šŸ«§ Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - Cleansing in the Craft

Crystal59,
Whatā€™s the smell like for the vesta powder?

Blockquote

I think youā€™re practice is very much like mines. Once in a while I like to incorporate other smudge sticks like, dragons :dragon: blood, white sage, blue sage, cedar wood :wood:, and Palo Santo.
I like to do a kernips ritual. I use a big black bowl with obsidian in it and burn :fire: thyme drop it in the the bowl of water. It then turns into sacred water when I drop the thyme in the bowl after I burn the thyme! I speak out loud a chant or a a prayer that will banish all the profane. I learned this ritual from Cyndi Brannen.

Selenite is very easy to use and I didnā€™t know it was satin spar. Thank you for your lovely info cristina.

Thank you Amethyst for your support lovely meditation :woman_in_lotus_position: I think I will try as many meditations daily I can get in. Once in the morning, even in the middle of the day and at night.

I recently came into possession of several small bottles of assorted crystal chips. With all thatā€™s going on, Iā€™m cleansing them and activating them, one per day, and Iā€™m going to take a chip from each bottle and put it into a tiny empty pendant I found, that I can wear or carry round in my pocket.
Iā€™m doing the cleansing for the entire bottle and contents by spritzing some smokeless cleansing spray into the air and waving the bottle through it. Then Iā€™m doing the activation meditation listed on Spells8 for each of them. I have 3 activated now, rose quartz for friendship and self love, amethyst for luck (I definitely need as much as I can get), and I activated aventurine most recently for prosperity. I plan to also activate clear quartz for clarity and tigerā€™s eye for balance.

Vesta powder is potassium nitrate so thatā€™s what it smells like but itā€™s kinda hard to describe not earthy like palo santo or strong like sage it dissipates pretty quickly and when you light it up it produces a large spark and quick puff of smoke itā€™s a manifestation and spell accelerator tool also known as chasing powder used to banish spirits, entities and negative energy from a space. If your interested in trying this powerful ingredient please be careful  only use small amounts and wear gloves because it can burn the skin. :sparkles::last_quarter_moon::waning_gibbous_moon:

I did this challenge today, though I donā€™t have any photos to share.

Here lately, I have been feeling the stirrings of Spring in my gut. I know, that sounds a bit strange, but itā€™s almost this feeling of homesickness? I havenā€™t been able to shake it for the last week, and itā€™s weird because Iā€™m at home ā€“ Iā€™m not traveling or anything.

Anyway, I decided to bring my Brigid things into my office rather than my bedroom. This is the space where I need her most, and this is the space where I call on her often. So, I cleansed an area of the office as well as some things to go on her shelf, set up the space, and lit a brand new candle that I got for her today

Weekly Witchy Challenge Entry:

Hello Everyone!

I have been cleansing in various ways during the week. Everyday I make sure to do a daily cleanse of myself, my journal, candles, crystals, and space. I like to cleanse my house as well. This also has put me in the mood to Spring Clean, which is much needed in my house right now. I feel more motivated and connected when I light my candle of the day, grab my crystals, meditate, and write in my journal after I cleanse things. It helps me feel so refreshed. I have used my favorite incense or some floral sage that my step-daughter got me for Christmas.

I also cleansed my dogs. I feel like I forget a lot about their energy and I made sure that they had some cleansing. They looked at me like I was crazy, but they accept their mom for who she is LOL.

I made sure I put my crystals under the moonlight to cleanse them. I love working with the Moon, I do it any chance I get. Iā€™ve been trying to get better with a daily routine. I need my ā€œwitchy routineā€ to be DAILY and not set aside because other things get in my way. Iā€™ve decided that itā€™s NOT going to happen anymore and Iā€™ve put my foot down in my house lately about my own ME time. Everytime I do get it, itā€™s like we slowly go back to where I donā€™t have it anymore. Not this time! I am sticking to the fact that my self-care is more important than the dishes sometimes when I have three teenagers and a man to help with them. Iā€™m not the only one who lives here. HAHA! So theyā€™ve been respectful of my time and now know not to mess with Mom lately!

I hope everyone had an awesome week working with cleansing and whatever ways and things you did. I enjoy reading them and what you all do. Iā€™m still so new to this but I do learn things daily. I feel like I learn more from the forum than lessons sometimes because learning from others is so intriguing. So I love the balance of learning and the fun of the forum getting to read about everyoneā€™s unique witchcraft!

Blessed Be!

Crystal59 I think I want to try this at home.

  1. I always use my hands when lighting my charcoal. So I want to invest a tool so I wonā€™t burn my hands. So thanks I did not know there was anti flammable gloves :gloves:
  2. I want to banish spirits entities and negative energy too that may be attached somehow. I had a really bad dream and felt controlled by something. This is why I was so enthusiastic about your post. Thank you  for this!

Setting up my altar and trying to figure out daily practices i realised a cleansing thing i am already doing . I wear crystal jewerlly and i have a slab or charging plate of selenite that i use to cleanse and charge tje jewelry i wear. the photo here os different location to where it was 20min ago lol as i had been setting up altar and realised that might just fit into this catagory of cleansing.

Also in order tp set up the new altar i had to clean and cleanse the space i was creating so i could set up the new altar. So without realising it ive managed to do a few cleansing activities and also been using the apple and cinnomon sticks cleaning products around house more since last post so thats cool.

I made cleansing chalk!

This cleansing chalk is designed to cleanse items or a space. It can also be used to draw sigils or other magickal symbols in your spiritual practice.

A great use would be to draw protection sigils/magickal symbols under a welcome mat at your front door. Which is exactly what I used it for.

What youā€™ll need:

Dry and crush the eggshells with a mortar and pestle or drop them into an electric grinder.

When finely ground into a powder add the sage essential oil.

Next, add the dried sage and grind until it becomes a fine powder.

Once completely ground, add the rock salt and crush into a fine powder.

Add the cleansing powder into a bowl (Measure how much you have first).

Now add the same amount of plain white flour to the bowl.

Example: If you have one cup of cleansing powder add 1 cup of flour.

Slowly add water until it becomes a dough-like consistency.

Roll the dough into four long pieces of chalk.

Allow the chalk to air dry completely before use.

Until next time, Live, Love, & Magick!

Iā€™ve been noticing more and more how clearing clutter and cleansing open up my space for positivity to flow. This week I made a Smudging Mist using sage, cedar and lavender essential oils added to moon water. It smells amazing and feels wonderful.

Thank you for the inspiration!

I am continuing to experiment with essential oils and therefore created a cleansing and protection blend that can be put in my diffuser. That means that i can use it before spells/rituals but also at different points when i feel.it is needed during the day.

I looked through my BoS at the oils I have and selected 4 based on their properties and notes. For their cleansing and protection properties, i chose:
Lavender
Lemon
Rosemary
Clary sage

I normally use a 30,50,20 split but as i was not using a base, i divided it to create a 40 60

Based on the capacity of the diffuser, i then calculated how many drops of each would be used.

I then added to my diffuser to enjoy when required.

Blessed be

Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - Cleansing in the Craft -ENTRY

I have not been focused or positive in many parts of my life lately. Too much going on and I feel overwhelmed. This Challenge is right on time. Just researching and reading otherā€™s Challenges has already put me in a better place mentally. I have never ā€œcelebratedā€ or acknowledge the two equinox festivals of Mabon and Ostara. I will be joining in on festivals here in Upstate, New York.

ā€œOf these eight annual Sabbat festivals, four are classed as ā€œlesser,ā€ and four as ā€œgreater.ā€ The two equinox festivals of Mabon and Ostara, together with the two solstice festivals (Midwinter or Yule at the winter solstice, Midsummer or Litha at the summer solstice) comprise the lesser Sabbats. The Wheel of the Year is completed by the four greater Sabbat festivals of Samhain (Summerā€™s End), Candlemas or Imbolc (Brigidā€™s Day), Beltane (May Day), and Lammas or Lughnasadh (First Harvest).ā€

ā¦ Mabon, celebrated on the autumnal equinox (which, in the Northern Hemisphere, is today), is essentially a festival of traditional thanksgiving for the fall harvest, which makes survival possible during the long winter months ahead.
ā¦ Ostara, observed on the vernal or spring equinox (which, in the Southern Hemisphere, is today), is a celebration of the ending of those long cold winter months, honoring the birth and renewal of spring, and hailing the return of fertility to the Earth.

I have always believed that the key to success is ORGANIZATION. This tea recipe is just what ā€œthe doctor orderedā€! As I am rearranging my morning rituals, meditation times and so onā€¦ A cup of Watermelon Tea just might help me get organized.

Watermelon Tea :watermelon:

:watermelon: 4 cups chopped seedless watermelon
:watermelon: 6 cups black tea
:watermelon: 1 cup mint

To Prepare:

:watermelon: Puree watermelon in a food processor or blender with mint
:watermelon: Prepare black tea, let steep for one hour
:watermelon: Add watermelon puree and tea together

According to Willow Wisps aka Nami, Watermelon is an excellent source of vitamins, healthy heart, some cancers along with many other benefits. I have much stress happening in my life and I am afraid it is lowering my resistance making me more sept able to ā€œsicknessā€ and negative energies. This looked interesting. I will make this Watermelon Tea along with a few other potions. Physical benefits of Watermelon Include: It really helps you hydrate. Hence the name, watermelon is very high in water and therefore great for hydrating. It contains lots of Vitamin A and C as well, and has some anti-inflammatory agents and antioxidants. It also has compounds that are said to help maintain a healthy heart and prevent certain cancers. Metaphysical Properties of Watermelon include: Due to itā€™s high concentration of water it is often associated with cleansing and healing, as the water in it can help was the bad energies and illness from your life. The fruit is sacred to the Deities Set and Yemaya. it is also said you should give a watermelon to someone who needs more peace in their life. (Nami, themanicnami.tumblr,13 MAR 2019)

An Easy Magic Recipe by Francisco Huanaco (Spells8,2018) with a chant to cleanse the home from negativity and evil spirits. Cast this spell with salt to attract protection and spiritual healing. This is something I also need to do with my starting my life fresh.

INGREDIENTS
ā¦ Coarse salt (sea salt, Epsom salt, or others)
ā¦ Broom

HOW TO CAST THE SPELL

ā¦ Sweep the floor with a regular broom, so that itā€™s physically clean before doing the spiritual cleanse.
ā¦ Take a handful of coarse salt and place it on the floor.
ā¦ Use the broom to carry the salt and sweep it all over the room, as you repeat the following chant:

ā€œAs I sweep these crystals with my broom, I send all Spirits out of this roomā€ (Francisco Huanaco, 11/7/2018)
ā¦ Finally, collect all the salt and throw it in the toilet bowl, asking that the Water takes away all negativity that has entered the home.

Next: I will conjure some magical energy to assist in helping my odds for success this week in court for my Civil Case.

MAGIC FOR COURT & LEGAL CASES

As I mentioned above, the situations in my life have been coming at me hard and fast. I have a Civil Suit against an individual (I canā€™t say what I really want) but this has me very occupied in a bad way. Although, Spells 8 has helped me mentally and physically, I still have moments that are debilitating. This week should be the last court date and I will get my final results. I already won my first round with an Illegal Lockout. I will preform the following:

ā¦ Burn a brown candle on or after the Full Moon. Dress the candle with some tobacco beforehand. As a sacred herb, tobacco facilitates communication, so it can help break through barriers in complex legal quandaries. (HOUSE OF INTUITION, 2022)

St. Expedite was said to have been a Roman centurion around 300 A.D. and now comes to the aid of those who need swift action. As you can tell from his name, heā€™s all about expediting solutions to your problems. You can obtain a card with his likeness or print one out. Place it beside your brown candle and pray to the Saint, asking him to quickly bring your legal problems to a favorable conclusion. (HOUSE OF INTUITION, 2022)

This Challenge will put me in a good place and focused. I am looking forward to reading all the other Challenges.

Blessed Be to all,
Medea

I first cleansed my face with a nice mask- egg whites, lemon juice, and honey. I whisked the ingredients counter clockwise to banish the impurities in my skin.

Later, I had a coffee bath. Coffee releases negative energy.

I lit a beeswax candle.

I added a cup of brewed coffee counter clockwise while focusing on it releasing and being grateful for that. Add in 1/2 a lemon to also release negative energy (added counter clockwise) and bring in joy and happiness (added clockwise). I also added in salt for purification (counter clockwise) and protection (clockwise). After a nice long soak, I sat in the water as it drained and imagined the negativity being drained down into the earth for transformation. I thanked Mother Earth for that. This is the website where I got the bath recipe. Coffee magick - Green Beanery

Blessed be.

I love this. I always say that the key to success is organization. It is nice to hear how your son helped you! I am fairly new here and I am keeping notes on how my ā€œSister Witchesā€ preform spells or how often they cleanse ā€œeverythingā€ or how they do a cleansing for their self.
Great post. Blessed Be,

Oh gosh! It seems like I really am getting a loooong list of catch up challenges! I couldnā€™t do this one either! :pensive: But thatā€™s only because I came from my practical exam today a little while ago and now I feel really tiredā€¦:worried: I really wanted to do this one! (As obviously I think my tools need cleansing!) But I guess, luckā€™s playing with me currently. :flushed: Anyways, I will not stop trying to take out heart and time for the upcoming challenges or the catch up! :innocent:

Iā€™ve used many tools and oils to cleanse my home, sacred spaces, and body of old and grey energy, but Iā€™m excited to share my most recent cleansing practice: intuitive dancing.

No music. Little or no light. I wake up in the early morning, enter my living room space (primary alter to my right /kitchen and dining space to my left) and let my body move instinctively and interpretively to an internal ā€œ1-2, 1-2-3ā€ rhythm. I swing my body dramatically in wide, open movements and honor my home and body with one of my favorite chants ā€œblessed be this alter, and everything here on, good to all and harming none.ā€

This practice has unique meaning and benefit for me because I have limited left-side mobility after a childhood stroke. Dancing alone pushes out inseurities and busts through limiting thoughts. Wide movements and cleansing visualizations bring about an energetic reset in the home.

It was an accidental discovery for me. Dancing as therapy and for celebration has been long practiced, but dancing to cleanse energy happened when a muse visited my basic morning strech session a few months ago.
