What kind of pests are you looking to eliminate?

Hi @scarlet!

Seconding Mystique - it will help to know what kind of pests are involved. Are they bugs or rodents, or is it a spiritual invasion?

If you’re dealing with unwanted spirits, there is a spell in the Banishing Spells Collection that I would recommend:

Regardless of what you are trying to remove, now is a great time to do so - the moon for the next two weeks or is a Waning Moon, ideal for removal and banishment. :waning_gibbous_moon:

Whatever spells you are looking into, I recommend drawing on the power of the moon! If you’re not sure how, there are tips in the Moon Magick Guide.

Blessed be :sparkles:

Indoor pests! Oh my days, I live in the countryside, we get everything here (including spirits, but they can stay ). We get moles, wasps, plagues of ladybirds(I like those, makes the front of the house look pretty with all the different colours), ants, armies of ants, gnats, mice, rats, bats (I like those too), hornets, spiders, nests of spiders although me thinks that’s Loki :imp::rofl:. Depending on the pests, I have battle tactics for them all, though not all are nice, it’s war sometimes between me and the wildlife depending. The rat stays outside, so he stays, mice nope, they don’t stay, wasps we have an agreement, I give them the apple tree in the front garden and they give me the one in back-so far so good. Mole, nope goes as do the ants though they’re blighters to get rid off. Spiders I give up, that’s Loki’s doing, can’t win against a god :person_shrugging: Love to know what you’re up against. :green_heart::grin:

I’m dealing with gnats in my planter at the moment. I let the planter go dry for a full year while the birds built a nest in it. All that time, there were no bugs. When Adam left, Albus wasn’t all that interested in the nest anymore, so I took it down and planted bird seed in it. Now, every time I water it, I get a plague if gnats. You’d think they would have died with no food over the year, but they’re actually worse!

I’ll look into that- bird safety comes first. At least if he snaps at one right now, I know all he’s getting is protein.

I provided the address in case you didn’t want to click on the link.

My is and ran a wine store and he used the cone method using a disposable water bottle, vinegar in the bottom and parchment paper for the cone/ funnel.
Worked great.

However in the attached article they use a mason jar with holes in the lid, may be more secure with a bird flying around.

Thank you, dear! I have a funnel left over from a set I bought at Dollar Tree before they shut down, and I hang onto drink bottles for reuse. This will work!

If you will put hedge apples in corners and in closets that keeps a lot of pests from coming in. But you got to make sure you remember where you put them so you don’t have rotted hedge apples later

Peppermint is a good deterrent for ants. I was having problems with ants and just sprinkled peppermint in the door ways, under the counters in the kitchen and on the backs of the counters. Work’s amazingly well!

Earwigs like potatoes. Make sure your starchy foods (noodles, bread, donuts, cake, crackers, rice, potatoes, chips, corn) are wrapped in plastic or refrigerated to help cut down on drawing them in. Refridgerating potatoes makes them get soft faster, so keep them in a shed or free standing garage rather than in the house if you want them to last longer.

Also, do you have firewood around? Earwigs like wood as their home. When they lay their eggs, the larvae eat the wood. Keep firewood as far as possible from the house while it cures. Try not to keep much firewood in the house: bring in only what you plan to burn right away.

Yeah. Been there, done that. They look scarier than they really are, though.

They still freak me out

I started having problems when I read the story of the visitor to India who got jealous and hired someone to put an earwig into his host’s ear in hopes of dating the host’s wife. The hireling thankfully mistook the rooms, but no one should ever go through such a thing!

My boyfriend finds it hilarious that I have no issues with bugs or spiders or snakes. I pick them up with no problem. But scream and freak out over chipmunks in the house.:rofl::rofl:.
