As a thrifty witch I love repurposing and as a result save everything~including eggshells.
But how to remove the shell from the egg without essentially decimating it has been something that has eluded me for decades.
After consulting with Isis (as she IS the egg goddess) I was intuitively led to this unusual method.
Place the hard boiled egg in a glass jar, tub or cup, fill about halfway with cold water and vigorously shake for about five seconds.
This is actual magick as you’ll be amazed as you watch that shell slip off.
From there pop the shell back into cold water and just let it sit~2 hours, 4 hours~overnite~whatever and then place the wet shells on paper towels, allow them to dry and then watch that skin bit (that you don’t want in your shell powder) peel away from the shell.
For me as I’m putting those said peeled shells right into a grinder to dust them I don’t mind if they break at this point.
This has been an absolute game changer for me and I hope it is an eggcellent for you as it has been for me! (get it EGG~cellent)
I’m such an egghead.
Blessed be!

That’s great! I do save the eggshell to grind in my mortar. Glad there is an easier way to do it! Thank you for sharing

I do that too. Or grind it up to add to black salt

Loving both this tip (many thanks to you and to Isis! ) and the eggstraordinary egg puns @AliceInWonderdab and @Saulamay

I save them also! I’m so grateful to be able to get the shell skin membrane off cos I find it adds a weird shade when I’m crushing it up.
