Bravo indeed! Congratulations @dan3 and @Mystique on receiving these badges, and for being the wonderful contributors that you are! Congrats for being elevated to the Hall of Fame, @Mystique !

Happy Monday to everyone! This is a special week for me because I have no scheduled appointments (outside of a haircut), and no major projects nipping at my heels to finish. Amazing!

Our weather continues to be perfect for October: cool, sunny days and chilly clear nights. The moon has been beautiful regardless of phase. Our big Crimson King maple tree is just starting to really shed leaves, so the day when we have major raking to do is getting closer.

I’ve mostly caught up with developing my film from my late August holiday: some winners, some losers, some boring stuff. :joy: In other words, normal vacation shots!

Hope everyone has a beautiful week!

Congratulations! Great job, and thank you for your time and energy. Welcome to the Hall of Fame, @Mystique !

Today, I’m calling a day of rest, despite all the work I have to do. It’s so dark and cloudy outside that lunchtime feels like dawn. We need the rain, as the sand bars in the Rio Grande are almost as big as the river itself. Wind suggests it might rain soon.

Researching more correspondences this week.

I’d like to do a craft item in honor of the Native Americans and in memory of a craft I had up in my teen years. The supplies are together, but I admit I have little ambition at the moment. Maybe after lunch and a nap.

Thank you @BryWisteria !

Congrats to all for being you! @Mystique - totally cool to get five repeats on recognizing posts. Thank you! We all like being recognized.

This week I’m recovering from an effort that lasted all last week. Time to go shopping and just enjoy. (OK… I know I won’t do that but I can dream, Right?)

:tada: Congratulations on the special shout-outs, the 3 week streaks, the special badge @dan3 and the hall of fame @Mystique :tada:

Yaaaaaaay, it’s my favorite time of year (fall)!!! Enjoy your cozy naps, warm drinks and beautiful weather!

My day at the RenFest was amazing! The three of us had so much fun, window shopping through the vendor’s stores, watching the shows, and eating great food. Last minute I decided to make some “trinkets” to bring for trinket trading and boy was that so much fun figuring out who traders were and surprising them with the beaded keychains I made with cat’s eye, blue tiger eye, and silver beads! I did break down and treat myself to a beautiful piece of Renaissance clothing with the plan to make the accompanying cloak, chemise, and skirt. It was a great day with so many wonderful costumes (and pictures of the coplayers).

My kitty had a bit of a setback back the end of last week, but seems to be improving again. :crossed_fingers:

Wishing everyone a wonderful week!

Congratulations @dan3 and @Mystique ! You guys are awesome! And a special congrats of being added to the Hall of Fame @Mystique !

I hope everyone’s week is getting off to a good start. I’ve got a peaceful week ahead, with just the garden club board meeting on Friday morning.

I’m putting together a little travel altar with essentials to take up to the cabin with us, so Eric and I can celebrate our anniversary, and Samhain together.

Have a wonderful week!

Here’s hoping for continuing improvement for the kitty!

Oh, I’m so happy to hear about the RenFest! I failed to find one close to me this year. It’s been too long!

Well, you know I just have to see it - this sounds awesome! I’m sure the whole day was a feast for the eyes, and your “trinkets” were a hit! :sparkles:

Thank you @BryWisteria for the new badges! Thank you everyone for the congratulations :purple_heart::purple_heart::purple_heart:

This is my least favorite and favorite time of year at the same time. I’m excited for Samhain and love decorating for Halloween. But the cold makes my fibromyalgia hurt real bad so my entire body hurts all the time.

Busy week for me. It’s my week to babysit my grandkids and this is MEA week so the youngest has no school all week and the older 3 have Thursday and Friday off. And they have lots of appointments this week also so lots of running around.

Have a great week all y’all!!
Blessings :purple_heart::purple_heart::purple_heart:

Congratulations, @dan3, on the three-week streak! Way to go! And @Mystique, congratulations on the Fifth Time at the MMM badge! You Hall of Famer, you! Do you get your own baseball card now?

I hope you have a nice haircut and a fun week! Sometimes, you just need a few days of doing nothing.

Hey, you’re doing better than I am. I’d love to do something, but it’s late and my brain is fried.

Hey, you can act like that for tonight. But I’m afraid RL will get angry if you don’t get back to it tomorrow.

That sounds like it was so much fun! I’m glad you had a good time!

Keeping my fingers crossed for them too!

That sounds lovely! Great idea!

Good luck! I hope everything goes well for you!

So, I’m going to have a weird week. My leg is still healing, but the process is slow. Most likely because of the meds I’m taking for another thing. So I’m going to that doctor on Wednesday morning to see if I can change it. What fun. And in two weeks, I’m seeing the orthopedic doctor to get help for the arthritis in my knees. I’m going to probably end up with giant needles being poked into me at some time, I just know it.

I’m starting to think about what I want to do for Samhain. I’d like to stay up, but I don’t think that’s possible. I’m too tired by the end of the week to do it. Oh well. Maybe next year. Still, I have some good ideas to both honor the dead and welcome in the new year.

Other than that, not much is going on for me this week. I’m trying to watch as many scary movies and Halloween things on YouTube as I can. That’s about it. I just watched one on Tubi, but while it was okay, it wasn’t that good. Early mad doctor zombie type thing. I should have watched Sinners again.

Have a good week, folks!

You poor thing! I’ve had the knee injections done - twice now - and all I can do is reassure you that they don’t even hurt. They’ve gotten very good at topical anesthesia. If you don’t want to look (I always do, just my past working in medical offices) you likely won’t know your doctor is done until they say so!

It doesn’t have to be a steroid, either: I’ve had 2 other options offered to me. I just keep going with my former PT routine and hope not to have to go back. Best of luck, sweetie!

Thanks for the reassurance, love! I’ve had big needles stuck in me before, and dealt with it without a pain killer, so I’ll get through this. I just hate the idea of it, you know? Urgh. Plus, I know it’s a monthly thing, or close to it. I don’t want to do it every month.

Pardon me while I go look for some cheese to go with my whine. LOL!

I used to love going to the Texas Renaissance Festival, which is about 45 minutes away from us. Sadly though, my knees won’t allow me to enjoy walking around there any more. They do rent motorized mobility scooters, but it would still be diffcult to browse the shops (and I’d be worried someone would steal the scooter if I left it unattended).

I’d like to try to do it anyway, perhaps find a spot, close to some shops and food vendors or one of the entertainment stages and just people watch for an hour or two.

Unfortunately Monday was not a good day and I have a feeling the entire week will be bad. 7 year old granddaughter fell and hit her head on a cement floor Sunday night. Knocked herself unconscious. She has a minor concussion and is having headaches and dizziness from it. On top of that she started getting sick with stuffy nose and sore throat yesterday. The youngest grandson is sick with head cold. The oldest two boys (10 and 6) have ADHD and the 6 year old is functional autistic. Their meds wear off at about 4 in the afternoon so they spent the afternoon beating on each other. :woman_facepalming:t2:. Babysat 12 hours. Hoping today (Tuesday) goes better.

I wanted to reassure you but I’m afraid of jinxing you in the process. I’ll just send you good vibes for you and all your grandbabies. I hope the 7 year old feels better today, her poor head must be hurting something awful!

I hope you do try! :folded_hands: The NC faire also rents mobility scooters, and I saw more than a few wonderfully dressed participants (and thought of you )! If yours is anything like ours, there are many events to sit and watch besides people watching. The faire staff here were especially entertaining.

Oh no!!! I am so sorry to hear about her concussion and the youngest’s head cold. Goodness, that does sound like a stressful and tiring day! :crossed_fingers: today is easier :pink_heart:

Oh, what a scary thing to have happen to this little girl! I’m so sorry. You have your hands full this week, don’t you?

I hope it gets a little easier today, and for the rest of the week. Sending positive vibes your way! Keep us posted about the little one.

@Mystique I’m so sorry to hear about your granddaughter falling and hitting her head on the floor. Sending positive energy that the week improves and your granddaughter feels better. Concussion can take a while to recover from.

@Artemisia I think the NC Faire is very like the Texas one. As you say, there are lots of events to watch - comedians, musicians, a falconer, and the faire staff are great, always engaging the visitors.

I dont know if the trinket trading is common down here, I’ve never noticed it
