My cat Max sleeps with me. He’s seventeen pounds and about six feet long, to where I end up hanging off the edge of the bed. LOL. He’s a bed hog.

A familiar is a spirit that is close to you that you can go to when you need too. Mostly a relationship that helps you!

@Jeannie1 , i haven’t invoked/worked with Bast yet. However, somehow she keeps calling- i think through signs. I have some of my printables on my altar. One of them is of Brigid- to save paper, I’ve printed on both sides . Therefore, i have a prayer of Brigid on one side and Bast on the other. Often at times, the printable prayers will fall to the floor and Bast side will often face up. I also have a very nice statue of a beautifully carved cat, embossed with shinny sparkles. I’ve had it for years- which i keep on my window sill. Somehow, I’ve always been drawn to it. However, I’ve never thought of it as a magical piece. I’m thinking i should answer her calling?! How do we know if a God/Goddess/Diety is calling us? Are there signs like I’m getting? @Jeannie1 since, you’ve worked with Bast, any suggestions you can offer? I’ve read that she’s a gentle Goddess. Thank you!
Blessed be .

Isn’t that what the coven naming is doing? LOL. I’d try to come up with a catchy name but I have a sinus headache that’s keeping me from being witty.

I put in a few suggestions for the coven name, but haven’t seen any activity on the post or a decision for the name. I wonder how that is going

I think they were leaving it open for a while and then whatever names got two mentions would be posted in a poll for people to vote on. So go ahead and add your two cents worth! I’d love to hear your thoughts.

Hi Walter,
My gut told me that since I was a little girl I had lifes struggles that made me feel that I was alone. But after being connected to the cat I felt I could do anything. I love the spirit of the cat. I feel protected with the soft purr of a cat. My cat is the best she sleeps with me every night. They have a playful heart but they will not take no shit. I have that spirit too and I feel you have addressed that too as well. I felt a calling since I was in college and even if I was a Christain at that time, I always been fascinated with a higher power and the Egyptians were interested in the after life. I think there just like us wondering what’s going to happen when we die. Even when I was a Christain was seeking even during that time. I did a presentation for Egypt! My husband took a vacation with his girlfriend to Egypt. I have many pictures of the tombs. I would like to go there and visit someday. It is a sacred land. And since all the war I cannot go there because it is not safe for tourist anymore.
I always had a fascination with the Egyptians and how they lived. I liked that they wanted to understand what happens when we die. They prepared all of the bodies to be mumified and prepared for the afterlife. They liked ritual I think and art. I think the deity for me was very relevant because its been a calling for a long time only before I just didnt know about Bast. I knew they worshiped them. I was clueless and know since the light bulb went on, I think know since I am paying more attention it has been recognized. I think someone got a statue on spells 8 but I already had a calling to get the statue and it was settled after I saw the statue, I said to myself that is it!!! A higer power that I could pray too! I just think its was comfortable for me. Know maybe I can start diving into other diety who worshiped the cat.

I have always believed cats are sacred anima’s. The Egyptians felt the same way. They loved cats. I had loved cat’s from the beginning and still so. They were *NSYNC with me. When I was younger I always had a walk alone to the bus stop however there was this cat that followed me to the bus down. He would walk miles and he knew what time I got off of the bus. Its crazy since I was a little girl I never really had friends and the kids would always make fun of me. But something told me this cat understood me to the depth of my soul. I was adopted that cat was there for meee, and the cat was my friend. I’m just considered like that crazy cat lady! LOL
This cat did not leave my sight. I had an abusive grandpa when I was younger. Anyways he didn’t like the cat but eventually he had a soft spot in his soul and let me keep the cat. The cat would always stay outside waiting for me. It’s just the way it’s been my whole life well. I started getting wiser and dove into ancient wisdom and realize that the cats were something the Egyptians would honor them. I connected the dots finally and relized, most Egyptian are likely to have an animal totem. I really like the Egyptian Gods. I have a tarot deck so that way I can learn more about them too. The Egyptian Gods really have some good stories that I connect too. The Bastest is in to the Wiccan religion. I study the Wiccan religion because it gives me a multicultural perspective. If you feel like the cat is a sacred animal then that could be a clue that your a cat person or not. Then you can find Egyptian Gods like Sekhmet. Walter if you are lead to the Bast you will know in your bones. Thank you Walter for letting share my experience, and my thoughts with you. I am so glad you asked. I do feel passionate about Bast. I think you do too! I am so excited for you Walter!! We always understand each other!
