascinating and informative.
Blessed be

echnologic & Modern Magick – Technomancer
challenge entry

I use tech more than I thought I did for my witch craft

  • I search online for spells, for details on spiritual meanings for herbs, animals, dreams
  • I follow fellow witches on youtube like @MeganB and @SilverBear
-I keep track of my weekly challenges on google drive
    -I use apps for meditations
-I use spells8 to connect with fellow witches and get some great ideas/advice
-I use spells8 courses, albeit slowly, to keep learning
-I use spells8 meditations and daily spells whenever I can

I can’t think of anything else right now.

Thanks!
Now I have to decide what other challenges to work on this week! Exciting!

Weekly Witchy Challenge ~ Catch-up!

I do enjoy my gardens. I recently transformed a pile of old firewood into a future garden. By adding a few tons of compost over the old wood and then mulching it, the old wood over time will add fertility and cut
down on the need to irrigate the bed. The flowers will add beauty and the herbs will make medicine and increase interest in otherwise bland cooking. To our Great Mother owe everything. This challenge hopefully shows that commitment.

The new garden

Today I planted 3 large colocasia bulbs grow into beautiful 5 foot elephant ears.

I look forward to them.
Planted Rosemary by the path so it passes on its beautiful scent as I walk to my back door. Opens the mind as well as being anti-microbial and anti- inflammatory
Oregano- besides being delicious it can be a wonderful ant-biotic
Basil, Sweet- Anti bacterial and a culinary delight
Basil, Tulsi or Holy for its spiritual component

Many other herbs and “weeds” abound in other gardens. Horseradish, rhubarb, sage, mints, sweet annie, etc.

The pantry is near overflowing with dried herbs and tinctures

All that I do in my gardens is with the Great Mother in mind. Making my own compost, keeping the ground covered in mulch. adding to fertility, supporting pollinators, not using poisons and appreciating the beauty and diversity that abounds.

Stay tuned for Challenge #2

Second

Seems my phone doesn’t want to download pics today, so I’ll just tell a story and hope it passes the challenge

I used to meditate A LOT a few years ago, but it seemed that Ritual was over taking Practice. Other things were happening also so I stopped for a long time. But while I was meditating I learned a great deal. The akashic library is open to all that work to seek it and it holds more knowledge than I could ever learn. Meditation was my favorite place to be.

While doing past life regression I travelled back to a few lives. One of the more interesting:

As I flew over a pristine area with ancient trees and fields, I looked down and saw people running.
Realizing I was not human, as I was flying, I saw terror in the peoples eyes, it became obvious they were prey. It scared me to see the others. If these were dragons…they were truly awful to behold. From another dimension, Not demonic just not of the same form as 3 dimensional beings.

I don’t see Dragons the way most people do. It is said by some that reptilians had some sway in human evolution and others had played with our genetics and sentience. It is believed by some that humans were food until that happened.

I was born a Black Water Dragon on the transition of the years 1952-53 in January. A wood person with a water personality according to Chinese and Feng Shui. Dragons always intrigued me, both as a child and whatever I am now. lol When my phone starts acting right I will add some pics of my dragon collection. Until then

and stay tuned for episode 3
