I’m still researching Egyptian magic and mythology, I believe doing so is an important part of my practice. For example, did you know that pork is a taboo offering to Bastet and the other Egyptian deities? The reason behind this is that pigs became associated with the god Set, so it was a taboo for priests to touch or come close to.
I’m glad I’ve never offered Her any kind of meats! I always give Her catnip, milk, honey, a portion of any cookies and cakes I make, spray Her altar with special parfum, as well as burn incense and candles of Her favorite scents. I wasn’t aware that pork is a no no for Her until recently.
I’ve also bought some Bastet pdfs off of Etsy earlier, for the Goddesses section of my Book of Shadows binder. I’m going to read them soon after I post this~!
I am currently (well trying to but I procrastinate ) researching Australia’s First People’s… Well everything honestly, their knowledge of flora and fauna, how they lived so effectively, efficiently and cohesively with Country, their stories and how they coincide with actual historical geological events, they’re constilations and the stories behind it.
I feel insanely connected to Country (Gia, mother nature, the planet ) and I should find out anything and everything I can about the land I live in and the people that lived here for around 60,000 years.
I also feel like it will make those little ripple effects throughout our collective consciousness, that help heal and bridge the divide.
I’m in the process of expanding my knowledge of voodoo and working with voodoo dolls. There are so many different ways of practicing voodoo but I’m finding most of them seem to incorporate catholic practices in them. It’s quite interesting.
I am so interested in this. I have Basque in my DNA. Some France and Spain but a lot of Denmark and Norway. I would love to find information on the witchcraft in those areas.
