How many challenges can I do this week?

If you are feeling particularly adventurous this week and want to do more than just the usual one challenge, you can do:

Up to THREE CHALLENGES

This limit exists to encourage mindfulness on each challenge- please remember that, although some challenges have similar themes, every challenge requires its own unique entry in order to receive the corresponding badge :medal_sports:

But I want to earn all of the badges!

That is awesome- I am so happy that you enjoy the badges so much!

At the end of the day, badges are just a small token- the challenges are really here to help you improve and enhance your magickal practice. So please try to take your time with your exploration of the theme(s) you choose- they are here to help you help yourself! :sparkles:

(On an administrative note, the limit also exists to save your challenge moderator from a potential ocean of badge-giving for all the various challenges at once! :ocean:)

But for challenge enthusiasts and badge collectors- no fear! You can rest assured that another chance to join in on any additional missed challenges will come again soon. Expect another Catch-Up Challenge and chance to earn old badges every ten challenges :+1:

Not sure which challenges you already participated in? :ballot_box_with_check:

Click here to learn how to check which badges you already have

If you can’t remember if you completed a challenge or not, no worries! You can go to the challenge page and check the entries to see if you submitted.

Additionally, you can go to your Badges page to see a collection of all the titles you previously earned.

Here is how to check your badges:

  1. Click on your avatar/picture icon at the top right-hand side of any page in the forum.
  2. Click on the person icon and select “Summary”.
  3. Next, click on “Badges”

Here you can see all the badges you have earned during your time exploring the forums!

STEP 2: Share Your Entry(ies) to the Challenge :writing_hand:

Click here for notes about challenge inclusivity

Everyone is welcome to join the challenge by practicing magick in line with the current theme. For lurkers and those who don’t feel comfortable sharing, it is absolutely okay to follow along with the challenge but keep your entry personal. Feel free to join in spirit and do what feels most comfortable for you!

That being said, please know that if you would like to receive a prize and a public shout-out, it is required that you share your experience.

Getting Your Credit :white_check_mark:

:exclamation: IMPORTANT : Please don’t forget to include the name of the chosen challenge and/or the badge you want somewhere in your post as well!

If you do not include a challenge or badge name with your entry, I will have to use my best guess and you may not get the title you were hoping for- so please be sure to mention it!

After you have chosen an old challenge (or two, or three!), completed your task, and are ready to share- all you have to do is write/share about your experience and label it as your challenge entry. There is a lot of chatting here (which is awesome- chatting and discussion are very welcome!) so please please PLEASE clearly write that it is your entry so that I know to count it!

Where Should I Share My Entry?

Click here for instructions on where to share your entry

You are welcome to post it right here- just click “reply” :repeat: to this post and write your experience in the text box that pops up!

Alternatively, you could create a new thread in the forum (doing so keeps your entry separate and is a good option if you have a lot to share)

Note : If you do choose to create a new thread, please add the “challenge-entry” tag and/or add a hyperlink back to this post so that it can be easily found- thank you! :bowing_woman:

Deadline :spiral_calendar:

:exclamation: This challenge will close in 6 DAYS :exclamation:

To join in, please share your experience by:

Tuesday, June 27 at 7:00 AM EDT (Eastern US Time)
2023-06-27T11:00:00Z

(Note that the time zone is EDT- if you don’t see your time displayed above, you can use this time zone calculator to check for your time zone!)

Prizes :gift:

For their efforts, all participants will receive a special shout-out and a small prize! :gift:

Acknowledgments will be given in a Props and Presents Post that will appear in the forums on Tuesday.

After the challenge closes, you are still very welcome to post but please be aware that no additional prizes will be given. This discussion will remain open for about a week after the challenge finishes.

:gift_heart: :gift: :gift_heart:

:gift_heart: A Special Bonus Prize

In addition to the badge(s) associated with the challenge(s) you enter, everyone who participates in this Catch-Up Challenge will receive an additional badge unique to the 150th Challenge :medal_military:

As this 150th Challenge badge is unique to this event, it is exclusive to this challenge and will not be available in future Catch-Up Challenges.

A warm reminder that the challenges are designed to be very open- everyone is encouraged to participate in a way that honors and reflects their unique practice :open_book:

If you have any doubts about if something is acceptable to post or say, please double-check with the Forum FAQ and/or reach out to your friendly Moderator Team .

And for those new to challenges- welcome! Know that the goal of these activities is to help you further diversify and strengthen your abilities and to bring together the Spells8 forum family to inspire and support one another in creative ways :hugs:

The clock has stopped so the door of missed opportunities can open once again- spread your wings and don’t be afraid to delve into a previously unexplored of magick!

:mage: :infinite_roots: :trophy:

Blessed Be!

I think this is the first time since I joined the forum that I can’t participate in a challenge—I don’t have any catching up to do!

EDIT: The Summer Solstice marks my third year in the Craft. Could I post something solstice related?

invitation 1 Circles in Magick
Circle of Protection, what a great thing!
Whatever the Witch does must be within Her Circle to have protection and to concentrate her energy
When he learns at the beginning, he can use stones or rope
Then a second with candles and the third with salt
After she is experienced with the meditation she first makes a white circle of light around her above and below a second gold in the same way and finally towards the outside a blue electric
She and her partners are in the triple circle and she is ready to start

First of all, congratulations on having all the badges! That’s a heck of a feat!

I think you can do any challenge again, you just won’t get a badge for it. I’m sure a Solstice post would qualify as one of them!

Edit: Okay, so I’m missing 20 challenges :joy: now to pick three I can do!

:tada:  :fireworks: :clap:t3: Yaaaaaaaaay, catch up time!!! Although I feel like it was just a catch-up challenge. Boy is this year flying by!

Time to pull out my challenge spreadsheet and find 3 that I haven’t finished. Eventually, I’ll get them (well almost all of them) done :crossed_fingers:t3:

I always love being able to squeeze extra challenges in!

Alright, so my first challenge entry is for  Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE- Dream Magick!

I haven’t been sleeping very well for a while. I have no clue why, but I sleep and don’t feel rested. I mean, I sleep for between 7 and 9 hours a night. I don’t wake up at night or anything. Sleep is just hard for me

So, I created this sigil to use while I sleep. I thought about putting it on my skin somehow, maybe with a spell oil or something. I think I will draw it on some paper first and put it in my pillow!

I did this twice because the first one was too many letters for me to make it look nice.

Attempt #1

Attempt #2

I like attempt two the best. Attempt one was too busy and I just couldn’t bring it together in a way I liked.

Attempt two is better, in my opinion. It has a better flow as a sigil - plus it kinda looks like a person lying down in bed. The point of the cup-like symbol on top is an open vessel for distress. The line over the top is the closure of that vessel, symbolizing me being closed off to anything that will get in the way of having restful sleep.

My second challenge entry is for 🏆 Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - The Challenger

I assigned each of my missing challenges a number and used a random number generator to pick one to do. This time, I landed on The Challenger! It’s funny because I was thinking about what I could do for this challenge if I were to do it again. Astrology is one thing that came to mind because it’s something I’ve always wanted to learn more about. So, for this challenge, I decided to create a basic guide to the meanings of each planet in astrology and how it corresponds to our personal lives. This will be added to my grimoire later when I print it out.

This is super, super basic, but it’s just the beginning! Here’s what I’ve got. You can save them and keep them if you want. The information I used came from my Time Passages app.

My third and final challenge entry will be for ❤️‍🩹 Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - Wholesome Healers

One thing that kept coming to my mind when thinking about this challenge is inner child healing. It isn’t a physical pain or ailment, but for those of us with trauma, it’s a mental and subconscious healing that’s necessary. It’s not something I’ve really done before – and honestly, it kind of freaks me out – but I wanted to create a tarot spread to help get me started and point me in the right direction.

Tarot Spread for Inner Child Work

Card One: how my inner child feels currently
Card Two: what my inner child needs right now
Card Three: how I can best give my inner child love and support
Card Four: something I left in childhood
Card Five: a message from my inner child

You can arrange the cards in any way you choose, but I chose to go with an arch – like a rainbow!

Obviously, I’m not going to reveal my full reading to you, but here’s an image of the cards laid out – card one is all the way on the left.

Ooooh that’s a great idea! I just got all the challenges entered into an actual spreadsheet instead of just a running list in document form, so this would be a great idea for me to pick from the ones I’m still missing! Thanks for the inspiration!

Challenge Entry 1 All About Runes

Always wanted to learn about Runes I bought my first set at the beginning of the year, I’m still doing research and studying to try and learn more about them. I use the Runic Formulas app to help read the runes when I cast them. I’ve also been learning how to draw runic formulas and bindrunes. I have drawn one on myself and it definitely helped me. I’m still very new to runes but if anyone has any other advice, books or apps I should get to help with runes I much appreciate it. This is todays cast

and who designed them

Challenge Entry 2 A Touch of Tarot

Im still fairly new to reading cards but I have been reading my own and studying with the Labyrinthos app and here on spells8 to give me different spread options. Ive been reading the family’s cards every Wednesday and so far I have been able to interpret the cards correctly to their questions they ask. I have only been doing 1-3 card spreads. I also did a read for someone who wanted answers from a loved one that passed, very new and very emotional one for me. I think with some more time and practice I’ll be a decent card reader. Todays card

And my deck

Challenge Entry 3 Astrology: Reading the skies

I’ve always been into astrology but never knew exactly what to look for or what to read till recently. I am and Aries first of the Zodiacs, the Ram, Fire sign, Cardinal, Ruling planet Mars. When I finally learned what an Aries person is I definitely fit that description . Here recently I found out about the different stages of each Zodiac and it’s pretty interesting this is a link if anyone wants to know which stage they are in The Three Stages of Each Zodiac Sign That Most People Don‘t Know About not sure how accurate it is but I found it pretty accurate for me. Another fun fact I have all 3 Fire signs in my household me being Aries my husband a Leo and our 2 children are Sagittarius, lot of fire going on over here :joy:
