Do you have spices in the baking section of your grocery store? A few in a bottle may cost a buck or two. Best of all for those who are low income, they are an acceptable purchase on food stamps!
I recently finished a baby blanket for a family member for this challenge, I added in a bit of magic with my creativity by cleansing and blessing the blanket. Since the blanket is going to an infant I didnāt include any herbs or oils. Instead, I used warm water and a bit of salt for cleansing. I hand-washed the blanket during this part, squeezing it with my hands and focusing on the energy of the blanket, making sure it was clear and neutral.
Itās going through a cycle in the washing machine now, then through the dryer, and will get a final blessing when I send it off in the mail
Challenge entry: I spent the day working on my protection macrame wall hanging while listening to a lovely witchy music playlist. I just winged the design and added the evil eye charm that arrived from Amazon today. The horse shoe is huge, it belonged to a Shire Draft horse from 30 years ago. Thatās how long itās been waiting for me to do something with it. I used to have it (without the macrame)on the wall where I kept my own horse before she passed away. I was able to get a quick photo of it by my desk/altar, where my Owl usually is, but I donāt trust it not to fall because of the weight. i will have to find a suitable wall stud to hang it from. At the moment, itās hanging on the handle of the bathroom door. I also added a photo of the owl.
@MeganB thatās a lovely baby blanket. Your family member will be thrilled to receive it.
@Ostara - I like that protection pouch. Something I think we could all use in our vehicles with all the crazy drivers around!

I did the Creat-tarot-tivity card spell and it was a very interesting experience. I drew the two of swords which is a card Iāve been drawing often lately and an energy Iām very familiar with. I donāt think Iāve ever studied the artwork on the card that closely and Iāve certainly never done so while meditating. Usually it is not easy for me write something when prompted, but the spell seemed to draw out my creativity. Here is the poem I came up with:
Stalemate
She deliberates in darkness
Two swords crossing her way
Each blade is pressed against
The delicate threads of fate
She doesnāt see the gentle glow
Of the waxing crescent behind her
Or the eyes adorning each hilt
Her fear of misstep blinds her
She forgets time unfolds like a lotus
And that her eyes will come into focus
But all she can feel is the weight
Of blades suspended in a stalemate
I look forward to doing more spells to draw out my creativity.
I remember my baby blankets: I adored them and carried them around until Mom used them to clean battery acid from the car engine. May your creation be as beloved!
Both projects are very nice! The horse shoe gives a sense of magnetism to attract the protection you need. Your owl grants a feeling of being watched over by a friendly spirit.
Beautiful poem!
You have the items laid out so nicely on your altar! Iām slightly green with envy because I know Iād make a mess. Iād have to keep each item in its container until I was ready to add it to the pouch (Perfect segway, btw. Youāll see in a minute).

part one?
I was home early after a day of listening and supporting others for the holiday. It was one of those times when Iād finally wanted to say, āStop the world, I wanna get off!ā Stress was intense enough that I have forgotten where Iād heard this part of the spell, recently, so I thank the original author and I paraphrase. When time seems to spin out of control, slow it down by sitting still with no computer, no lights, no activities, for as long as possible.
I sat still in the gathering sunset for an hour and may have napped. In the distance of another room, I could faintly hear the recording of an old Carpenters record I used to cry to in my youth. It still held the tears and memories, but they washed over and around me without coming in. Behind the emotions, I found memories of crafts Iād indulged in to escape the cause of the tears and found myself open to researching the project for this challenge.
It was a present given to me for Yule.
I hadnāt opened it yet, but I had an idea. In grade school, Mom had taken ceramics classes in a neighborhood craft store. They had told us that all ceramic statues had a hole in the bottom so the statue wouldnāt break when it was being fired. Why not use that to contain and hide something witchy?
All Iād need was some way to seal the hole when the project was finished. I remembered rubber plugs once used to stopper piggie banks so the money could be retrieved without having to break the bank. Did they still exist? If not, I could seal the base of the ceramic piece by gluing on a piece of felt. I just needed to know the size of the hole I had to work with.
The ceramic items were small enough not to have much of a hole to work with. I could seal the rainbow with a pair of beads and some wax. The unicorn was solid- no hole to work with at all. Of the three, the mermaid tail had the largest hole in the bottom and the smallest overall space to put something into. My craft idea might not work after all.
Meanwhile, I unpacked everything which came in the kit. The ceramics were well packed and wrapped in bubble wrap. Paint pot strips were individually wrapped. In the bag with the paint brushes were a tube of glitter, a glue pen, a small bag of gems, a square of clear stickers similar to what kids would put on fingernails, and a baggie of clear pink stars.
The baggie of stars wasnāt sealed properly! I ended up with star shaped glitter all over my bed! By the time I had it as cleaned up as I could get it and sealed into a snack size zipper bag, I was too tired to continue the project!
@Ostara 's glitter memes were appropriate, here. Iāll be cleaning until I move!
Wake up with glitter stars sticking all over me! Well, I wanted a magickal project.
@MeganB your baby blanket is beautiful and @jayne I am wowed over your macramƩ!
I am the most uncreative witch in the group, so when I saw the challenge I almost skipped it. I added some Wormwood to my spell pouch. I have an over abundance of it because it loves Texas weather! According to a website called Eldrum Herbs, it is used to relieve anger, and allow the user to vent it in a more peaceful way. It can also be used in magic to prevent strife or war. Carried in a pouch, Wormwood is protective. How perfect is that for a car protection pouch, especially when sometimes Iām guilty of the road rage!
@SerenFox your I love your poem and @georgia your project turned out beautiful!
I am a very messy clumsy witch! No matter how careful I am, Iām always knocking things over, spilling things, and have incense ashes on my altar!
Here your meme!
@georgia Your ceramic project sounds fun. Iām sorry, but I had a little giggle at the thought of you sleeping in a bed of glittery stars - that sounds like the kind of thing that would happen to me!
Iāll be interested to read part 2, to see your painted ceramics and learn what magickal treasures you hid inside them.

I was inspired by the Creative writing for tarot posted in the OG post (and Iāve posted it below)
I write dark, slow burn romances under a pen name (started in 2020 and have self-published 5 books and 2 novellas ) and thought this was perfect! Especially since I have been in such a huge writerās block.
However I put my own twist on it.
I listed out my characters and pulled out all the Major Arcana cards from my deck. I shuffled the deck and went down the list, allowing my deck to throw the card out that matched the character (and let me tell you! Holy **** lmao they were spot on!). The I decided, why not use my other deck to get even deeper meaning. So I did. (Still learning the decks lol) And I included the opposite meanings (meaning, if it was pulled reversed, I also wrote the upright) for inspiration of character problems/development/etc.
Once I did that, I then followed the guide above adding my own question, āwhat do you want me to knowā.
It helped me get through that blockage a little and Iām grateful!
Hereās a screenshot of the first character. I blocked out the name only because, like I said, I write under a pen name lol.
Thanks for reading!
Thank you, Jayne! I hope so!
Your macrame is beautiful, too! I love the horseshoe youāve got there. Thatās a lovely way to commemorate your horse
Iām hoping so!
Thank you! Iām glad you found a way to do the challenge, too
Challenge Entry - Creative Magick*
One of the crafts I have wanted to try for a long time but never got around to was felting. I work with both domestic cats and dogs
as well as the exotic varieties
I have made talisman pendants from castings of claws and canines for years but wanted to add another keepsake project from the fur that had been collected from grooming some of the residents.
My orange boy kitty is dense with fur and while he doesnāt shed much, I can brush out handfuls of fur daily. Iāve been collecting it for a while hoping to make something meaningful from it. I figured using his fur to learn how to felt was the first step.
Then I made some special hearts for a friend at the animal park where I work. One of her favorite wolves passed recently, so I made her a heart from his shedding from past years. I also had a baggie of shredded fur from her other favorite canine, a coyote that we visit together weekly. Iāve got them both in an organza bag to give to her tomorrow.
I decided to try something a bit larger and more complex - a crescent moon. Iāve included progress photos. Iām tempted to sculpt in details but I havenāt settled on what Iād like to do: runes, symbols, or a face
Witch Challenge- Creative Magick @TheMuslimWitch
For my entry i have chosen to present what i have been working on. As most of you know, i love creating witchy items through crochet or sewing and crafts too, and i am working on a sun and moon crochet tote style bag which to be honest has taken some time since i have just moved and had to stop for a week or two, but so far this is what i have:
I will be making two handles and sewing a double sided insert celestial fabric if i can find otherwise something witchy and close to the blue colour
Gorgeous!!! You are so talented!
Beautiful Artemisia!. I have never thought about crafts from shedded fur!
Canada is strange.
But I will check our dollar store! Ty!
@Artemisia your felting is beautiful. I absolutely love the crescent moon, and your friend will cherish the hearts you made for her.
@TheMuslimWitch I love your sun and moon crochet tote bag. It will be beautiful, and very useful, when you have completed it.
I really love your macrame pieces. They are beautiful. I especially love the owl.
Thank you.
Wow that is really gorgeous! I love the colors so much.
Wow. I love the creativity and ideas. The effort needed for some of the projects is substantial. My SO did macrame for years so I dig the results here. I did crochet for a year or two just for the therapy and meditation. I found lots of ways to ruin nice yarn. I loved the baby blanket(s) - they are so very handy and after a few years they are still useful for other tasks. The spells, protection bags and other creations are interesting and well done.
I want to participate but the things I usually do require tools that many donāt have (lathe, mill, 3d printer are my favorite). Iām workinā on sumthinā but may not get it done since the nasty weather (-29 windchill this morning) is slowing deliveries. That is neither here nor there since Iām enjoying reading about the projects. Keep going please!
