I may try to make a spell so that snow doesn’t stick to walkways. I think everyone would appreciate it! LOL! Thanks, love!
Let me know if you make one, I’ll happily use it here before it starts snowing tonight! ![]()
Haven’t figured out one yet! I’ll let you know if I do!
Damn I’m sorry to hear that!
I hope things get sorted out and that you have your chance for justice.
Thank you. ![]()
Challenge Entry 2
Some of the older practices have begun to vanish. I’d like to offer a shout out to them as being things which our ancestors used to enhance their health and well being.
Candlemas- Feb 2
I’ve only experienced this once, but I could see immediately the magick within it, despite cultural theft.
Each person in the group was blessed with a pair of white taper candles, unlit, crossed at the throat. The blessing was in Latin, and happened so long ago that I couldn’t remember it, but we were told beforehand that the intention was asking St Brigid to heal us from all illness and cleanse our throats that we may freely express our deepest feelings for our deities and our ears that we may more clearly hear our deities in our lives.
Candling
A taper candle is lit. The unlit end is placed in the ear. Somehow, it was intended to pull out ear wax and heal ear infections. I learned about this one while I had a nasty ear infection, but my mother wouldn’t allow it to be done to me. I was too little, and it seemed too dangerous at that time.
I have no clue what to do for this challenge, but I’ve got plenty of ice and snow…
I woke up this morning around 7:30 AM to a temperature of -14°F outside… ![]()
Noooo!!! And I’m complaining about it being 40 degrees. I’m done with winter and want to complain about how hot it is again!![]()
oh, wow…that´s hot-tea-weather!! ![]()
I like your spirit!
You could be Viennese! We complain about everything, and at the same time wouldn´t want to have it any other way.
That’s not even right! Things look pretty frozen around here and our lowest temperature this week was -7°F.
Even us tough Michiganders are complaining about the snow and cold this winter!
After a couple of months, it just starts to wear on the soul. ![]()
How is the old house holding up? They weren’t built with much insulation back then. Hope you and the little one are staying warm, snuggling with the dogs!
Wow! I remember some laughing at us Hoosiers over the weather, years back.
My old house doesn’t have much insulation and we don’t have central air and heat. I turned the little space heater on in the bathroom to warm it up before getting in the tub. When you turn the heater on, it has the room temperature on the display. It was 42 degrees in my bathroom. I knew that toilet seat was cold!

Well, either my rune protections didn’t work
Heading out to shovel my way out of the foot of snow that fell yesterday.
Oh my stars! It’s been awhile since I’ve done a challenge, but I did this one before I even knew it was a challenge! Woot!!
We have snow in Georgia right now! It’s a rarity! BUT the fact that it’s also Imbolg and a full moon?? What is happening!!
This morning, before anyone else got up, I bundled up and took a sunrise walk (it was SO cold!). I went to my very favorite tree and wrote out some things that have been weighing on me this last season - worry for my mom, the pressure of being everything to everyone right now, work junk, etc. etc. etc. This season just feels like a lot and while I have been very careful to prioritize my self care… sometimes I still spiral. Anyway, wrote it all out and today I am visualizing those things melting out of my life and new, beautiful opportunities growing in their place.
I took a few minutes to admire the absolute gorgeousness that is snow in the south - the quiet, the glimmer, the clarity in the air, the crunch of snow underfoot and when I could not feel my fingers, I headed back inside. I sat by the fireplace and wrapped my hands around a cup of hot coffee and medicated on the warmth creeping back into my fingers - because Imbolg is all about the return of the light… warmth… remembering that while everything still looks dead, life is flourishing beneath the surface.
Then I decorated my Imbolg altar, did some reading on Substack with a beautiful piece written about Brigid, who seems to have taken me underwing in this season of my life… and here I am. It has been a delightfully beautiful day so far!
Oh - I even remembered to put out bowls for full moon Imbolg snow water! I can’t even tell you how accomplished I feel today!
Aah but were you ok during that beautiful snow, that’s the question
(oh and side note, they are a Nordic system so they love snow
)
Don’t have to worry about the refrigerator going out, this time of year! It’s just not a steady temperature to keep the milk fresh. ![]()
May the old water the new so the new things bloom profusely, peacefully, and beautifully!
Fabulous pic of the falling snow, btw!
Now she tells us! ![]()
Why spoil the fun, Loki’s doing ![]()
