I have been stocking up on crystals, dried herbs and flowers. I was reviewing nice apothecary cabinets but am already overflowing the small one I bought. I thought maybe I would stack several of these together in a space.
When I was at my height of crystal collecting, I had a foot locker full of rocks! We had to move from my childhood home and couldn’t take it with us, so I had to dump them all as part of the border around the circular garden in the back yard.
My herb collections were kept in zipper bags to prevent mold. I then labeled each bag on the inside of the bag and kept the bags in a tin. It wasn’t well organized, but I always seemed to be able to find what I needed. shrug
In my current apartment, I attempted putting up shelves. Every time I turned on a light on the other side of the wall, bottles would fall off and spill. I got tired of that quickly.
No solutions, here, but maybe red flags will help someone not make the same mistakes?
That’s a really nice way to organize your things! I’ll admit that most of my crystals stay in a bowl on my dresser - I don’t have enough to warrant extra storage. My herbs all stay in my kitchen because I use most of them for cooking, too. I don’t have any sort of special storage for any of my things.
I really like that storage piece with the drawers!
My witchy space is mostly well, more than 95% in my bedroom. So my husband has helped me with moving, hanging, & rearranging things. I use shelving, display cases, drawers, pegs, boxes or reusable shopping bags in my closet or under my bed, the tops of my nightstands & vanity dresser, storage containers that I used to use for other things & have now started using for things practice related. I do have some things, mostly in my kitchen but it’s things that can be used or are mainly used in that space. Mugs, cups, teas, some spices or herbs.
As far as crystals, I have so many that those are in bowls, shells, on shelving of some kind whether shelves or a printer’s box that I have hanging on my wall, on the top of my dresser, jewelry, & anything overflow or that I am not using or carrying with me, those are in mesh bags with cards containing the names & their information on them stored in a box with pieces of selenite throughout the box under my bed.
We are only putting our large crystals in them, all the small and chips we use for spell jars, bags and charms are in a train case just for those with jars, bags, charms candles etc.
And Train cases (I love train cases!) for just about everything else except our apothecary cabinet.
Wow your link to the Witch’s Collection challenge was amazing and showed so many great ideas and options for me. Really wonderful and thank you so much for sharing!
