Awesome August All,

Saturday August 1-Int’l Elder Day - How can I thank the elders in my life?

completion

This is a weird question. The last elder in my life passed July 5th.
If I could speak to my family members who meant the most to me, I would tell them this.

The time that I had spent with them and the conversations have helped me to become a complete person. They have given me such strength of character! Thank-you, Grandmother Abbey, Grandpapa, Momo, and Aunt Billie…Love y’all so much.

Along the heading line at the top right of the reply page, there are the x, the -, and three parallel lines. Press the three parallels to make a second heading line with a circled +, a smiley face, quotes, a chain link, etc. press the circled +. Under that menu are hide details, blur spoiler, etc. Hide details is the one which creates the drop-down menu.

Okay, let’s see if I can keep up with something this month… Instead of using my tarot deck, I’m going to use my Digital Ogham Cards. I actually recently added a bare-bones ogham card generator to my website if anyone wants to use it. It’ll be better eventually  but I don’t have too much time for it right now.

Ogham Image Generator - 'Round the Cauldron

Dair - Oak

Keywords: liminality, Brighid, Divinity, strength, justice, truth, mastery, perfection, practice/apprenticeship, valuable, stability, sacred places

Living my truth and staying connected to what matters is the best way to thank my elders. All they have ever wanted for me is to be myself, whoever that is, and live my life in a way that makes me happy :pink_heart:

Sensational Saturday Georgia,

Wow, this looks a little complicated (sorry after my TBI, my brain doesn’t quite make connections like before). I’m gonna write it down, then play with it. Hopefully, it will only take me a day. Unfortunately, I may be able to get it now, but in 3 days, forget how I did it. I’ll keep my notes for a while, until it becomes muscle memory. This is exactly why I write my own spells in short rhyming meter. So much easier to remember. I am trying to work on spells/chants in song form to tunes that almost all of us know, at least here in the US…like, Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star…Or maybe a Jingle Bells tune for a Yule ritual…just in the development stages in my mind.

Thank-you Georgia, I will have to play with it.

6 of Wands -

I can thank my elders for my success, confidence and drive - all of which helped me immensely. HOW I do that is by maintaining and using what I have learned from them.

Yay for Ogham!

I have a deck that I made. I am motivated to break it out and use it a bit more.

Nice read!

Actually, that isn’t a real problem. The original way it was done was by posting images of the questions and then listing questions in text drop downs.. Doing it your way is just as efficient (probably more so). Keep on doing what is comfortable!

Dan, that is exactly what I saw in the cards, too.

Day 1: Int’l Elder Day - How can I thank the elders in my life?

Moonjube Tarot Deck-Six of Cups

I can go back to my childhood and remember. Talk about the good days with one of my elders. Ask them about theirs. Spend time. A lot of times we forget to ask our elders some of the most important questions. One being about their youth. Who they were? What they did? How it impacted who they are today? This tarot question made me tear up. Then I pull this card. Oh man. My grandma passed a year ago. And this was all we did. I looooved hearing about her life. But she also loved hearing about mine. She was one hard core catholic abuela…but she never gave me a hard time about my beliefs because they were…well mine (as she would say). Lol. I miss that woman. She was amazing.

Day 2: Friendship Day - Which family member do I need to make a better connection with?

I pulled the Five of Wands.

This instantly made me think of my dad. Because we are always “at war” over nothing. Lol. Our beliefs. Our differences. My life vs his life. Why he can’t see why I am sooo different from my siblings?
This card reminds me how we fight. We fight without hitting hard. Or making contact. Most of the time we cause chaos for one another. It’s definitely time we made strides to become actual friends.

The Five of Coins (Five of Pentacles) is a tough card - it signifies loss, hard ship, isolation, etc. I love the picture on the card, though. It isn’t RWS but it drives my interpretation anyway.

The family member is obvious to me - whether I should reach out or just move on is where I am. The person borrowed a chunk of money long ago and then didn’t speak to me for five years. I’m thinking I need to sit tight and accept it whether the person opens a conversation - or just keeps ghosting.

Never let relatives borrow money… unless you just want to say it is a gift. That makes it much easier… we gave our daughter and her husband enough money for a house down payment - quite a while ago. We didn’t count it as a loan. Imagine our surprise when they paid us back.

Sensational Sunday Siblings,

Tarot today - Which family member do I need to make a better connection with?

Visionary, sees the Big Picture, career focused

This was easy. My son. We have been becoming closer since we have been working on this project. He has a vision and sees a big picture, and he is using this as a stepping point in his life. So, this is definitely my boy!
