For my entry, I did a post on Lugh. He’s a new deity I’m working with so this challenge was a great way for me to learn more about him.

Plus, it gave me a distraction to focus on instead of the power outage here in Houston.

I am not very familiar with Celtic tradition or anything involving Celts. But for this challenge I will look into Celtic faeries and learn which ones rule over what.

Challenge Entry - Celtic Magick

This is a shorter version of a long story but don’t be fooled it’s not all that short

A couple of years ago, I learned about Ogham and that ogham staves can be used for divination. I made my first set for a challenge 🗣 Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - Multilingual Magick - #55 by Artemisia and used them for another 🎲 Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - Divining Differently - #4 by Artemisia.

Then I got the brilliant idea to make my own set of staves with different types of local trees and shrubs. Ogham preoccupation.... I mean, project! :)

And then for close to 2 years, they sat in my closet. On one hand, it gave them time to dry properly  and it gave me time to research which local trees I could use for the ones that aren’t available in North Carolina as the associated trees (which is a very interesting subject and will be a post for another time since I don’t have time tonight!)

Earlier this week I whittled the bark from 3 staves from each of the 25 letters (75 total). The weekend was crazy as usual so it wasn’t until Monday afternoon that I had time to work on the wood burning. Since it was my first-time wood burning, I opted to be realistic (and to give myself grace) I only finished 2 of the 5 aicmí

For my set, the wood are:

Beith is Birch
Luis is Redbud
Fern is Sycamore
Sail is Willow
Nin is Pignut Hickory

hUath is Dogwood
Dair is Oak
Tinne is Holly
Coll is Black Walnut
Ceirt is Apple

They aren’t perfect but I’m excited to be making progress towards finally having a complete set to use (as well as several extra sets!!)

Clear aura quartz for clarity

Also drew the rune for birch on a piece of paper and tied with red string and stated. May this bag give me portection, play, inspiration, fun, play and clarity this week.
I then drew the three weavers spread

This is what I got:

I will make another post tomorrow morning with the explanations in a linked thread tomorrow morning. I am burning :fire: the midnight oil and need to go to bed. I can’t wait to read everyone else’s posts.

Challenge entry 2

Oh I was doing some research and forgot about the Celtic warrior queen Boudicca.

She was a force not to be messed with that’s for sure.

Boudicca is known for being a warrior queen of the Iceni people , who lived in what is now East Anglia, England. In 60–61 CE she led the Iceni and other peoples in a revolt against Roman rule.

Loved reading about her she was a true warrior.

The truth is that apart from what I know from the wheel of the year and bits of info from here and there, Celtic magic and tradition is not something I am familiar with. For that reason i tried to find out about the celts in general and their magic
