Hello,
I’m familiar with the craft. I’ve not exactly come out of the closet, some of the people in my everyday life are aware, but not all. I am lucky, my significant other is supportive and understanding, but not interested in practicing the craft. My mother was a witch and introduced it to me at a young age. I’ve always come back to it, but not for long. Just enough to dabble again. In short, I’m not exactly new, but not exactly experienced either. I have cast some spells successfully and have been told I am an old soul.

“Coming out of the closet is a choice of your making.”
You can beat your chest and shout “I’m a Witch!”
or you can just dabble until you feel comfortable enough in your strength to come out. There are no set rules about becoming, practicing, and or coming out.
One of the most wonderful things about this site and its members? Is acceptance and understanding. No one is mean or condescending.
No bullying is allowed, nor is someone pushing their beliefs on anyone else.
The only set rule here is to be nice. Other than that check the guidelines on the Forum.

I always love hearing from people who learn witchcraft from their family. I didn’t have that experience so it’s fascinating to me how people learn, what they were taught, and where their path took them.

What kind of magic did your Mother go into if you don’t mind me asking? I’m always interested in what family witches learn.

Congrats on your successful spells- may I ask if there are any particular areas in the Craft that are your favorites (tarot, green magick, astrology, etc)? Whatever you enjoy most, I’m sure you’ll find plenty of like-minded coven members here who share your interests! Please make yourself at home

Yes, my spouse is supportive and I am definitely lucky. 
I consider myself an astrology, tarot, and fire witch, and also like my crystals. I’m definitely not a green witch, try as I might, I do not have a green thumb. I got into astrology young. My grandfather was in the Coast Guard and lived out of the city. We would spend weeks with my grandparents during summers and he’d show me the stars. With my mother’s influence, I started with tarot and protection spells. From there, it grew into crystals, fire, and other spells, things that interested me.
I don’t think I’ve ever given that much thought before. Thank you for asking.

It sounds like many of your talents were nurtured with care by your loved ones- now every time you look to the stars or use your tarot or spells, it’s an act of treasuring your bond with them
