A song has been in my head this week while showering. It isnāt a spell but there is a chorus that I have been repeating as many of my friends and I go through end of the year struggles. Itās from a Christian group but I donāt sing the whole song, just the chorus and I thought I would share that here.
Iām ready for the rain.
Iām ready for the chance to grow.
Itās those showers from above,
that make the rivers flow.
Iām ready for the rain.
Iām going to face the storms head on.
Though they drive me to my knees,
thatās where Iām made strong.
Iām ready for the rain.
Cancer is my sign and water is itās element. All of my life I have been drawn to water and itās power to create life, take life, carve canyons, and wash away dirt. It is used for divination, for rituals in all sorts of faiths, and cleaning things.
Ancient cultures talked of water flowing from heavenly mountains to fill the lands with every good thing. Only the highest gods had such power. When I worship The Lady, I remember water is both chaos and wisdom used to order the chaos. So I routinely pray to her when in the shower.
This week I have remembered the chorus of that song when doing spell work of any kind, but especially when in the shower. So many are struggling so I have performed many spells for them and for me. I even lit a blue candle in the bathroom to run while in the shower. Since it runs for 2.5 hours, and I have a water bill, I will run it again and again during showers throughout December as a reminder of this challenge and the experiences and knowledge all my friends on here shared this past week.
@Amethyst Thatās perfect! I have been taking soaking baths for two days trying to ease the pain in my leg and hip from an old injury. I even did and Egg Cleanse in case it was something else. It was normal.
I like this chantā¦ I can do thatā¦ this morning I was singing to myself an old hymn. Anything to draw on that higher power.
That first one is certainly appropriate for me tooā¦ LOL
Iāve decided that tomorrow is the day for my magically refreshing shower. I could use it after the holiday and weekend following. Today was a particularly tough day, so taking some time for myself tomorrow.
It is a catchy chorus. Iām thankful the coven is open to my āChristianā/Wiccan syncretism.
On a completely random note, and I hope I donāt take us too far off course, youāve got to see my shower head. All of my friends have to deal with my idiosyncrasies.
That was me yesterday. Sunday was terrible, after a decent three days off with family before then. I needed the ritual shower to help me. I hope you get the relaxation and peace you so richly deserve.
BTW, thank you, @BryWisteria, for the excellent timing of this challenge. I imagine many of us needed this with the hectic holiday season.
Doctor visits are icky- but I hope it goes well and they can help your legs, @Amethyst! Wishing you good luck
That is a STUNNING moon bath, @Limeberry! Your tub looks like itās right out of a magazine- it looks so relaxing and beautiful And I love your chant too- thanks so much for sharing!
You are very welcome, @praecog29! It is a good time of year to take respite from the holiday craze. You have such a wonderful song for the shower And omg I love your showerhead- that is so cool! As a fellow water sign () who grew up by the ocean, I share your passion and love for water. May the adaptive, creative, and ever-flowing nature of our element continue to guide and bless you Very well done!
You are so welcome, @Jeannie1- same to you! Have a blessed day
Yogurt, girl! Eat that yogurt! The heavy-duty ones like Greek or Icelandic yogurt are awesome, but hey- even those Danimals Drinkable yogurts are better than no pro-biotics!
Yogurt is the yummiest option imo, but pickled things, kombucha, and apple cider vinegar also give the good-guys a boost!
Sending more blessings your way, @Amethyst- be well!
I take oral pro-biotics and theyāve got me on a triple dose as well as yogurt. But yeah, not going near kombucha with a ten foot pole! LOL. Iāve heard about that stuff. LOL.
I am so excited to share my bath/ shower ritual. This is something that just came to me years ago. It just felt right. I keep a bag of snake shedding I find by the trails I run next to me while I bathe. I fill my bath with all kinds of goodiesā¦ Whatever feels rightā¦ Flowers, oils, Florida water, salts, stones, etcā¦I love to just soak and submerge and envision all that is dark and unwelcome in my life pouring out of me, into the tub so it will eventually go down the drain. As though the salts in the water are leeching all that is no longer serving me from my body. After I have done this, I stand up, I rinse off all the suds from my body scrubbing myself down. This is when the bag of snakeskin comes in handy. I will grab a handful of my snakeskin, rub it very vigorously in my hands in a forward and back motionā¦ Until it begins to ball up, it feels hot, and I drop it into the tub; as Iām doing this, I am chanting thrice with a voice of authority, āLike a snake I shed my skin and I will be renewed again So mote it be.ā I look down into my water envisioning that the water has now turned black; that everything that comes from the faucet above me is silver light pouring into my head and only the darkness falls to the floor and only the silver light stays inside of me. I open the drain and all the darkness goes down into āYesterdayā. This is to be done at least weekly (this ritual is for my maintenance) It is a ritual to be done for a better āMeā.
Thank you for letting me be a part of this community. Although I donāt have a lot of time to commit online, I just want to express my gratitude to the whole community. Thank you
@Amethyst take some probiotics/prebiotics preferably at least 30 Billion CFU (I always refrigerate after opening)ā¦I take them every day along with folic acid. This was the greatest discovery I ever made like 7 years ago. A true miracle for feminine health.
Thanks for the idea! Theyāve already got me on yogurt and three times the amount of probiotics, but not the drinkable kind. I may have to look into that too.
Hahaha I feel you, @Amethyst! Kombucha is prettyā¦ fierce Iām still trying to get myself to drink kefir which is along similar lines (a very pungent and strong but healthy drink- itās kind of yogurt-y) with not much luck Hopefully the drinkable yogurt is a good fit for you!
This is so beautiful, @sheena! I especially love the power in your chant Thank you so much for sharing your gorgeous cleansing ritual
