🌲 Winter Solstice Intention Ornament (or Spell Jar)

Purpose:
To honor the longest night and welcome back the returning light — a charm of renewal, protection, and gratitude.

:candle: You’ll Need:

  • A small clear ornament (or a mini glass jar with a cork)

Dried herbs (pick what you feel drawn to): But I use…

  • Cinnamon for warmth & abundance

  • Pine needles for renewal & protection

  • Rosemary for remembrance & clarity

  • Orange peel for joy & light

Crystals or stones (tiny chips or pieces):

  • Clear quartz to amplify energy

  • Citrine to call in the sun

  • Black tourmaline for grounding

  • A small piece of paper + pen

  • Ribbon or twine (gold, green, or red are traditional)

Optional: glitter, dried flowers, or a few drops of essential oil (clove or frankincense smell divine)

:crescent_moon: Instructions:

Set the Scene — Light a candle. Take a few breaths. Feel yourself grounding into the stillness of winter.

Write Your Intention — On your paper, jot down what you wish to release from this past year, and on the back, what light you want to welcome into your life.

Layer with Love — Roll your paper and tuck it into the ornament/jar. Add your herbs and crystals one by one, saying something like: “With pine I call protection, With orange I call the sun, With rosemary I find my truth, This new cycle has begun.”

Seal It — Close your jar or ornament, tie your ribbon, and hold it in your hands for a moment.

Visualize your energy and warmth flowing into it.

Hang or Place It — Hang it near a window, on your tree, or place it on your altar to honor the rebirth of the sun.

It’s beautiful, smells amazing, and holds real energy.

You can even make a few for friends — each customized with their own herbs and blessings :herb:

It was snowing here today – so I got inspired!
