I’m new to Spells8 or any other social media platform. Los Angeles is home for us about 60% of our time while Montana is ours the rest of the year—even during the frigid winters. I credit my husband’s influence with his vast knowledge and appreciation of nature and his understanding of Native American culture, rituals and spirituality which paved the way for me to pursue a higher level spiritual development because I needed answers and a sense of control over my spiritual being. At first my husband gave me his copy of the “Blue Book” of witchcraft—fascinating read: I wanted more! Now, I read all that I have time for and take “baby steps” in getting the spells right: “What? Wait, what’s the next step?”
Sabbats and Esbats are my favorite part of the Craft. My first Sabbat, Samhain, we hosted a Silent Supper for 6 of our departed family. The research and preparation gave my husband and me just a glimpse at how powerful our spirituality is but only with Spells8 guidance. Since then, we have celebrated all Sabbats and Esbats and are looking forward to Ostara and the Worm Full Moon. Thank you for the new March calendar format—what a time saver. I love it!
Hello @karen18,
Welcome to the forum! I’m Bry, one of the moderators and an Eclectic Witch. Thank you for sharing your introduction, it’s very nice to meet you
I’m so happy you like the calendar and that you’ve been enjoying your Sabbat and Esbat celebrations! It sounds like you had a very meaningful Silent Supper at Samhain. With Ostara and this week’s full moon on the way, I hope you have a lovely time!
I noticed this topic was labeled with a different name than your username - would you perhaps like to change it? If so, it’s easy to do! Here is the How to Change Your Name Guide. If you have any difficulties or would like some help, just say the word - I or another Mod would be happy to make the switch for you.
Make yourself at home here @karen18 - blessed be!
Hi, @karen18! I’m Amethyst from Southern West Virginia. Welcome to the forum!
It’s great that you’re here! I hope that you’re able to share some of your knowledge from your hubby. I’ve always been interested in Native American folklore like the tale of how Raven stole the Sun and other stories like that. And Montana has always sounded like it has beautiful scenery! You’re a very lucky person!
Anyhow, I hope to get to know you soon! Welcome to the group!

My name is Kat, and I’ve been practicing the craft for over 30 years. My practice is rooted in a blend of nature magick, green magick, and elements of hedgecraft. I work closely with the natural world, drawing inspiration from plant spirits, animal spirits, and liminal spaces. My interests include herbalism, gardening, and divinatory practices like tarot, throwing bones, and Lenormand.
