We are now back in Edinburgh for a couple of days before heading back down south to Dad’s. Edinburgh is now heaving with tourists as the Edinburgh Festival starts in a couple of days, but we did manage to walk around a bit. We made it up a very steep hill to the Castle, where preparations are being made for the Festival and Military tattoo. We also walked back down the Royal Mile and we did visit the Witch’s Museum. In the afternoon we took a guided bus tour of the city.

Thank for your latest photographs they are wonderful. Did you like the whiskey? I love the Tartan Shop and the outside of Distillery was not what I was expecting I am so glad that the Company has done something different to blend in with nature. The bridge is amazing too.
If you could recommend one place in the Highlands where would it be. I have never been and your opinion would be lovely.
It does look busy glad you managed to do all the things you wanted to. The Castle looks looks amazing.
I have managed to read the notices by most of the photographs in the Witch’s Museum and the description of my Zodiac Sign. They were fascinating to read about the Scottish Witch Trials and Lilas Adie. Thank you.

I’m not a whiskey person but it wasn’t bad at all, and I’m sure I could get to like it eventually.
It’s hard to choose a favorite place, but a city like Edinburgh has a LOT to offer in the ways of museums (free admission), culture, history, restaurants and pubs etc. Just make sure you avoid the first week of August unless you like crowds.
We also enjoyed our time on the Isle of Skye.
And we can highly recommend Highland Explorer Tours. They offer day trips, 3-, 5- and 8-day tours all round Scotland. The drivers/tour guides will entertain and inform you.

I was talking to my Husband about all your adventures and I have said that we must go up to Scotland as I never been not sure why! I think life and work gets in the way or something crops up when I have booked time off. I am not a fan of whisky either but you have to try it. I have put the tour on my iPad and saved it. It is definitely on my bucket list though. So thank you for letting me tag along with you.

Facebook just showed me an ad for Black Moon Botanica, a candle and occult shop on Candlemakers Row. Google maps claims it is 11 minutes away, but there appear to be at least two staircases, so we can’t pay a visit 
I know my limits.
But… They have a website!

Final update. We are now safely back home, after an adventurous train ride from Scotland back down Dad’s near Heathrow. Flight home went smoothly with assistance and wheelchairs to aid us through the airports at both ends. Cats were happy to see us home.
Here are some photos of our last day with dad, we stopped at Shepperton Lock on the Thames and had a cup of coffee while watching the boats go through the lock.

Thank for your final update of your time spent in the UK and that you are now safely back home. Your cats would have missed you a lot and no doubt will be under your feet for a while bless. The locks look very peaceful and having a coffee with your Dad and watching the barges going through must have been lovely.
I am glad that the weather was kind whilst during your visit for most part and you both managed to achieve all your plans and enjoyed your adventure going the full length of the UK that is some achievement with Little Spirt Bear I hope he enjoyed it too. Your Dad looks well and happy.
My goodness you did so well taking the photographs on your phone whilst in flight. Megan recently posted some from her trip on a plane under the Skies Beautiful in general discussion and I said that I must start to take photographs (how strange as you have just done it).
Thank you for giving your time out of such a busy schedule posting your photographs and where you are when they were taken I have enjoyed travelling around my own Country with you and your Husband.
I wonder where Little Spirt Bear’s next adventure will be.
