Wicca in College - Candle Replacements

Essential oil diffusers. Not a flame, but you can get your herbal jam on with a diffuser.

I have one of those! Right now I only have lavender oil, but I plan on getting more soon. Thank you!

I use the diffuser with essential oils almost every day instead of the incense. I will use incense if I am going to be in the room the whole time that it is burning. The diffuser is a great idea though. Mine goes for 24 hours so I love it.

Mine too…in every room of my house.

I have mine in my bedroom. I use wax melts in the rest of the house. Those are really good too. I wouldn’t think of getting rid of the diffuser though. I can switch it up or mix & match. I do most of my spell work and such in my room, so it’s the perfect place for it.

Find local Wiccans and hang out with them. There’s no real substitute for the real thing.
When the weather warms, go outside and use Tiki Torches and a Bonfire.

Unfortunately I can’t do that at the moment, especially since I don’t know any other Wiccans where I’m at, but thank you for the advice!

Well … maybe we can help you find some Wiccans. We are everywhere. What state and town do you live in?

I’m not comfortable sharing what town I live in at the moment, but I’m in Iowa at the moment for college!

Covid limits finding a bunch of random people. Francisco’s idea about electric candles is great for apartments and dorm rooms. Brianna’s digital fireplace/candle idea is awesome, too.

Remember, the item itself is inconsequential. While there is magic in everything, what you are tapping into is within you. Anything you use, with intentions and rituals you decide on, will work for your needs.

I agree with the advice. Yes definitely with Covid, not a very good time to socialize at the moment.

I love digital fireplaces, especially with the crackling, pop-pop…

Well then type your town and state wicca and coven into the Google search and see if anything comes up. Good luck.

There is one, but you do the entire ritual in your head. Meditate, imagine the whole thing. Your Tools can be as ornate as your mind can conjur. The elements can appear as you imagine them, a Sylph Fairy for Air, a Dragon for Fire, an Undine for Water, and a Gnome for Earth, Any God and Goddess you like. It’s all your imagination and as valid or moreso than any other spell or ritual work. So the Flames can be in your head too.
To get started with visualization, find something simple, observe every detail, then in your mind’s eye recreate it. Once you can do little things you can start on bigger things, then things you create in your mind.

@John4 is absolutely right on with this suggestion! :+1: He described the process beautifully, and I know that Francisco has some additional advice and guidance about using your Inner Temple (the power of your mind) to expand your spellwork in ways that go beyond what is physically accessible:

John is right that this a great way to practice anytime, anywhere, with tools or without!

Blessed be! :sparkles:

my aunt who taught me the craft taught me to use “Intention cards” when I was younger. Its index cards that you make collages on either by writing the words, drawing, coloring. I still use these for candles when I am out in public. I have an index card on me now that is drawn and colored using colored pencils- with the color green. Great for quick spells when your in public!!!

I love the sound of your Intention Cards, @Aedreysa! It sounds like a wonderful way to bring your craft on the go, to create any magickal tool needed, and also to let the talents of an Art Witch shine :art:

I’ll have to consider making some Intention Cards of my own!:+1:
