I listened to a very fascinating podcast on the Salem Witch Trials called Unobscured (it’s season two that talks about the trials – @starborn you’d probably like this podcast. It’s by the same creator as that show you talked about, Lore.)
The Salem Witch Trials were about everything except witchcraft, ironically. I mean yeah, the people were accused of witchcraft, but it seems to be that the trials were more about political gain, social issues, and powerful women (although men were also accused).
If you think about it, things like this have been going on since humanity began (probably) - there will always be people out there who do unscrupulous things for personal or political gain, no matter who they have to step on to get there. It’s important to watch out for this kind of thing and lead by example, but I don’t think things like this will ever stop.
You guys have such amazing places to visit. My daughter goes to America this weekend, Atlanta then Oklahoma (Oklahomas where my dad lives). She’s so excited.
Put pictures of Salem up. I’d love to see it please.
