Sachet for Loss of a Loved One/Grief/Mourning

I want to make a sachet for my other half who lost a sister about 4yrs ago, few months before we met. I have a cpl questions.
1.) Do a black and white candle go good for mourning? I’m thinking black for mourning/grief/loss and white for healing/blessings/peace, and both for protection as well as balancing energies.
2.) Is there a day or lunar phase better for casting this type of spell?
That’s all I can think of for now lol

I think the black and white candles are perfect for those intentions It really fits with the color magic, but it also fits because those are the correspondences and thoughts you associate with those colors and this is a very personal spell.

The lunar phase I would do this under would be either the full moon or the new moon since it covers both releasing, grief, and healing. However, I would say you should do this working during any phase that you feel called to.

With a multifaceted spell like this, I wholeheartedly agree that you could use the energy from any of the moon phases. Megan has great suggestions about the full and new moon, and if I can add to that- a waning moon could help to decrease feelings of sadness, loss, and grief, while a waxing moon could boost positive emotions, reassurance, and peace.

In this particular case, I really think any of the moon phases could aid and enhance your spellwork. Just remember to focus on the moon in tune with the intention you are hoping to tie it to (i.e, call on or acknowledge a waning moon when decreasing grief, or a waxing moon when hoping for an increase in happiness and relief, etc.) during the spell.

I do know of a sachet spell that I had used when my birth mother passed away in Aug '21 & then for the loss of my pupper in June '22… I will post the link to the spell sachet, it has the author’s story & the spell. Feel free to tweak it if you should need to, it helped me. I kept it by my bed & carried it with me for a little bit. I did add charms to it that represented the loss too.
