Weekly Witch Challenge - Wands
A couple of years ago, I decided that I wanted a wand. But I puzzled at the type, the color, the design, etc. I looked up wand designs on the internet and loved them all!
The ornate ones screamed out to me for attention! The crystals, the metal cords, the exquisite designs…!
Oh, how I wanted them all.
I thought about this as I figured that, until I was certain what type of wand would suit me best, I would use a branch from the oaks in my backyard.
These oaks watched me grow up after all and I love them.
I took a semi-straight, thick but not too thick, branch and, respectfully, cut it away from the tree. I looked it over carefully. Yes, it was very close to perfect.
I then cut off the bark and small little branch that extended from it. All the while thinking magical and positive thoughts and thinking about all the wonderful creative possibilities!
My…here was an untamed oak tree branch mine to whittle into whatever I wanted.
I spent days sharpening one end, then filing and sanding down the branch. All the while thinking positive magical thoughts. Several hours a day for several days passed in the same manner. Then I put it down.
Here I was stuck again…How to decorate it?
I desperately wanted to be able to create the stunningly ornate and creative wands I’d seen but knew I couldn’t.
No talent for it.
After a week, I took it up again, having spent so much time considering how I would decorate this branch in order to create a wand just for me.
I held it, put it down, waited…held it, put it down, waited.
Then, I gave up! Just like that.
I took purple paint and painted it!
Several coats.
Then several coats of clear paint.
Then I looked at it.
It was then that I realized that that was exactly what I wanted all along.
A plain ol’ purple stick!
Oh gods, I’m STILL laughing!
My wand? Yeah, it’s a stick! A bent stick, no less!
Love ya all dearly
Thank you! I do tend to get emotionally invested in the things I make.
Thank you! You know I really enjoy being able to create my own tools and items and this was no exception!
It’s lovely! I love the silver accent! Personally, I would cleanse and charge again. Maybe consecrate it again if it changed dramatically or functioned differently.
I am partial to purple so I love it! It’s perfect!
Challenge Entry
Mine was made for me by my soul sister! She was the first personal to help me realize my gifts and basically helped me find this path. It’s been a while now and I have one crystal missing but if it fell it was meant to be am I right lol
I don’t always use it in my spiritual workings as much as I did when I first began my journey but it has huge significance and means so much to me! I also love the fact that its handmade… I really really appreciate the homemade wands better just because there made with intentions and different feelings are inveloped in it!
@Artemisia that is gorgeous! LOVE IT 🩶
@EvaCVM this is stunning as well!
@Jeannie1 Obsessedddddddd 🩵🩶🩷 these are amazing I’m literally obsessed
Hazel Ray,
I absolutely adore your style!
Today I went out into the elements!
I found a pinecone! I thought of using it for the tip of my wand sorta what you did! Great minds think alike!
Thank you for your love and intention it makes me feel so happy

“Your wand has two sides” I think that is really unique & powerful!! I love your vibe! It is extremely elegant! Now we need to direct our energy towards our goals and manifest our dreams!
@Wysteria_Norn
I love the purple

Jeannie
That lake is beautiful Jeannie! So peaceful and serene. I could sit on the ground for hours looking at that lake. Of course, I would probably need someone’s help getting me off the ground if I did that! Lol!
I love everything about that wand…the size, the shape, the color, the design…all of it!
Yes, we chaote’s do things differently. Maybe because we tend to go a slightly crooked path? Not malevolent, just a little off-kilter.
I use my wand for numerous things, but not circle-casting. In particular, I use it while making incense and essential oil blends.
Everyone’s wands are amazing
I don’t think I’ll have anything finished in time. The one is about ⅔ done and I’m working on figuring out the rest.I think it’s a spell-type specific wand so I’m working on the last of the doodads and such. I haven’t a clue what I’m doing with the 3rd one and I’ve taken a break from the Selenite one. But I absolutely love everyone’s treasures and creations
@Wysteria_Norn Thankyou. I can’t take credit for the wands design, Witch Casket made it. It does feel nice, very light.
You do chaos too? How fabulous. How do you use your wand to make incense and oils? I’ve tried using it, but just end up using my hands or lit candles to direct energy (lit candles probably not safest option, but then I’m not known for good safety standards, “haphazard”, my hubby calls me
). Definitely “off-kilter”, I like that.
Okay i am seeing this so late but i have to say i looove your sense of humor Tracy!!
This just made me laugh out loud inside my head.
(Sitting in my room with my mum giving online tuitions, so…
)
Have a blessed sunday, my dear.
@Solasta_Amore And you too.
I fall in love with it all the time, in every single challenge or group ritual, sweet pea!!!
Everyone knows what a sweetheart and what an amazingly talented witch you’re Bry!
Sending so much Love & Blessings to you, my friend.
Wow! Beautiful
Weekly Witchy Challenge entry for Amethyst.
Here’s my wand and my selinite wand. My wand is oak with copper coils and crystal quartz.
I’ve loved looking at everyone’s wands. They’re all so pretty!
They made it, but you chose it!
Yes, almost since the onset of my practice I realized I was a chaote. I refer to myself as a Gnostic Chaote witch. It makes sense to a degree since Ospare’s workings are heavily influenced by Nordic paganism. Also, since the point of magic is to lack ‘lust of result,’ performing instinctive rituals when subconsciously needed and then forgetting about them is what I’ve been doing from the get go! It was just less than 2 years ago, that I realized that method had a name!
I use my wand to combine elements.
I am of the school that believes that counter-clockwise, the way the Earth rotates on its axis, is actually the ‘correct’ way, rather than clockwise, the way the Sun appears in the sky.
So, depending on what the incense or oils are being created to help accomplish is how I use the wand.
@Wysteria_Norn Thankyou for this. Glad I’m not the only one not following the formula. Good job I’m not a scientist, I’d blow up the lab.
