🕖 Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE ~ Catch-Up!

I’m trying to keep up with, well, life in general right now  but also catching up on some challenges will help me with my to do list

Challenge Entry #2:

Of Hearth and Home

I have my sacred space, which doubles as our bedroom, but since I have found my footing where my beliefs lie, some things have spilled over to my home. From how I use things around my home to how I make things around my house, whether it’s food or not, I have more plant and herb knowledge than before, and I use more natural approaches to different things for self-care, personal care, and connections.

Right now, I have a besom by my back door; I have to add some cinnamon essential oil to it, though. It has lost its scent since I originally got it. I have a perpetual calendar on my wall that is a lovely wooden one with a lotus floral pattern on it. I drink different teas to help with different things. I will drink it because I like it or based on the ingredients, with the intention of drinking that specific tea, especially when I have a cold. I have also used more natural things for pain and inflammation when I can, too. Journaling and meditation are so beneficial, as well as breath work. I am glad that I have learned the different techniques, and they work for me. There is so much around my home and myself that has changed over the last 5 years that it’s hard to pinpoint certain things.

I have learned about journeying, crystals and energy, and my empathic tendencies and abilities. I have learned how to accept the light with the dark and even the gray. I’m not perfect, but my practice is ideal for me. Over time, I have learned so much about my family history and beliefs. I am learning how to connect with my area, my yard, my neighborhood, and the things around me that are there each day. I take the time to notice the changes in my yard and area, whether in my neighborhood, along the coastline, or in another location. Working with what is local to me and easily obtainable, I also like to make things from scratch, but now, there is more meaning in what I do and how I do it. I even make up oils, sprays, perfumes, and things to use around my home, as well as natural ways to clean and refresh things.

I plan on bringing some crafting items upstairs for autumn through winter. I have a severe itch to create things and work some magic. I have learned so much over a period where it was more of a learning curve than a routine practice. I’m working on different things but have too many thoughts in my head about how to go about them and all of the what and where things will or should go or be done

Challenge Entry #3:

:skull: Spooky Season Spellwork

This year Samhain went a bit differently than anything in the last 25 years. There were no children to watch in a Harvest Parade or to get fed & dressed for walking the neighborhood in hopes of treats & not tricks.

I have been having some mobility things so my husband and I decided that we were going to stay in with each other.

Since it was just us and Samhain, my husband found us something to watch. He said that I’d really like it, or he thought I wpukd anyway. So we watched

Witches: The Truth Behind the Trials
It’s a docu-series type of show. Each episode is about the wotch trials in a different area, all kind of around the same time. They start with Salem, Massachusetts and then also cover England, Germany, Sweden, Scotland, Ireland, & another place. We watched the entire series.

They were full of good information and well done. The experts were great too, especially explaining that they were mostly accused and not witches; but why during those times the accused were believed to be witches which could be based on “spectral evidence” alone. Spectral evidence was or is evidence that cant be proven or disproven. So anyone could say that they saw or heard anything because you can’t prove they did or didn’t, which sent many to at least the gallows.

It was definitely a much needed day of rest with a bonus of spending time with my hisband and learning about Witch History.

Challenge Entry 3
Wholesome Healers

I was heading in from getting some groceries, this evening, when I heard a cry for help. I knocked on the door. The resident had fallen. I went in my place for my phone and called 911, returning to his door to ask questions the operator wanted to know.

Maintenance passed and went off to get a key. I then sat in the doorway and comforted the man until paramedics arrived.

This may not seem like much of a Magickal big deal, but he admitted he’d been on the floor a couple hours and was beginning to wonder if anyone would find him. If I hadn’t been out, I never would have heard him.

I kept him talking. When neighbors passed, I asked them to pray for him. Anything to pass the time, anything to provide some modicum of comfort and rest.

When something surprising like this happens, the biggest issue isn’t just the pain, but the terror of finding yourself alone and unable to get help. Just having someone there to pass time, knowing you’re not alone is the biggest calming anyone can offer.
