Eric and I have been having a lovely time on our visit to England. The first four days were with my dad, then we went to Cornwall to stay with a friend I have known since elementary school. Now we are in Somerset with another friend I have known for about 50 years. And last night I met an English witch! We were with my friend Katie and she took us into a pub after dinner to meet one of her friends. I immediately noticed her beautiful pentacle necklace and Katie mentioned we may have something in common (I had previously told Katie of my interest in the craft) We had a lovely chat and hope to keep in touch.
On my birthday my friend Lorna took us to Lands End and the beach at Sennen Cove. I even got to swim in the sea
Then we went out for a meal and as a surprise yet another friend I had seen in 50 years joined us.
Yessss!! It took my breath away every time a wave came further up my body but eventually I just dunked myself and started swimming. Then it wasn’t so bad
I can imagine you tentatively walking in I bet is was such a laugh. You a braver than me however with it being hot I would have been tempted. Glad you did it another great memory with your friend how is little spirt bear enjoying his vacation he is so cute
Lovely pictures, looks like you had an awesome time!! Introduced, on the sly, to another witch, now magickal (pun intended). As Moonbeam asked how cold was the water?
Thank-you for sharing your fun time, brought a smile to me!!
I don’t think I could have stood touching even my toes in the water.
I met my first declared witch near Mildenhall - quite a long time ago. The English have more tolerance to such things so it wasn’t rare to meet one openly declaring their path.
Today we spend the day with Katie as she drove us around Exmoor. Here are a couple of photos, including one of my spirit bear who has been traveling with us.
@Greenbriar Ah that is what I have been waiting for Little Spirt Bear with you as I know he means so much. I have not been to Exmoor did not even know they had a lake. Thank you I am learning about my own Country! I must get out more
I have a reservoir across the road but it is nothing like that they do a bit of fishing but that one looks really lovely, great for families with the activities. Thank you for the update
Thank you for the update and the lovely pictures @Greenbriar
Your spirit bear is so stinkin´cute!!!
I´m very happy you´re having a great time and being surrounded by lovely people.
Today was a bit of a challenge. We were both a bit stressed as we from Staines to Kings Cross in London with a change at Vauxhall, where the elevator was out of order and we had track down someone to help us with our luggage and my rollator up the stairs. But we made it and are now comfortably resting in a very nice hotel in Edinburgh for two nights. We’re going to putter as much as our knees will allow tomorrow and hopefully get to see some of the city on the hop on, hop off bus. Then we are off on a tour of the Highlands for five nights.
