Magick Gardens Two

It’s such a sad affair, too :sob: I’m not sure they’ll make it past next week. We’re supposed to have rain every.single.day next week. Honestly, it’s partially my fault because I planted them too late in the season. I’m not much of a gardener when it comes to planting and watching zones and stuff. I need to get better at that :joy: but I’m doing my best!

I’m sure I’ll have lots of pictures of my banana plant when it starts to produce in…a year? :joy: Something like that! I still forgot to take a picture of it when I went outside yesterday. I’ll try and remember today!

I am so sorry Megan, I am having the opposite here. It is so hot and dry here we will probably have a burn ban next Wednesday. It’s already 95 degrees out and it’s still morning time. I’m tired of Summer and it’s only July 1st.

@BryWisteria
Your Lavender is gorgeous :purple_heart: I bought a new Lavender plant, but it’s still pretty small. It does have a few blooms though!

@MeganB
I feel your pain… I’m not much of a gardener either, I don’t have enough Earth :earth_element: in my chart. I do a lot of trial-by-error gardening! Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t! We had a very wet and cool Spring, so I got a late start this summer too!

@Ostara
I love your :green_heart: lemon grass! Looks like it loves the heat! :hot_face:

My Hollyhocks are blooming! :pink_heart: :black_heart: :heartpulse:

The Sunflowers in the yard are getting tall but no blooms yet!

Not very many even came up!

Sunflowers in the Front Yard!

Some of the Sunflowers are blooming but they are small and deformed! Too much rain, and not enough sunshine! :slightly_frowning_face: :sunflower:

This is exactly how I do things :rofl: and you’re right - sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. I make do with what I’ve got!

Some of you may remember last year when I took the pineapple top and put it in dirt and it starting growing. I took it into the house during winter so it wouldn’t die. Now it has a baby!

Thank you Marsha. I babied it all winter and it loves the front porch. It doesn’t mind the heat at all!

I made my improvised rain barrel today! :clap: Just in time for it to rain literally every single day this coming week. It’s not pretty, but it works!

I got the barrel on Facebook marketplace for $10, cut the top off, and used that fabric stuff you put down to keep the weeds out. Then I put a bungee cord around it to hold the fabric in place and a chunk of concrete in the middle to hold it down so the water pools on it. I tested it out with my water hose and it works perfectly!

Oh! And you can see my little banana plant in the background!

It’s supposed to rain every day this week where I am, too. It’s normal Florida summer, though, so I’m not shocked :laughing:

I love it! That’s a great idea. Your banana plant is beautiful! I think I’m going to have to do a rain spell so we will get rain. Lol!
