It is one busy time of year! With a huge host of magickal events and happenings over the next week, it’s enough to make even the most outgoing and energetic witches feel exhausted :weary:

All that paired with a New Moon :new_moon: (specifically, a Black Moon- as this week’s new moon is the second this month) appearing overhead this weekend, it is the perfect occasion to carve out some time to treat yourself right with wholesome and rejuvinating self-care :heart:

This week is all about indulging in magick that helps you relax - but how you do so is up to you!

There are many ways that magick can help you relax and unwind! Just remember that one witch’s massage chair is another’s Iron Chair- what works for someone else may not work for you, so feel free to seek out your favorite magickal relaxation methods :sleeping_bed:

The height of relaxation and a perfect pair for various types of spellwork- Bath Rituals (and Shower Rituals) are very popular in the Craft. Feel free to use a premade recipe or consider designing your own!

:open_book: What corresponds with “relax”?

In magick, there is a complex underlying web that relates one thing to another- these are correspondences. Herbs, crystals, deities, months, seasons, colors, etc- these are all things that can be tied to various properties, and then used in magick to get the desired effect.

Consider doing some research this week into magickal items and tools that align with relaxation, comfort, rejuvination, cleansing, etc- here are a few examples:

Rowan’s Weekly Witchy Challenge - Let a Witch Unwind!
Ahhh…relaxation! Actually something I put off more than I actually allow.
I do work in little moments when I’m bee-bopping around the house doing those mundane things.
Music- My favorite unwind asset. I love music, various types and even the sweet sounds of the Singing Bowls (link at the end courtesy of YouTube) during a meditation or Chakra Alignment. Depending on my mood or the energy I choose to project/attract I switch between music such as In this Moment (band), Sam Ryder, Classic Rock, Classical, Jazz, R&B, Celtic, Viking etc. Music soothes my soul and sometimes allows me to express through lyrics what my own words cannot.
Candle Magick- Working some good candle magick always allows my mind to slow down and just ground myself in the moment.
Nature- Nature is a go to simple method of relaxing. I often sit out back on patio either with my morning coffee and just enjoy the sounds, the breeze, or the hot rays of the sun. I have a circus of squirrels that I tend too by feeding them PB sandwiches, sunflower seeds, or oatmeal. They sometimes will chatter so loud like they’re telling me Yo Lady we want some goodies! :rofl:
And of course my ultimate relaxation comes when I go to the Ocean. I will go and stand at the edge of the shore and focus on what ever it is that is weighing me down or what I am having a hard time releasing, as a wave barrels towards the shore I imagine giving that weight to the wave and as the wave pulls back and returns to it’s vastness, It carries that heaviness or stressor with it. I thank the Ocean and I thank the Wind and the Sun. :blue_heart:

Lately, I’ve been looking into books on Chakra. This will be the perfect week to buy one and try to some meditations for relaxing and unblocking them.

Ooh i love it. I am so needing this right now so this is brilliant timing. But where oh where should i even start lol. :thinking: an icepack for the lump on my head n pain killers for the pain for the whack to head i had bout 12 hrs ago that couldnt deal with at the tine as haf to get back ro work would be astart but tgats not really magic basis. Thats more like first aid after the fact…But after the day n week had so far this is a much needed challenge. N im already having a few ideas on what i can do. . :grin:

I think I’m going to start building a few playlists for this challenge for different moods and intentions, relaxation definitely being one of them :relaxed:

I have yet to try a spiritual bath and I intend on doing so this Friday night. I’m in a complete chaotic uproar this week with random things going on in and out of my household. If it’s not something with my kids, it’s my friends. If not my family, then it’s my boyfriend or the dogs! :laughing: :laughing: I feel like this will be much needed on a HOPEFULLY -quiet- Friday Night! :smiling_face: I definitely needed to UNWIND and RELAX this week! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

You deserve it :heart: As for playlists, I’ve used Spotify in the past but recently I’ve been using premade playlists on TouTube when I want to relax :+1: I really love this one by Adrian von Ziegler:

For something much more subtle and deep, this background meditation music video runs for 6 hours- it’s great for a spiritual bath or for going to sleep :relaxed:

@Phoenix_Fire Oh goodness, Danni- that sounds awful! I hope you are okay :pray: There must be ways to get treatment and reimbursement for injuries caused at work- please take care of yourself! :two_hearts:

I think this is a sign for me to chill… And without knowing today, i unconsciously did just that. I decided to put my foot down and take a breather by sleeping in and putting a stop for a few hours to all the business in life. I really helped too

I can use this challenge, slept badly yesterday, this night far to long I feel very tired now. I think I am going to do some bath rituals, or a foot bath just be good to me. Have to work first, so later when I am home again , thanks :blush:

I purchased a book at 5 Below on Saturday called Chakras & Self-Care by Ambi Kavanagh. I haven’t read it yet but it looks like a good one.
