Self Care Month Join in the practice

Yesterday (August 13) , for self care I finished moving bedrooms. We think that having my bedroom in the basement is what was making me so sick all the time for the last year. So my boyfriend and I switched bedrooms. Yesterday I got my altar set up in its new home and got all my witchy stuff in there. My new mattress will be here Friday and my new bed frame will be here before the end of next week. I’m sleeping temporarily in one of our spare bedrooms. Excited to get to sleep in my new room!

Ohh how exciting a new mattress and bed frame it’s gonna be like a brand new room that’s so cool I’m so happy for you and nobody deserves it more than you. You are one of the sweetest most protective and caring witches I’ve ever known and I’m lucky to have a friend like you. :people_hugging::rainbow_heart: :witch_pentacle:

I took it slow this morning as an act of self-care and sat on my couch with my coffee reading a book

Today, when I got home from work, I had time to read my mail and one particular letter made me cry tears of joy and I knew it was Bastet’s doing so I spent the rest of the day expressing my gratitude to Her as well as burning lots of incense for Her and offering Her honey, perfume, and a joyous song~! I noticed that the smoke from the incense started moving towards me and following me, which was a beautiful sign to me because when smoke from incense does that, it means someone loves you and is thinking of you and since I was thinking about Bastet all day, it was Her telling me She loves me and She’s happy She could help me during my loved ones’ and I’s time of need. I feel so very blessed and cared for today. Blessed Be :pink_heart: :heartpulse: :pink_heart:

For me the self care of the day was that I finally went exercising at the sea :dolphin:

Extremely late to join this but I have been trying this too even if it’s just a few minutes of meditating.
•Thursday, Aug 15- meditated in the morning & spent time at lunch grounding because I had the worst sensation of wrongness.
•Friday, Aug 16- took a mental health day from work and literally did nothing except  and read a little about self care. Used lavender & chamomile in our bedroom diffuser.
•Saturday, Aug 17- meditated with my kiddos & let my husband pick the essential oil blend before bed. I think he picked a premade blend for either sleep or sinus.
•Sunday, Aug 18- had TWO cups of :coffee: with my intentions stirred into them, and decluttered the living room in preparation for my upcoming spinal fusion. I can’t function when there is clutter. Put up my new Gaia statue on my end table in the living room (which I’m slowly turning into a secret altar), and lit a new :candle: that I purchased that smells heavenly.

You’re not late at all! :white_heart:

The original intent was to celebrate Self Care Month from July 24th - Aug 24rh but I’d love for it to continue beyond then.

It’s a nice reminder to plan in moments for yourself every day and when things get busy and tough, to look back at even the little steps you took to be good to yourself.

Reading yours, I’m actually really inspired. How you manage to get so much self-care into your day amazes me. Or maybe I need to re-frame how I think of some of my activities!

This weekend has been wonderfully busy for self care!
8/15 sat outside in a car in the heat with a friend just talking. Both of us had Cabin Fever, so it felt good.
8/16 Changed sheets, did laundry, put down bug dust (diatomacious earth), filled out forms for government assistance, cleaned the bathroom. Yes, these are self care because I haven’t been able to do them in a long time.
8/17 The day stretched like a cat! First time in five years! Swept the floors. Played computer games just enough to see if I like them and clean out my computer.
8/18 My system emptied itself out very well. Relaxed with computer updates and cleaning.
8/19 Exhausted. I’ll take a break, knowing I got so much done over the last few days.

I’ve found if I cluster self-care things with things I need to do anyway, it makes it easier to remember and do them. Meditate right when I wake up using Balance app, or when I shower or have my first coffee of the day. Do a walking meditation while I walk the dogs at work, plus that counts as exercise too. Do breathe work while driving or washing dishes.

Plus I’ve found the two best times of day for me to fit in me time are first thing in the morning (so long as my SO isn’t working from home ) and the hour before bed.

Sometimes I get almost none of it done, but that’s ok. I try to remember Something is better than nothing. And there’s always tomorrow. :pink_heart:

You’re all so organised. I’m impressed
My self care today, chaos style.
Made coffee for Loki and tea for me.
Lit his candles.
Drew in white light and :algiz: over me for the day.
Went to work.
Finished laundry, tidied, cooked etc
Sat and watched Clarkson Farm with family and laughed till my sides hurt.
Will do my heathen prayers before bed.

I suppose that’s self care for a chaos witch, and tomorrows will be totally different.

All I was able to do today is rest, since I’ve been feeling under the weather since this morning dealing with headaches. I’m happy that I was able to keep up with my daily offerings to my dear Goddesses regardless :pink_heart: :cherry_blossom: :cherry_blossom:
