Random Questions

Hey y’all!

Happy spiritual Fundamental Friday!

So I have some genuine questions, and just want everyone’s beliefs, opinions, etc. I’m not sure if these are considered “stupid questions” but I was always taught “if you don’t know something, or don’t understand it, ask until you do” .

1st question: Is it okay to pull tarot cards for your minor children just to see how they’re doing emotionally? Like my kids don’t really pronounce words right, or just completely get the word wrong and I have no idea what they’re talking about, more than I’d like to admit. So, asking them some questions on what they’re thinking or feeling is a little hard for them to spit out, and that’s totally okay. But I was just wondering if it was unethical to find whatever page card corresponds with their zodiac sign (significator card) and then read the card behind and in front , only to get an idea of what possibly could be happening in their little world?

2nd question: so, you know how sometimes a pendulums answer MIGHT be biased? Like if the pendulum is reading what you’re actually thinking or feeling? Does tarot cards do that too? And I mean, like is it POSSIBLE for a tarot card reading to be biased, off of what the reader is thinking or feeling about the question asked? Or what the reader might believe the truth of the question is?

I’m not sure if I’m making sense.

However, I hope y’all tell me y’all’s thoughts , opinions, or spiritual fundamentals ( see what I did there? ).

From the bottom of the boot (S. Louisiana),

-Kristina.

Fantabulous Friday Suck :sun_with_face:,

I love your questions, and I love the quote; I always say, “go ahead and ask, if the answer is no, you’re back where you started”. I see absolutely no harm in asking questions.

As for #1-I’m not sure if you are asking the cards to tell you how or what the kids are feeling. Or, like you say, there is a little problem in the communication (speaking) are you wanting to use the cards as a translator, what they are trying to say? I sometimes ask my cards what another person is thinking.
Question 2–Absolutely, your read may be biased. You know what you are thinking and feeling, so I think it is very easy to fit that mindset with the cards that are pulled. On the other hand, you understand the circumstances much better for your own question, so it may be easier to understand the read of the cards. To make sure I do not fall into the trap of seeing what I want to read in the cards by using a freed tarot site. I pose my questions there very vague. No gender, no type of yes or no…Example…what is so-and-so thinking of today? How will the day progress for me? Nothing that the AI will be bend in any one direction positive nor negative. I can’t believe it, but about 85% or more of the AI reads are spot-on! So, how is the weather in the boot? It’s actually cool today. Five am when I got up, it was only 87 degrees, and it actually felt cool, Now, 4pm and it is only 96!!! For us in July/August this is CHILL weather. However, the weathermen all over town have been predicting 115-125 this weekend.:scream: Not too afraid, I’ve been here in 120+ weather back in the 70’s, and a few times since.

I have no kids, so no clue. But I’d say it would be okay. Like asking Grandma if she thought the kids were doing okay. You’re not reading a diary.

I think you mean confirmation bias, and I remember asking about this before, but it was a couple of years ago and I’m not sure what we decided. And I can’t find the post now, so who knows what we did. But to me, it’s okay because you are sort of asking a part of yourself for the answer. It’s just making it easier to communicate.

But yeah, just my own thoughts.

I think these are great questions!

The only person who can truly decide this is you. It’s an ethical question, and since everyone views things differently, you have to decide for yourself if it’s something you’re okay with. I’m personally okay with it, but only because I know my daughter wouldn’t mind. Otherwise, I would ask a question more along the lines of how I can best support my child in their life right now. That still gives you some insight on their world while focusing the energy of the question on yourself.

Unless you’re looking at the cards face-up and choosing them that way, the cards you pull won’t be biased. That doesn’t mean your interpretation of them won’t be, though. You know your situation best. This means that no matter what card you pull, you will likely be able to draw conclusions for that situation based on that specific card. There is such a thing as confirmation bias, like Amethyst mentioned, which is why I try not to do readings when I’m in an overly emotional state. I know that my brain will try to give me the answer that I want in any way that it can.

Super Saturday Megan,

I did not know the phrase, “confirmation bias”. That is what I meant when reading for yourself. Thank-you for explaining it so clearly!!

You’re welcome  I thought we had a post about it around here somewhere, but I guess not  I might see about writing one up in the near future!

Greetings from the Southerns.

How are you today, lady gene?

The weather here is :fire:  HOT  :fire:

It’s so darn hot that when you take a shower, the cold water is hot because it’s hot outside. If you walk out the front door, you instantly can’t breathe, and feel like a roasted chicken. I wish I was exaggerating. Also, we had a good bit of rain, and it took a long time to dry up, so now our grass is over grown and snakes are out. We have those water moccasins, or cotton mouths (they’re the same snake). Most of Louisianas poisonous snakes are apart of the pit viper family. There’s always a disagreement on if the cotton mouths is aggressive enough to actually chase people and climb into their boats, and let me tell you, THEY CHASE PEOPLE (in my own personal experience & opinion). It’s wild! I remember I almost stepped on one that was coiled up, & sunbathing on the concrete pavers outside my front door, & I was walking out of my house barefoot to go grab something from the car, and I almost stepped on it! I WAS In the motion of stepping on it! When I noticed it, it’s like there was an angel or guardian protecting me because I remember my foot being right above it, and it’s like I stepped on an invisible but physical boundary or something. Next thing I remember is crying and running so fast that I don’t even remember my feet touching the ground, but I do remember it chasing me all the way to the car and me bawling my eyes out (I’m terrified of snakes, especially ones that are chasing me to bite me despite me almost accidentally stepping on it BUT DID NOT.) :face_exhaling:

THANKFULLY, after slowing down on the crying, my fight or flight kicked in, and I remember my grandfather’s lesson on if that situation ever happened. I found me a shovel, and I stabbed the ground to scare off any other snakes by the vibration, as I walked to my back door. I was definitely not going back the other way! :person_gesturing_no:

When I got near my back door, I realized the grass was long in that area, so I used the shovel as a pole vaulting tool and polevaulted myself to the back steps. I cried the entire way there, but mostly in the car. After my husband unlocked the back door, those were tears of post fear/ happiness to over come that fear.:person_shrugging:

This was a few years ago, that this happened. But, I never forgot, because it made me realize how hardcore Louisiana outdoor wild life really is, and I don’t like it. I think Id rather walk out to the sight of a full grown alligator, than walking out to the sight of a cotton mouth, but that’s just my opinion.

I wish we had some of that cool weather right about now! I’m not sure of the actual temperature reading in my area, but I do know there’s a huge difference in 98° weather in Southern Louisiana vs. Northern Louisiana (only two places that ive lived in), and let me tell ya, Southern Louisiana is WAYYYYY hotter. It’s more humid. Northern Louisiana didn’t have that much humidity, so even if it was hot, you could still breathe as you spent time outside.

They also didn’t have mosquitos. Here, where I live, we have mosquitos the size of butterflies! We joke around and call the mosquito our “State Bird” because we see more of them than we do our actual state bird, the pelican.:rofl:

You’re welcome! It’s a common phrase that I’ve heard, but I don’t hear it often. I can’t remember where I picked it up. LOL!

Was it this discussion, by any chance?

Does a daily tarot draw give you preconceived notions?

@BryWisteria once again, coming in clutch with your great knowledge and expertise of the platform! YOU ROCK!

I’m going to go ahead and review the article and see what it says!

Totally agree with this. I think it is hard to keep personal bias out of pulls we do for ourselves. Watching others, I have sometimes wondered how they arrived at the reading. Still good, though.

Yay! I only remembered because I passed by it in a forum deep dive not too long ago  It’s a great topic!

It’s a bit of an old discussion, but it has some gems of wisdom from folks - I hope you find it interesting! Happy reading :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Ohh shucks, I’m more like a virtual janitor or librarian! Nothing royal about sorting and labeling all the discussions into their categories and tags haha - just humble organization  (but thank you!)

You think being the Queen isn’t hard work? Nope, it’s usually the King that gets all the perks and takes all the credit.

I have lions on my mind (from today’s Lion’s Gate group ritual), and it definitely sounds like that’s the case in a pride! :lion:

Perhaps it’s better to be royalty in a tarot deck. At least all the cards, court, major, and minor, are all working in some way (Except for maybe the Four of Swords. I think they’re having a nice nap!)

I think the Four of Cups is just sitting under a tree, being all emo. But yeah, for the most part, the card all are about doing.

That’s true. The Fours sure have a vibe. Swords is sleeping, Cups is chilling, Pentacles is playing Scrouge, and Wands is enjoying a wild party. It’s an interesting dynamic!

Maybe it’s like a progression. You go to the party with the Four of Wands, get sad and drunk with the Four of Cups, take a nap with the Four of Swords, and then say you’ll never buy alcohol again and be all hung over with the Four of Pentacles.
