Skies: Beautiful Blue, Perfect Pink, Nostalgic Night, & Everything in Between (Part 2)

Here is something a little different for you lovelies! I shot these pictures using infrared film, at a beautiful state park in Canada. The weather was changing very quickly and there was a big thunderhead moving in. Infrared film makes normal blue skies look black, and clouds look super white. Everything else just comes out, well, maybe a little surreal.

I caught these people walking their dog before the storm hit! Infrared records the lightwave frequency differently than regular film, so this shot shows a sunbeam coming through the air and hitting that log in the bottom right.

The wind was starting to blow a lot of debris onto the beach.

Infrared film also makes the trees (all green foliage) turn white. I took this while we were driving into the park.

I know they look kinda strange, but I hope you like them! I shoot mostly B&W film.

We’ve had lots of great clouds lately. :cloud: Extra credit if you can spot the red-shouldered hawk in the sky in the first photo!

But there wasn’t a cloud in the sky this morning.

I see him! Just a spec on my tiny screen, but I see him!

Beautiful pictures! Thank you for sharing them! Unfortunately, I didn’t earn the extra credit. Can’t find him anywhere.

He’s tough to see - almost dead center of the picture. He was way up there soaring the thermals and calling.

Storms coming and going the past 2 days makes for some neat clouds! :cloud:

Awesome, huge clouds - beautiful!

I do see the hawk - I thought at first he was a speck of dirt on my screen, but he kept moving with my mouse.

How beautiful! You are so lucky to live in such a lovely area.. Somewhere like that is where my heart and soul yearn to be, but sadly I live in suburbia.

Thank you  I adore when the lake is still enough to reflect the clouds or sky perfectly.

Thank you for the kind compliment

Actually, I do too! Our city has 5 interlocking man-made lakes for recreation and city drinking water. We live with a view of one out back. 1/4 mile away is a busy bypass loop. :motorway: I am lucky and grateful to have the woods within easy walking distance as well as a shopping center and gas station one mile away.

The moon shot was luck. My phone is terrible at taking night photos let alone trying to get the moon but this was one of the best ones I’ve taken! :crescent_moon:
