Why rusty nails?
well from what I’ve read they can act as a sort of barrier against unwanted visitors & negativity. I believe they can be used in baneful magic as well. Im new to witchy stuff and am always finding them and our property. Plus it just kind of felt right for me in protection jars.

I put nails in mine too, even though I didn’t have any rusty ones. Thumb tacks as well. Anything prickly that would make someone uncomfortable if they were sitting on it. Nettles. Gum. Things like that.
Iron nails would be great, because iron is a protective thing against the Fae. Then again, it might make them mad if you have a house spirit, so that’s something you’d have to decide.

You’re welcome! I guess it depends on if you have one. I don’t work with the Fae that much, so I’m not the one to ask.
How do you know if you have fae like beings in your back yard or not?
It depends on if the fae or nature spirts they are drawn to spaces that are magical and well-tended. . I lost a dog a few years ago and I saw orbs just after I had dug a hole and filled her ashes and put some flowers 
and then covered. Both myself, Husband thought it was our watch faces reflecting but it was cloudy. My remaining dog was chasing after the orbs. You may also feel that part of garden is more serene (they are good)
If however, there is a feeling of being watched, uneasy, unusual plant growth or repetitive dying of plants. Certain parts that birds avoid and a sudden temperature changes then that could be something else.
I feel peaceful in my gardens.

Ok. So what if like for instance, something keeps yelling my name from the back yard, and it sounds like my husband, but it’s not, cuz he was at work and it was storming on a Monday afternoon?
I was thinking mimic, but other weird things have been happening. It’s a lot to explain. I’m just trying to wrap my head around it
Are you friendly with your neighbours or is there someone who you had a problem with and knows where you live? It could just be someone trying to cause you stress.. Sometimes if we act differently, have things in our houses as it looks like you can be overlooked if you have your lights on then people see it as a green light to make you feel uncomfortable. I would try to rule that out first.
Take a deep breath, centre yourself and try not to dwell on it.

No. Nothing like that . I’ve lived here for almost 10 years, and it doesn’t scare me as much as it used to. I had to banish a trickster spirit out of my house, but I never thought to do the yard at that time. That was about 7 years ago now, and since then, we’ve gotten a new mobile home and demolished the other one. Thank God, because that house really freaked me out. I would wake up with sleep paralysis and a gang of hell house clowns (from the movie ‘Hell House LLC’) would come running out of my closet, coming for me. I don’t know how I broke out of the paralysis, but I tell you what, I did not wake up a second time , it wasnt a dream. I was legit running from monsters as soon as I woke up, and it was the most terrifying thing I’ve ever had to do. Also, knocking on windows… I don’t know why it chose to knock on windows to freak me out, but i am sure i have PTSD from that situation…
That’s also why I avoid my backyard at all cost 
You should not have to live with being so terrified in your own home and outside space.
Everything around us holds energy, land and fabrics of buildings you have said that you banished a trickster spirt from inside your previous home, demolished it and then re-built another property. Do you know the historical use of the land prior to the housing development being erected you may be able to view historical records this might give you an idea what was there before the development. The spirts sound that they are trying to get you to leave.
Have your neighbours experienced similar problems? Is it just you that is being directly affected or have your family heard/seen and experienced nightmares and unease?
There are options.

If there is a Church near to your area you could request for a religious house clearing as they have the correct tools and trained to do this if you are comfortable.

Items and Ingredients needed are

Broken Glass and if you can get hold of pieces of broken Black Glazed Pottery. Again to serve as a protective, cut, shatter or trap negative energy and spirts.

Thorny Plants. In Lancashire, England there is a Hawthorn locally known as “May-Tree” or “ Quick Thorn”. I don’t think you will have that so Blackthorn (plant name Prunus Spinosa) is more common, Bramble/Blackberry (Rubus Fruticousus) or even Holly or thorny plants might be easier to get hold of
Now for the icky part “Personal Taglocks”

- Clipped Fingernails and Toenails
- Lock of hair from your head or other parts of the body!

Method
Open your doors and windows ventilate for 10 minutes to dispel/release negative energy that has built up throughout the previous days - Home Cleanse - there is an post on the Forum on this only this week.
Do an individual cleanse using either a Selenite Wand or Sage Incense Stick - again see forum post as above to assist.
Cast a circle of protection and ground yourself - again post of how to do this if you are not sure on forum. This is a very important part.
Two candles 1 white & 1 black candles - cleanse your candles by passing through the incense stick before lighting
A cloth
Add the ingredients to the bottle and visualise the objects protecting you and your family and piercing, stabbing release all your thoughts.
Seal and Clean Bottle
Further Ritual Items to be buried alongside the Witches Bottle outside IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT THE BOTTLE IS NOT DISTURBED AFTER BEING BURIED
Pair of shoes (preferably Leather ones that have been worn by you) one to buried in the ground with the Witches Bottle and the other one to be buried or concealed in your home - shoes are a protective
Place your candle remnants in the ground with your Witches Bottle
Splinters of wood or tooth bones (just keep to wood)

Malachite - Protective Tailsman against the evil eye 
and negative energies
Black Obsidian - Blocks negativity
Black Tourmaline - Shielding against negativity, psychic attacks
Hematite- Grounding by protecting the soul and grounding it back to the body
Red Jasper - Strong spiritual grounding energy linking the lower chakras for healing
Clear Quartz ( The Healing Stone) it also amplifies the other crystals
You also need to bring some good energy use any that you love and are drawn to as it is important for balance throughout your home. You could carry small crystals with you again balance is the key.
Get some indoor plants as they help control indoor levels of CO2, humidity and are very therapeutic, looking after them will helps lift you by bringing in peace and calm. The nature healer

I am no longer afraid. When we got our new house, I immediately put black tourmaline and selenite above my windows and doors.
I’m not sure if it helps keep the rougarou out but it definitely keeps the inside of my home spiritually balanced for sure.
I think the property I live on is just old, like really old. I use prayer and sprinkle holy water and pray when I feel at unease.
