Wow! This is so cool.
I’m so distracted by how beautiful her tattoos of the moth and moon are.

Thanks for the interview, I hadn’t heard of her before. The only Pagan I know of openly serving is Kirk White who is a state representative in the Vermont legislature. There is also an openly Pagan presence in the Democratic Party that can be found over at PaganKos group on Daily Kos if anyone is looking for a place for political discussions with fellow Pagans.
Woohooo!!! Thank you, Megan!
I have to admit I try to avoid political discussions whenever possible (my anxiety and stress levels are not fans of political debates ), but it’s nice to know there is a space out there for discussing pagan-related political matters! Thank you for sharing the link to the group page, Peter
Ahhh… politics, the entertainment division for the military industrial complex. I believe it was Zappa that said that.
@Amethyst – I hope you enjoyed the discussion if you got a chance to watch!
@starborn – I know, right?! They’re beautiful! She’s spoken about the meaning behind her tattoos on TikTok before. I can’t remember what they mean specifically, but they do tie back to her beliefs.
@peter3 – You’re very welcome, Peter! I honestly didn’t know there were other open Pagans in the government, so thank you for that! I’ll take a look at your link for Daily Kos - thank you!
@BryWisteria – Absolutely, Bry!
@Shadeweaver – I’ve never heard that
I keep forgetting to watch! I need to put a timer on that sucker or something, I remember when I don’t have the time. I’ll watch it though, promise!
I totally get it I’ve got so many people I’m subscribed to on YouTube that I can’t keep up with their videos. No worries and no rush!
The spectacle of party politics, sure. They’re often bread and circuses and a long line of unfulfilled promises. Especially from what I’ve seen of US media. But there’s nothing inherently messed up about the process of group decision-making. It’s necessary regardless of what system we live under. Heck, we even have it here. The forum has rules, guidelines, and structure.
I love that we have some representation though, because totally dismissing politics can be dangerous. I think it was Martin Luther King who said, “Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.” And he was right.
Hopefully tomorrow I’ll get to it. I forgot again today.
So exciting!! I’ve been waiting for this! I can’t listen right now, but maybe after I get the littles off to bed! I have no doubt that you did an amazing job!
Aww, thank you, Ailey! I hope you enjoy the interview!
@MeganB Goodness Gracious lovey! This was fantastic! I am so very proud of you! Excellent work!
And now… I feel like I need to go learn about running for office because I did not know that you had to pay to be put on a ballot or get signatures either! Ugh!
I’m very excited to watch this process now!
Ohhh thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed the interview and learned about some of the processes, too – I learned, too! Like…it’s such an obstacle in the way of people running for office that you have to pay to be on a ballot in some states!
Right? That’s absolutely ridiculous in my brain… And thanks for asking my reading quesion! I loved that she was honest about not knowing about the Science of Reading, but I bet she looks it up… and that’s half the battle right there! And, should she ever like to chat about it, I can be available any time!
Of course! I love how honest she is about everything, too - and because of her, a lot of people now know just how little (and how much!) the US President can actually do. Hopefully, she does look it up and learns more about it. I’ll pass along your information if you’d like!
@MeganB I read the transcript of the interview. Thanks for providing that. A lot of info to take in. Then I went out and looked at other online sources to see what else I could find. I don’t think I would have known about this had you not held the interview and shared it here. Very cool.
I’m happy to provide the transcript! Not everyone has the time (or space or attention or whatever lol) to listen to the interview or watch the video. I’m glad you enjoyed the discussion and found a new candidate to learn about!
I would love for you to pass it along! I’ll send you a message with all my details!
Awesome!
