I wanted to talk about what I’m doing right now because I’m having a lot of trouble grounding myself and centering which is probably due to my illness and I know that in all spells being grounded is the foundation of everything. I was letting it get to me not being able to do anything which probably made it much harder to connect. But now I’m just studying astrology here at spells8 and also have a great app (astromatrix.app) that I paid for but wow what information is there and makes me even more excited to learn. I am also shadowing and using @MeganB book and the course here. So it can be a lot when you can’t be doing magic work just wanted to talk about this in case anyone else is in the same situation.
Also wanted to talk about Spells8 and our group here which is absolutely priceless the amount of information and tutorials and support from the other witches here.

I’m not entirely sure that I am very good at it. It’s definitely a learned thing for me as well.
For myself, because I get into deep dives and rabbit holes so quickly, another learned thing for me was working on different things, one at a time. When I recently had to regroup my everything, that meant starting over. Just about from the beginning. So the first thing I went to was grounding & mindfulness to quiet my own mind, but starting with foundational types of things.
I think for everyone, there isn’t always going to be just one thing or practice that always works. I found that what works for one day, may not another day depending on what is happening around me, to me, my physical body. So I I have a few different things to try and kind of mix and match. The important thing is that you remember:
There’s no bad meditation, and there is not only one way to do these things.
I have been trying to take 10 minutes each day for a mindfulness/grounding break and any others throughout the day are just bonus points
I wouldn’t say you’re doing anything wrong; maybe try slowing down what it is you’re trying to learn. If your focus is on astrology then work on that and put in 10 - 15 minutes a day of working on your grounding/mindfulness. Even if that time is spent journaling, writing, or another creative outlet.
There’s no specified amount of time to get anything done, so don’t put too much on your plate all at once. It will be easier to add to what you already do than to try and fit everything into one day or block of time.
I find this to be the case with me a lot. I cast spells less and less often, usually because I either don’t need to or because I can’t find the time to dedicate to the process. It’s okay to go back and forth between casting spells and other things, especially when you find your time or other resources very limited I’m glad to hear you’re finding something else magical to do so you can still feel like your witchy self!

Thanks, yes, maybe I’m a little hard on myself and I’m always doing too much at once, but I’m on ADHD meds haha, I was crazy before I got them. I am taking short meditations almost every day and have a gratitude book, a journal and a shadow workbook, and am also learning a little about astrology. Thank you so much for this @Susurrus

You’re welcome! I am the hardest person on myself too. I am neuro-spicy as well and can take on all the things all at once, then none of it gets done, and I crash
