I believe so too And I feel the same with my previous relationships, there was lots of love and important lessons both ways. All of us got a little bit closer to who we are, sometimes it comes with the realization of not wanting to be together after all and thatās okay too, even if itās painful. I have a good feeling about this one lasting though
Yea I knowā¦maybe weāre gonna have to wear helmets!
My husband also has these worries. He fell down concrete steps and he has many of the same problems. He also developed mental health issues as a result.
Thatās what PT recommended. Instead of going til Iām exhausted just do a little bit at a time, especially with exercise. Why didnāt I think of that
My husband doesnāt always understand how hard things are for me, but at the same time he doesnāt push me because he sees me struggling.
The other thing with ALS is energy conservation, so thatās another factor. I have leg braces and special shoes which are heavy. The other thing that gets to me is even if I exercise to keep my muscles strong, I will still lose those muscles. Sometimes I think well whatās the point, but I donāt give up!
Youāre not overstepping! I appreciate the suggestions and will try them! I also appreciate how much you care! Love you too
Sometimes we do need a little push. Feeling personally attacked when someone gives us criticism is very heard to get over that thinking even if itās helpful. I still think of some of those criticisms and feel bad even though they werenāt bad.
That is great! Sometimes it takes time, but with communication and honesty, you can work together to make your relationship stronger! Iāve learned that I have to be very specific with my husband when I want him to do something in particular situations. Idk if that makes. Often times he just doesnāt know what to do. I realized heās not a mind reader!
Oh, I forgot to mention that my son got his 1st college acceptance letter! They offered him at $18000 scholarship per year for 4 years! Iām so proud of him!
Congratulations to your son! Thatās freaking awesome! So happy for you guys. Going off that other post you made on feelings. A good idea would be to write out how this makes u feel. How does it make you feel that he got the scholarship on his own. Iām sure u have feelings about it. It would also be a good ice breaker into feeling and targeting emotions. Just a thought
@Nixi I just fell again! Hit my head! Ugh so frustrating. Itās gonna take some time before I walk much again! I feel so helpless when I fall because I cannot get up. I canāt even use my legs to help when someone lifts me. Anywayā¦enough about my troubles!
Iām so sorry this happened. I hope you can feel a bit better and have enough acccessible tools in your tool belt (wheelchair/rollator), etc. to help make you as independent as you can be and know that you also are depending on others (not a bad thing). I hope you can have your home and all environments as accessible as possible and as safe as possible for you. Thinking of you. Take time for rest too.
I have wheelchairs, rollators, hand rails, etcā¦the only problem is getting my wheelchair through doorways! Damn house is not very accessible, but weāre working on it! I run into everything and tore the weather stripping off the door lol
Oh honey Iām so sorry. How do you feel? I describe mild - moderate concussion as feeling like youāve had a bit too much what I call Magic Medicine but without the fun part My husband keeps threatening to wrap me in bubble wrap, looks like he should send you some too and when I said walk, I didnāt mean run
Congratulations @tracyS & @john1 Wonderful to have you both in the forum!
Iām sorry you are going through all of this @Sivonnah & hope you are okay after hitting your head! I do have a roll of bubble wrap if you should need it. Congratulations on your son receiving an acceptance letter too!
Happy 1 year anniversary @starborn, sorry itās belated, but wonderful that you have been with us for a while now!
@CelestiaMoon Iām so happy for you & your girlfriend. Itās always nice to have some balance & be able to work with each other in a beneficial way.
We had a weird version of the winter storm, it was more rain & wind than snow, so it was actually like slushy heavy snow that was melting, then froze, then it rained again⦠now thereās no snow & it was 47 here today. We did have some coastal flooding where the roads were closed for a week on the coast & are still being worked on in certain areas. We also have another high wind & heavy rain storm coming this week too.
Iāve had a week full of surprises. Really since last Friday morning⦠itās just been multiple surprises each day. Some needed immediate attention & others just interrupted every day this week. Family urgent & emergency medical visits among others.
I hope that everyone has been able to have a good week so far! Iām working on re-organizing my things⦠but these daily emergent visits & multiple necessary follow ups & items that have been needed have taken a toll thatās for sure!
@john1 good idea with the snow water. I had some the last time it snowed here. I do have ocean water, moon water, & storm water. Itās been a while since Iāve had some good snow water though
@Satans_Helper these may help you with how to work with Snow Water
